DESCRIPTION & SCORING Rally®

The AKC National Championship will consist of four classes. Each Novice, Advanced and Excellent entry will compete twice in the class entered and each Rally Advanced/Excellent (RAE) entry will compete two times in both the Advanced and Excellent classes. Cumulative scores and times will be used to determine placements in each of the four classes. If there are any ties for placements, each team will run once for score and time. In the case of ties for RAE placements, the team will run an Excellent course. For this National Event, scoring will be in accordance with the AKC Rally® Regulations with the following exceptions: The first attempt/performance of each station will be evaluated and scored accordingly. Failure to perform the principal parts of each station on the first attempt/performance will result in an IP (Incorrectly Performed -10 points) penalty. There will not be any 3 point retry penalties. The maximum penalty for each station will remain at 10 points.

DOGS ELIGIBLE TO ENTER This trial is open to all dogs , which meet the criteria below, that are 6 months of age or older that are registered with the American Kennel Club or that have AKC Limited Registration, ILP/PAL or an AKC Canine Partners listing number or approved FSS breeds eligible to participate. Dogs may only be entered in one class. Qualifying Period was from December 1, 2012 – November 30, 2013 Novice Class Qualifications Dogs must have earned a confirmed Rally Novice (RN) title during the qualifying period. Dogs must have earned three (3) scores of 90 or more points during the qualifying period from the Rally Novice class (may count scores of 90 or more from runs to achieve the RN title). Advanced Class Qualifications Dogs must have earned a confirmed Rally Advanced (RA) title during the qualifying period. Dogs must have earned three (3) scores of 90 or more points during the qualifying period from the Rally Advanced class (may count scores of 90 or more from runs to achieve the RA title). Excellent Class Qualifications Dogs must have earned a confirmed Rally Excellent (RE) title during the qualifying period. Dogs must have earned three (3) scores of 90 or more points during the qualifying period from the Rally Excellent class (may count scores of 90 or more from runs to achieve the RE title). Rally Advanced Excellent Class Qualifications Dogs must have earned a confirmed Rally Advanced Excellent (RAE) title at any time prior to, or during; but no later than by the end of the qualifying period. Dogs must have earned three (3) scores of 95 or more points during the qualifying period. Dogs must have earned at least five (5) double qualifying scores from the Advanced B & Excellent B classes during the qualifying period. Entries will be arranged according to the jump height of the dogs, per Chapter 3, Section 2B of the AKC Rally® Regulations. 3

Please make checks payable to: AKC Rally® National Championship. Entries CLOSE Friday, February 14, 2014 at 4:00 p.m. Eastern Time No entries will be accepted by phone or hand delivery. Express mail & overnight entries must include the signature waiver allowing them to deliver the package. All entries will be confirmed via email within 24-48 hours of receipt, please be sure to provide your email address. Any inquires may be directed to Lisa Strickland at [email protected] Illegible entries will not be processed and will be returned to the exhibitor. Returned checks do not constitute a valid entry. A twenty-five ($25.00) dollar collection fee will be added to the amount of each returned check.

ENTRY LIMITS & WAIT-LIST Entries will be limited to 80 dogs in Novice, 80 dogs in Advanced, 80 dogs in Excellent and 160 dogs in Rally Advanced Excellent and an email confirmation will be issued when the entry is processed. When entry limits have been met, a wait-list will be kept. If an entry is cancelled prior to the closing date for entries (February 14 th), a dog that has been wait-listed for that class will be confirmed in the event. Notifications will be sent to advise if your dog has been wait-listed or accepted in the event.

CRATING INFORMATION Each crating space will be approximately 3’ x 5’, per dog entered. Each exhibitor will be required to display an information card on the outside of each crate; card(s) will be supplied in the exhibitor check-in packet. The information card must have your name and emergency contact information (cell phone # or other). Un-entered dogs will only be allowed in the facility if they can share a crate with an entered dog, or if their crate can be stacked on top of an entered dog’s crate within the 3’ x 5’ space. No additional crating space may be used for un-entered dogs. No Ex-pens will be allowed in the crating area.

Dogs cannot be left overnight at the event.

NOTICE TO EXHIBITORS ENTRIES NOT ON THE provided OFFICIAL AKC ENTRY FORM OR PHOTOCOPIES OF THE ENTRY FORM without the Agreement and Rules on the reverse side of the Official AKC Entry Form are NOT ACCEPTABLE. ERRORS ON ENTRY FORMS Owners are responsible for errors on entry forms and no entry fee will be refunded in the event of such errors or cancellation of entries after trial has closed. RETURNED CHECKS - A charge of $25.00 will be applied for each returned check. TELEPHONE, HAND DELIVERIES AND UNSIGNED ENTRIES cannot be accepted. ENTRIES RECEIVED WITHOUT FEES will not be accepted. EXPRESS DELIVERIES must be sent with the delivery signature waived. NO ENTRY SHALL BE MADE AND NO ENTRY SHALL BE ACCEPTED, WHICH SPECIFIES ANY CONDITIONS AS TO ITS ACCEPTANCE. ENTRY FEES shall not be refunded in the event that a dog is absent, disqualified, excused by Veterinarian or Judge, or barred from championship by action of Trial Committee. If because of riots, civil disturbances or other acts beyond the control of the management it is impossible to open or to complete the trial, no refund of entry fees will be made. REFUNDS for cancellation of entries prior to the closing date for entries of the trial will be made within 45 days after the closing date for the event. No entry fee will be refunded if the trial cannot open or be completed by reason of riots, civil disturbances, fire, an act of God, public emergency, act of a public enemy, or any other cause beyond the control of the organizing committee. No entry fee will be refunded in the event a dog is absent, disqualified, excused, or barred from championship by the action of the Trial Committee. ENTRY FEES FOR BITCHES IN SEASON will be refunded if the Trial Secretary is notified in writing at least 30 minutes prior to the start of the event on Friday, March 28, 2014. Vet statements must be provided to the Trial Secretary in writing to receive a refund. Entry fees will not be refunded for bitches in season if not received on or before March 28, 2014. Refunds for bitches in season will be made within 45 days after the event. EXHIBITOR CHECK IN TIMES / FACILITY ACCESS. All exhibitors are required to check in during the times and locations specified under the heading "Exhibitor Check-In Times" specified in this premium list. View your entry confirmation letter for specific times and locations. ALL DOGS MUST BE ON LEASH held by the handler at all times when on trial grounds except when competing on the course. Dogs may NOT be on retractable leads or long-lines while inside the buildings. This club does agree to arbitrate claims as set forth on the Official AKC Entry Form for this event.

This year's exhibitor's catalog will be 8.5 X 5.5 inches, allowing a full-page ad area approximately 4.5 X 7.5 inches to post your message and/or picture. Camera ready ads are accepted in high-resolution press quality PDFs (preferred). JPEG or TIFF files are also acceptable (minimum 300 pixels/inch). If you are sending photos separately, the photos should be scanned to a finished size and at a minimum of 300 pixels/inch. Do not forget to include the correct orientation. Full page ads MUST be in a portrait orientation, and half page ads MUST be in a landscape orientation. If mailing, please send only high quality photos for scanning purposes. I (we) agree that the club holding this event has the right to refuse this entry for cause which the club shall deem sufficient. In consideration of the acceptance of this entry and of the holding of this event and of the opportunity to have the dog judged and to win prizes, ribbons, or trophies, I (we) agree to hold the AKC, the event-giving club, their members, directors, governors, officers, agents, superintendents or event secretary and the owner and/or lessor of the premises and any provider of services that are necessary to hold this event and any employees or volunteers of the aforementioned parties, and any AKC approved judge, judging at this event, harmless from any claim for loss or injury which may be alleged to have been caused directly or indirectly to any person or thing by the act of this dog while in or about the event premises or grounds or near any entrance thereto, and I (we) personally assume all responsibility and liability for any such claim; and I (we) further agree to hold the aforementioned parties harmless from any claim for loss, injury or damage to this dog. If the event class in which you are entering your dog is divided, then, in addition to designating the class, specify the particular division of the class in which you are entering your dog, i.e., A or B division. 3. A dog must be entered in the name of the person who actually owned it at the time entries for an event closed. If a registered dog has been acquired by a new owner it must be entered in the name of its new owner in any event for which entries closed after the date of acquirement, regardless of whether the new owner has received the registration certificate indicating that the dog is recorded in his/her name. State on entry form whether transfer application has been mailed to the AKC. (For complete rules, refer to Chapter 11, Section 3 of the Rules Applying to Dog Shows.) 4. Dogs listed in the AKC Canine PartnersSM Program may be eligible to enter all-breed AKC obedience trials at the club’s option. These dogs should be listed as All American Dog and must include their AKC number on the entry form and check the AKC No. box. Sire and Dam information shall remain blank for mixed breed entrants.
