01 Product Description and Features Solid extruded aluminum tongue and groove siding and soffit Rain-screen system. Available in high performance fluorocarbon coating finish or powder coated wood grains. Uses • Designed for cladding applications to provide a long life, maintenance free, effective rain screen tongue and groove system. Product Attributes and Characteristics • Extruded aluminum V-line secured by a variety of matching extruded aluminum frame components. Two-part snap-lock assemblies are used to secure the V-line Plank, conceal all fasteners, and allow for ease of install. Product Name v-line

Also available in highly durable wood grain finish options. • V-line Plank bow does not exceed 0.8% of panel overall dimension in width or length. • V-line system dimensions allow for field adjustment and thermal movement.

02 Selection Criteria • Attachment system allows for thermal movement due to expansion and contraction for material temperature range of -29°C to +82°C (- 20°F to +180°F). • Unique tab-over design allows for each V-line Plank to expand and contract across a broad temperature spectrum without causing buckling or oil-canning.

06 Performance Requirements Components • Design and size components to withstand dead and live loads caused by positive and negative wind pressure acting normal to plane of wall as calculated in accordance with applicable code. Movement • Accommodate movement within system without damage to components or movement within system; movement between system and perimeter components when subject to seasonal temperature cycling; dynamic loading and release of loads; deflection of structural support framing. Shop Drawings Indicate dimensions, layout, joints, expansion joints, construction details, methods of anchorage, and interface with adjacent materials. LEED Submittals Provide documentation of how the requirements of Credit will be met: 1. Delivery, Storage, and Handling Package and store products under cover in manufacturer’s unopened packaging until ready for transport and installation. Protect V-Line from accelerated weathering by removing or venting sheet plastic shipping wrap. Store prefinished material off ground protected from weather, to prevent twisting, bending, or abrasion, and to provide ventilation. Slope metal sheets to ensure drainage. Prevent contact with materials capable of causing discoloration or staining.

21 Preparation •

Ensure all structural support are aligned and condition is acceptable for installation of V-line system.



Ensure building surfaces are smooth, clean, dry and free from defects detrimental to the installation of the system.



Inspect V-line Planks and components before installation and verify that there is no shipping damage. Do not install damaged product.

Install products in accordance with the manufacturer’s instructions.



Erect components plumb and true.



Adjust assembly to secure V-line safely to wall while allowing for expansion and contraction of components. Ensure extrusion tabs overlap panel edges by at least half of extrusion tab depth.



Do not cut, trim, weld, or braze component parts during erection in manner which would damage finish, decrease strength, or result in visual imperfection or failure in performance.



Apply isolation coating to areas of contact between dissimilar metals.
