QUICK INSTALLATION GUIDE
AIRIS POWER SERVER SRV200. Quick Installation Guide. 1. Hardware Installation. Please follow the steps below to install hardware: 1. Get the included Ethernet cable. Connect one end of it to the ADSL/Cable modem and the other end to the WAN port on the AIRIS POWER SERVER. 2. Get another Ethernet cable. Connect one end of it to the PC or hub and the other end to one of the LAN ports on the AIRIS POWER SERVER. 3. Turn the ADSL/Cable modem on. Note: Cable modem users MUST disconnect the cable modem from the wall outlet for at least 2 minutes before turning it on again. If there are more PCs or hubs to be connected, please repeat step 2. 4. Connect the included power adapter to the power socket on the AIRIS POWER SERVER and then plug the power adapter into a wall outlet. 5. Turn on the AIRIS POWER SERVER. If the link LED of the WAN port is not ON,switch the WAN MDI/MDIX switch to the alternate setting. The hardware installation is now complete.

Click the Properties button in Local Area Connection Status. Then the "Local Area Connection Properties" window shows up as Figure 2.

Select Internet protocol (TCP/IP) item and then click the Properties button. The "Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) Properties" window shows up (Figure 3).

Select the "Obtain an IP address automatically" radio button. And click The OK button.
3. Connect to the Web-Based Manager Please follow the steps to connect to the web-based manager: 1.
Open a browser on the PC that is DIRECTLY connected to the AIRIS POWER SERVER. Type"http://172.16.1.1" in address field. And then press Enter key.

An authentication window shows up to prompt you to type the username and the password. Leave the username blank and type "admin" as a password. (Figure 4 )

QUICK INSTALLATION GUIDE 4. Web-Based Manager - Basic Settings Start to configure your network environment by clicking the Basic Settings in left menu. The Basic Settings page is shown as Figure 6.
(Fig. 7) The Basic Settings page contains Network Policy, Internal Network Interface, Domain Name Server, and External Network Interface. You must click the apply button after you finish inputting the settings. You will see a rebooting window as Figure 7. During the rebooting phase, do not turn off or unplug the Airis Power Server.

QUICK INSTALLATION GUIDE Domain Name Server Most of the time this information is not needed, as your ISP will automatically provide the information. Please ask the DNS IP address from your ISP if one is required.
External Network Interface External network interface includes ADSL/PPPoE , DHCP Client and Fixed IP Address settings. They are illustrated as follows: Example 1: If you are connecting through a fixed IP address from the ISP. Example 2: If you are connecting through a dynamic IP address from ISP. Example 3: If you usually enter a username and password to access the Internet. Example 1: Fixed IP Address Settings
If you have a fixed IP address from your ISP to access the Internet, please follow the steps below: 1. 2. 3. 4. 5.
Select the Fixed IP Address radio button. Enter the Public IP address. Enter the External Gateway. Enter the External Netmask. Click the apply button.

IIf you have a dynamic IP address from your ISP to access the Internet, please select the DHCP Client radio button. There is no need to give an external IP address, external gateway address or netmask. The DHCP server will dynamically assign these fields. Note: Cable modem users MUST disconnect the cable modem from the wall outlet for at least 2 minutes before turning it on again.
Example 3: ADSL Connection.
Most ADSL connections do not give you a fixed IP address. In this case, you must enter the user name and password provided by your ISP for authentication. Please follow the steps below. 1. Please select the ADSL/PPPoE radio button. 2. In ADSL/PPPoE Setting: Enter the User Name and Password. 3. Click the apply button to save your settings.

QUICK INSTALLATION GUIDE After completing your configuration, each time the AIRIS POWER SERVERboots, it will try to connect with your ISP and the ISP will assign the Server Appliance an external IP address.
5. RAID Initialization Wizard The first time you use the NAS feature, you must initialize the hard disk. the AIRIS POWER SERVERprovides an easy way to initialize the hard disk via the wizard. Follow the wizard in order to properly setup the drive. Select the RAID Initialization option and refer to the steps below: 1. 2. 3. 4.
Select the Enable radio button and click the apply button in S.M.A.R.T. field. In HD Power Management Setting, select the time in Turn off HD field. It specifies the idled time length of the HD to enter the standby mode.(Figure 8) Select the type of RAID you want to apply above, then click on the icon to begin the initialization process. A warning window shows up. Please click the "OK" button (Figure 9).

The Step 1 page should now appear. To set the information for file sharing. Please enter the workgroup name (make sure this matches the workgroup on your network), the computer description and share folder name (Figure 10). You can create more share folders after the initialization process.

Click the Next button to continue RAID initialization. (Click the Cancel button to leave the RAID initialization process. The Step 2 page should now appear. In this page we set which user(s) or group(s) can access the shared folder. Please refer Chapter 9 to establish the users and groups. In the Selection field, select the Users radio button to share the folder by users (Figure 11) or select the Groups radio button to share by groups (Figure 12).

Click the Next button. At this point, the system starts to initialize the hard disk. A percentage bar shows the progress. Note: Users without Java will get an error message. You can ignore and return to the main wizard screen to see the current percentage. It will not update unless you refresh your browser. 10. When the formatting is finished, it shows " Initialization - Complete ". 11. In NAS Management -> File Sharing, the shared folder you created above should now appear on the Share Name List.

Tome un cable ethernet.Conecte uno de los extremos a su modem o router ADSL al puerto WAN del dispositivo. Tome otro cable ethernet.Conecte uno de los extremos a su PC o al Hub de la red y el otro extremo al dispositivo. Encienda el modem o router ADSL. Nota: los usuarios de cable modem, DEBEN desconectar el cable modem de su conexión durante al menos 2 minutos antes de volver a conectarse de nuevo. Si hay más PCs o Hubs para conectar, repita el paso 2. Conecte la fuente de alimentación al dispositivo y luego al enchufe de la pared. Encienda el dispositivo. Si la luz del puerto WAN no está encendida, cambie la posición del interruptor WAN MDI/MDIX. Depende de si el cable ethernet es cruzado o no lo es.
En este punto la instalación hardware está completa.
Verificación de la conexión con el PC. Compruebe la siguiente configuración en su PC: No asigne una dirección IP en el PC. 1.
Acceda a la interfaz de configuración de la red: [Inicio –> Panel de control –> Conexiones de red], Haga doble clic en Red de área local. (Fig. 1)

(Fig. 7) La interfaz de configuración básica contempla los siguientes aspectos: Network Policy, Internal Network Interface, Domain Name Server e External Network Interface. Para que los cambios tengan efecto debe de pulsarse el botón Apply. Cuando acabe de configurar y pulse el botón de Apply aparecerá una ventana indicando que el dispositivo se está reiniciando (Rebooting, Fig. 8). Durante la fase de reinicio, no apague o desenchufe el dispositivo.

GUÍA RÁPIDA Servidor de nombres de dominio DNS Por lo general esta información no es necesaria ya que su proveedor de acceso a Internet se la proporciona de manera automática. En el caso de requerir una, consulte con su proveedor de servicios.
Interfaz de red externa. External Network Interface. La interfaz de red externa incluyen las siguientes configuraciones: ADSL/PPPoE, Cliente DHCP y dirección IP fija. En los siguientes ejemplos se muestra cómo son estas configuraciones. Ejemplo 1: Conexión con una IP fija proporcionada por su proveedor de servicios de Internet. Ejemplo 2: Conexión a través de una dirección IP dinámica proporcionada por su proveedor de servicios de Internet. Ejemplo 3: Si el acceso es a través de una conexión PPP con nombre de usuario y clave. Ejemplo 1: Configuración con dirección IP fija
Si tiene una dirección IP fija proporcionada por su proveedor de acceso a Internet, seleccione la opción Fixed IP Address, Introduzca la dirección IP pública, la dirección del Gateway y la máscara de red.

En el caso de una configuración con direcciones IP dinámicas con DHCP, seleccione la opción DHCP CLient. No es necesario proporcionar una dirección IP, una dirección de Gateway o máscara de red ya que se configurarán automáticamente al conectar el dispositivo gracias al servidor DHCP. Nota: los usuarios de cable modem, deberán desconectarse de su conexión durante al menos 2 minutos antes de volver a tener acceso a la red. Ejemplo 3: Conexión ADSL .
La mayoría de las conexiones ADSL no tienen IP fija. En este caso se debe proporcionar el nombre de usuario y la clave de acceso proporcionada por su proveedor de servicios de Internet para realizar la conexión. Siga los siguientes pasos:

GUÍA RÁPIDA • Seleccione la opción ADSL/PPPoE • En el apartado ADSL/PPPoE Setting: introduzca el nombre de usuario en User Name y la clave de acceso en Password. • Para finalizar pulse el botón Apply para grabar los cambios. Después de completar la configuración, cada vez que el dispositivo se reinicie, tratará de conectarse con su proveedor de servicios de Internet que le asignará una nueva dirección IP externa.
Asistente de configuración de RAID La primera vez que se utilice la habilidad NAS del dispositivo, debe de prepararse el disco duro. El dispositivo proporciona un medio fácil para dejar listo el disco duro a través de un asistente. Siga las instrucciones del asistente para configurar correctamente la unidad. Seleccione la opción RAID Initialization y siga estos pasos: 1. 2.
Seleccione el botón Enable y pulse el botón de Apply en le campo S.M.A.R.T. En la sección HD Power Management Setting, donde podrá configurar el modo de ahorro de energía de los discos duros, seleccione la opción que prefiera en el campo Turn off HD, de esta forma se establece el tiempo que deben de estar los discos sin actividad antes de dormirlos para ahorrar energía.(Fig. 9)

Seleccione el nivel de RAID que quiere configurar y después pulse el icono de comenzar el proceso de configuración. Aparecerá un mensaje de alerta, indicando que los datos de los discos se perderán. Pulse OK para continuar.(Fig. 10)

Aparecerá la pantalla que muestra la primera etapa de configuración en la que se da la opción de compartir ficheros, introduzca el nombre del grupo de trabajo, asegúrese que coincide con el nombre del grupo de trabajo de la red. Introduzca la descripción del dispositivo. Puede añadir más directorios más tarde, después de este proceso, si es necesario.(Fig. 11)

Pulse el botón de Next para continuar la configuración de RAID. Si desea cancelar el proceso todavía está a tiempo pulsando el botón de Cancel. La segunda etapa del proceso de configuración de RAID recoge la configuración de usuarios y grupos que tendrán acceso a las carpetas compartidas. Puede omitir este paso y continuar con el fin de crearlos más tarde. En el campo Selection, seleccione los usuarios o grupos con los que quiere compartir las carpetas.(Fig .12 y 13)

Pulse el botón de Next para continuar. El sistema configurará en este momento el RAID con las opciones elegidas. Se mostrará una barra de progreso. Nota: los usuarios que no tengan Java o que no lo tengan habilitado obtendrán un mensaje de error. Puede ignorarse este mensaje de error y volver a la pantalla del asistente de configuración para visualizar el porcentaje de progreso. Para percibir los cambios en el avance del proceso deberá refrescar la pantalla. Cuando el formateo haya finalizado, se mostrará el mensaje “Initialization -Complete”. En la opción “NAS Management – File Sharing”, aparecerá el directorio compartido creado anteriormente en la configuración. El estado del volumen, muestra la información de RAID. Incluye el nivel de RAID 0 ó 1, el tamaño y el estado de RAID. El campo S.M.A.R.T. mostrará si está activada esta característica. Para que esta característica funcione, el o los discos duros instalados deben de soportarla.
