Allergy, Asthma and Immunology Our allergy, asthma and immunology specialists offer individualized diagnosis and treatment for children, adolescents and adults with allergic and immunologic conditions such as allergic rhinitis; atopic dermatitis; drug, food, venom and latex allergies; anaphylaxis; urticaria (hives); asthma; primary immunodeficiencies; sinusitis and wheezing. Our treatments include immunotherapy medicines and shots, drug desensitization, anti-asthma injections, intravenous gamma-globulin infusions (IVIG), and personalized education about monitoring asthma, avoiding allergy triggers and handling allergy emergencies.

Cancer Institute The Allegheny Health Network Cancer Institute at the Wexford Health + Wellness Pavilion features a multi-disciplinary approach to cancer care in an environment that promotes healing and maximizes patient comfort. Rehabilitation Services A wide range of assessment and therapy services are available at the Wexford Health + Wellness Pavilion. Aquatic Therapy: When land-based exercises are not possible because of disability and pain, aquatic therapy offers the unique healing benefits of water. Aquatic therapy is a gentler, more beneficial environment where patients can rapidly improve mobility, strength and function. Patients can greatly optimize their therapy by exercising in Wexford Health + Wellness Pavilion’s heated indoor pool. The pool features a treadmill and counter current for resistive training. This offers patients many benefits, including accelerated rehabilitation, protection of joints and increased muscle tone. Cardiac and Pulmonary Rehabilitation: The Wexford Health + Wellness Pavilion offers a comprehensive, individualized exercise and education treatment plan for those with heart failure or who have undergone invasive cardiac treatments for heart disease, including: • Coronary artery bypass surgery • Valve repair/replacement • Angioplasty or stent placement • Heart transplant During each exercise session, your blood pressure, heart rate, EKG and oxygen saturation levels are closely monitored to ensure an optimal experience and a safe return to daily activities. Individual education from our rehabilitation staff helps guide you through a successful transition to a heart-healthy, active life. The benefits from the program are maximized through a professional staff of registered nurses, clinical exercise physiologists, registered dietitians and behavioral health specialists working closely with your cardiologist to provide feedback about your progress. Patients and community members alike are invited to wellness activities such as nutrition and healthy cooking classes or demonstrations and walks on the indoor track and outside paths around the pavilion.

Rehabilitation Services Occupational Therapy: Occupational therapists help patients manage pain and regain motion and strength in their hands, wrists and elbows, using adaptive tools if needed, to resume activities of daily living and work after injury or surgery or to manage chronic conditions such as arthritis. Some specific therapies include custom splinting, sensory re-education, ultrasound, fluid therapy, iontophoresis, paraffin treatment, personalized exercise prescription and home exercise plan, education in joint protection techniques, scar management and edema control. Physical Therapy: Our physical therapists use the latest equipment for assessment and techniques for treatment, including ultrasound, advanced manual therapy, cold laser, electrical stimulation, iontophoresis and aquatic therapy in our heated indoor therapy pool. Services provided include: • Rehabilitation following sports or traumatic injuries or surgery and for disorders of the spine or extremities, including lumbar stabilization and spinal traction • Aquatic therapy • Cardiac and pulmonary rehabilitation • Chronic pain management • Home exercise instruction • Vestibular rehabilitation • Balance/fall prevention training • Injury prevention assessments, including sports/running assessments Oncology Rehabilitation: The pavilion also offers oncology rehabilitation services for pre- and post-breast cancer treatment, post-head and neck treatment, and for other cancers that may result in lymphedema. Lymphedema is a swelling that can occur when lymph nodes are removed or radiated. Sports Performance: The pavilion offers Sports Performance training in addition to its existing programs and services. The pavilion is home to an all-inclusive experience, providing strength & conditioning, speed & agility, power development, anaerobic fitness, therapeutic massage, sports nutrition and recovery, and more. Our professional staff holds national accreditations and possesses a proven methodology of sports-specific and positionspecific training. Rehabilitation Services Sports Performance at the pavilion features some specialized equipment, including a Swim-X pool used for anaerobic training and recovery. Allegheny Health Network is offering programming for the following demographics: Developing Youth: Young athletes who are ready to begin strength training can do so safely with age-appropriate exercises under the supervision of an experienced and professional staff. Performing Athlete: Middle school, high school, college, and professional athletes who are looking to maximize their strength, power, speed, agility, fitness level, and body composition can use our facility to get them ready for their championship season. Active Adult: Adults who wish to strength train and condition like they did when they were competing athletes can do so in an environment that is both challenging and safe. Additional Services and Amenities The Wexford Health + Wellness Pavilion offers comprehensive ancillary healthcare services and amenities in one convenient location, reducing the need for multiple trips.
Ancillary Services Ancillary healthcare services on-site include imaging, laboratory, pharmacy and vision care. Imaging services include the following: • Bone densitometry (DEXA) scans • CT (computed tomography) • Fluoroscopy • Image-guided procedures (biopsies, drainage procedures) • MRI (magnetic resonance imaging) • Neonatal stress testing • Digital mammography • Nuclear medicine and nuclear cardiology procedures • PET/CT scans • Plain film radiography (X-rays) • Ultrasound (breast, OB, vascular and general) imaging Many laboratory tests can be performed on-site, and the on-site pharmacy provides a convenient way to have your prescriptions filled, all at the same visit. The pharmacy offers curbside pick-up. Vision services for all ages are also offered at the Wexford Health + Wellness Pavilion in our fully staffed Visionworks eye care center. Visionworks accepts most vision insurance plans, including Davis Vision, Blue Cross Blue Shield and FEP Blue Vision.

Additional Services and Amenities Convenient Amenities The pavilion offers many amenities to add to the comfort and convenience of your visits, including: • Complementary valet parking • Concierge service to assist patients with the registration process and provide a written itinerary of the patient’s appointments • Staffed Austin’s Playroom • Café with varied healthy and delicious meals • Demonstration Kitchen • Healing gardens • Outdoor walking trail The Wexford Health + Wellness Pavilion’s Demonstration Kitchen offers the perfect venue for learning how to plan a healthy diet and prepare delicious as well as nutritious meals. Located next to the Café, the Demonstration Kitchen features a modern home-style work space and seating for a total of about 40 to 45 participants, including ‘close-up’ seating for a more intimate group.

Additional Services and Amenities Diabetes and Nutrition Service The Wexford Health + Wellness Pavilion provides adult educational programs for patients with Type 1 diabetes, Type 2 diabetes and other forms of diabetes. We will work with your primary care physician to help you achieve the best possible outcomes.
Nutrition Counseling Nutrition counseling is provided by a registered, licensed dietitian. As a member of the Nutrition and Dietetics Academy, every dietitian is required to keep up-to-date on nutrition research, current trends in foods and disease conditions through continuing education courses. At the Wexford Health + Wellness Pavilion, nutrition expertise is provided in the following areas: • Diabetes • Heart disease • High blood pressure • Digestive disorders • Elevated blood cholesterol and triglycerides • Kidney disease • Osteoporosis • Weight management Services are provided through individual appointments and classes.
