ALABAMA Propane Gas Association 173 Medical Center Drive Prattville, AL 36066 334-358-9590 • 334-358-9520 FAX DATA COLLECTION INCENTIVE 2013-2014 ALABAMA COMMERCIAL PROPANE MOWER INCENTIVE GUIDELINES This program is available on commercial propane mowers purchased or converted on or after October 1, 2013 until September 30, 2014 or funds are depleted, whichever comes first. I. Purpose The purpose of Alabama Propane Gas Association’s (APGA) 2013-2014 Commercial Propane Mower Data Incentive Program is to encourage private or public commercial mowing fleets in the state of Alabama to purchase a dedicated propane lawn mower or convert a lawn mower to propane. A $1,000 DATA COLLECTION INCENTIVE will be available per mower until funds are depleted. The application, proper documentation of the purchase or conversion along with other required information must be submitted before the incentive will be distributed. II. Availability of Funds The Commercial Propane Mower Data Collection Incentive Program shall be capped at $18,700. This program is funded through assessments paid by propane marketers. In order to secure an incentive, a Purchase Order Number (PO) must be obtained from APGA by calling 334-358-9590. PO’s will expire after 30 days of request unless the application along with documentation is received at APGA. Failure to obtain a PO may result in non-funding of the incentive. III. Qualifying Commercial Mowers Applicants are limited to two (2) incentive per company. Starting April 1, 2014, if funding remains, companies can request a third incentive. • Qualifying mowers must be commercial grade walk behind, belt drive, or zero turn riders purchased from a participating “Service Dealer.” • Eligible mowers and conversion systems must be Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and/or California Air Resource Board (CARB) certified. • Mowers purchased or converted must be operating in Alabama ONLY. IV. Participation Guidelines A. Participating Service Dealers are responsible for educating Purchaser about the care, maintenance and operation of the mowers. B. The Purchaser’s fleet may include private licensed landscape contractors, state, federal, municipalities, counties, park departments, cemeteries, school districts and universities. C. The Purchaser shall agree to follow the equipment manufacturer’s recommendations for maintenance of propane engine and conversion equipment. D. The Purchaser shall agree that the equipment for which an incentive is provided must remain in use, in the service area, for a minimum of one year or until sold. E. The Purchaser shall agree not to remove alternative fuel conversion equipment permanently from the service area for a period of one year. F. Installation of a conversion system must be performed at a Participating Service Dealer. G. Converted equipment must have less than 1,000 operation hours, and displace at least 200 gallons of gasoline per year. H. All incentive recipients will be required to submit a pre-survey to be

included with the application and a post-survey one year from the date of the purchase/conversion.

V. Compliance A. The completed application must be submitted within 30 days of the mower purchase or conversion date. Incomplete applications will delay processing. The following should be submitted: _ Completed application _ Invoice for purchase or conversion _ Copy of the EPA/CARB certification form _ Pre-Survey _ Post Survey Acknowledgment B.

Application: Incentive requests must be submitted on the approved application form and will be considered on a first-come, first-serve basis according to the date of the PO requested from APGA. Application and documentation can be mailed, hand-delivered, emailed, or faxed.

Payment: APGA may approve incentives subject to availability of funds. Applicants have no legal right or entitlement to receive incentives under this program, and receipt of a complete and correct application does not bind APGA to approve payment of an incentive to any applicant. APGA will review incentive applications and send checks within 30 days of receipt of application.

The Alabama Propane Gas Association disclaims any liability for any personal injury, property damage, business losses or other damages of any nature whatsoever, whether special, indirect, consequential or compensatory, directly or indirectly arising from the purchase of or conversion to a propane lawn mower.
