AIRFIELD ACTION FORUM 2013: OPTIMISING AIRPORT CAPACITY INTEGRATING AIRPORT SURFACE MOVEMENT AND ON-BOARD AIRCRAFT SYSTEMS LONDON / 21 MARCH 2013 Keynote Speaker CAPT HANK KRAKOWSKI, CEO, THE CONURE AVIATION GROUP LLC Captain Hank Krakowski, CEO of Conure Aviation is the former Chief Operating Officer of the United States Air Traffic Organisation under the FAA, the largest Air Traffic Organisation in the world with over 55,000 flight operations daily. Prior to the FAA, Captain Krakowski retired after 30 years with United Airlines as the Vice President of Flight Operations and Chief Pilot. During his career at United, Captain Krakowski also served as Vice President of Safety, Security and Quality Assurance and was previously Director of Flight Operations Control, accountable for United’s Operations Control Center. He was in charge of the Operations Control Center during the 9-11 terrorist event and the subsequent grounding and re-starting of the airline. He has over 18,000 flight hours in various aircraft and owns and maintains a vintage military aircraft for recreation. He holds a BS degree in Aeronautics and Engineering and a MS degree in Business and Management.

President PHIL BOYLE, PRESIDENT, ROYAL AERONAUTICAL SOCIETY Currently President of the Royal Aeronautical Society, the world’s oldest and most prestigious aerospace organisation, Phil Boyle grew up in Portsmouth where he attended Portsmouth Grammar School. He read Engineering Science at University College, Durham and completed his RAF officer and pilot training as a member of No 1 Graduate Entry at RAFC Cranwell. Phil’s first operational post was on No 36 Sqn, Hercules, followed by a tour as the Wing Weapons Officer for the RAF Germany Harrier Force. He then spent two tours flying Nimrods on No 42 Sqn (Falklands War 1982). In 1984 Phil studied on the GD Aerosystems Course where he won the Aries Trophy. His final tour in the RAF

was as a trials pilot at A&AEE Boscombe Down. At this time he was the only pilot in the RAF who was also a Chartered Engineer. Whilst at A&AEE, Phil completed his MSc in Management Sciences at Southampton University. After retiring from the RAF in 1987, Phil worked as a consultant for two London-based management consultancies before joining Ramsey Hall in 1991. He has been the Managing Director of Ramsey Hall Ltd since 1993 during which period the company has established itself as one of the UK’s most respected Talent Management Consultancies. Phil first became actively involved with the Society as a branch committee member at Boscombe Down. He was elected to Council in 1992 and has since been re-elected an unprecedented five times. He was a founder member of the Strategic Review and External Affairs Boards. He spent 11 years on the EAB, latterly as Chairman, and in 2004 was awarded the Sir Robert Hardingham Sword for outstanding service to the Society. Phil is a member of the Society’s Council, Advisory Committee and Finance Board. He chaired the Society’s Governance Working Group from 2008 until November 2011, when he was formally elected as President and now as President is charged with implementing the most significant changes to the RAeS’ governance in over 50 years. Additionally Phil is a Trustee of the Society’s pension fund and has been Chairman of the Solent Branch since 1994.

During his time at Fraport, Thorsten has been involved in various local, national and European projects. His professional background is in the field of airport planning & management, as well as airport operations and Air-Traffic-Management with projects such as CDM and A-SMGCS. Thorsten currently works as a Senior Project Manager for the Airside Solutions Department at Fraport and has been involved in SESAR activities from the beginning actively contributing to the production of the European ATM Masterplan. He is now the coordinator of SEAC, a consortium of 6 major European airport operators (Amsterdam, London, Munich, Paris, Zurich and Fraport AG) representing the consortium in the Programme Committee of the SESAR Joint Undertaking and working on the SESAR Operational Concept. In this function Thorsten has been a regular member of ACIEurope’s Technical & Operations Safety Committee and the Single European Sky Steering Group over the past number of years. Besides his job at the airport, Thorsten is lecturing “Processes in Aviation Management” at Frankfurt University of Applied Sciences. CAPT FRANK CHAPMAN, EXPERIMENTAL TEST PILOT, AIRBUS Frank Chapman has a Masters in Engineering Science from the University of Oxford. He started his pilot career as a RAF Operational/Test Pilot from 1980 to 1996. While a Pilot at the RAF, he held a number of positions such as EPNER Test Pilots School in France, Experimental Test Pilot in Farnborough and Flight Test Advisor and President for Chapter 108 Experimental Aircraft Association. He was an Airline Pilot with Monarch Airlines from 1997 to 2003

flying the Airbus A320 and A330. He also was Test Pilot and Senior Coach during this time. Since 2004, he has been employed at Airbus as an Experimental Test Pilot. Frank is a Fellow of the Royal Aeronautical Society as well as being a Member of the Institute of Linguists. He is also Liveryman of the Guild of Air Pilots and Navigators in the UK along with being a Display Pilot for Shuttleworth Collection since 1997. CAPT EDWARD DAVIDSON, VICE PRESIDENT - FLIGHT OPERATIONS AND NETWORKS, PORTER AIRLINES INC. Captain Ed Davidson has over 35 years of active participation in the operation and management of airlines and air transport support entities. He is presently the Vice President of Flight And System Operations Control at Porter Airlines in Toronto Canada, the third largest airline in the country. Prior to his current role, Captain Davidson was Senior Vice President and Director of the Aerospace Practice at Tetra Tech AMT, a Washington-based multi-national consultancy. Before that assignment Ed was the Senior Vice President of Fleet Operations for Emirates Airline in Dubai, Vice President, Flight Operations at Mesaba Airlines, a Delta Regional Airline and Director of Global Safety at IATA. He began his career as a military and airline pilot and later Base Chief Pilot for Northwest Airlines. PETER ERIKSEN, CEO ERIKSON AVIATION CONSULTING Peter Eriksen previously worked for 15 years as Air Traffic Controller in Copenhagen ACC before joining EUROCONTROL, in 1996 where he first was project manager for airspace optimisation projects such as Free Routes airspace and involved in development of Human Machine Interface like ODID and Demark Sweden Interface. For 10 years, Peter was head of EUROCONTROL’s Airport Research Program, leading the development of Collaborative

Peter is Chairman of several international Working Groups such as EUROCAE WG69, Airport CDM. Peter is now CEO of Eriksen Aviation Consulting, a small Danish Consultancy specialised in optimisation of airports including integration of airports in the ATM network, airside optimisation and runway capacity, working with Metron Aviation’s Advanced Research and Engineering. CAPT MARK FEUERSTEIN, 747 CHIEF PILOT, THE BOEING COMPANY Captain Mark Feuerstein is Chief Pilot of 747 programs responsible for engineering flight-test activities related to all Boeing 747 airplane models. He is also very involved in design and test activities of the new 747-8. He was appointed to this role in October 2007. Previous assignments include Chief Pilot for New Airplane Product Development, Assistant Chief Pilot 747, Assistant Chief Pilot 787, and Deputy Military and Special Projects Pilot. Mark joined The Boeing Company in 1997. He received his Bachelor of Science degree in Aeronautical Engineering from Purdue University in 1981. In 1987, he graduated from the US Naval Test Pilot School as an Engineering Test Pilot, and in 1994 he received his Masters of Science degree in Aeronautical Engineering from the US Naval Postgraduate School. He has more than 8000 hours of flight time in over 100 types of airplanes and is type rated in the B-707, B-737, B-747, B-747-400, B-757, B-767, B-777, B-787, A-320, and A-330.

Mark is an Associate Fellow of the Society of Experimental Test Pilots and a Fellow of the Royal Aeronautical Society. WOLFGANG HATZACK, CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER, ATRiCS Wolfgang Hatzack was born in Leverkusen, Germany where he also graduated from the local High School. After being scheduled for a pilot career at Lufthansa in 1992 and earning his private pilot license in 1993, Wolfgang left the aviation domain to follow an academic path. He received his MSc. in Computer Science in 1996 where he developed a taste for robotics. During his PhD studies at the Institute of Computer Science at the University of Freiburg (Germany), he won the Robot Soccer World Championship in 1998. As an enthusiastic pilot he then shifted his focus back to the world of aviation where he applied different Artificial Intelligence techniques to develop algorithms for the optimisation of airport surface traffic. On the basis of the resulting prototypes he founded ATRiCS Advanced Traffic Solution in 2002, a company that is now delivering highly automated decision support and traffic control systems which are today in operations at world leading airports such as Dubai, Frankfurt and Incheon/Seoul. DR NIKOLAUS HERRMANN, DIRECTOR, FEDERAL SUPERVISORY AUTHORITY OF AIR NAVIGATION SERVICES Nikolaus Herrmann is the Director of the German Federal Supervisory Authority for Air Navigation Services (Bundesaufsichtsamt für Flugsicherung) and has been so since the foundation of the authority in 2009. For almost a decade, he had been a lecturer and professor at the College for Public Administration in Meissen, Germany. His teaching experience extends to other academic institutions in Germany and the UK, in particular the University of East Anglia where he taught German Law and Language between 1988 – 1991. Nikolaus has had a lot of valuable work experience including posts at the Hessian Ministry of Transport in Wiesbaden, Germany, the Saxonian Ministry for

He has published in the fields of aviation, planning, environmental and European law. DR STEVE JARVIS, DIRECTOR, JARVIS BAGSHAW LTD After ten years at Cranfield University, Dr Jarvis set up ‘Jarvis Bagshaw Ltd’ (with Professor Mike Bagshaw) to concentrate on practical research interventions within industry. He works with a number of large operators including British Airways to enhance pilot human factors, particularly in the areas of automation and workload. Dr Jarvis has also performed a number of assessments (human factors reviews) of new RNP and RNAV operations for Air New Zealand, on Boeing, Airbus and Bombardier aircraft. The work also took in the wider operation including procedure design, navigation and contingencies, and has raised issues which were recognised and distributed by ICAO. Dr Jarvis has also researched the effects of automation in the air traffic domain. Dr Jarvis is a visiting fellow of Cranfield University and a visiting lecturer at Kings College, London. ROGER MARSH, DEPUTY GENERAL MANAGER HEATHROW AIRPORT, NATS Roger was an Air Traffic Control Officer in the Royal Navy for 18 years; ashore in the UK, on exchange with the US Navy and at sea. He managed Air Safety in both UK and NATO maritime exercises, before transferring to the RAF in 1997 as a Flight Operations Officer. Posts in airfield operations management, at RAF stations Benson and Valley, career management and academia followed, as well in MOD, NATO and, finally, the Military Aviation Authority. In Nov 2012, on retirement from the RAF, he joined NATS as a Deputy General Manager at Heathrow Airport.

GERHARD TAUSS, SESAR PROGRAMME MANAGER, DFS Gerhard Tauss is the SESAR Programme Manager at DFS. He has been with the company since 1994 and is responsible for the overall contribution of DFS to the SESAR programme. After his studies, the physicist worked on the Operational Systems Development at Deutsche Lufthansa in Germany. After his change to DFS he was in several leading positions in research and development projects (like air ground datalink). He directly assisted the Managing Director of Technology at DFS on R&D matters, before he finally led the establishment and coordination of DFS´ SESAR contribution.

Chairmen ROLAND BECKER, DEPUTY HEAD FLIGHT OPS ENGINEER, ZURICH AIRPORT AND DEPUTY CHAIR, AOT Roland has been dealing with Surface Management matters for more than 5 years and is currently the Deputy Head of Flight OPS Engineering at Zurich Airport. Besides being SEAC’s Contribution Manager and coordinator for their input to Surface Management projects in SESAR, he has also represented airports in the last update of the ATM Masterplan. Furthermore, he’s been Co-Chairman for EUROCONTROL’s Airport Operation Team for more than 3 years. As an active pilot he’s been involved in aviation for 20 years. DAVID BOWEN, HEAD OF ATM SYSTEMS, SESAR JOINT UNDERTAKING David Bowen is Head of ATM Systems at the SESAR JU with responsibility for the ATM content of the SESAR programme. Beginning his career at the Defence Research Agency in Malvern. He has nearly 20 years of experience in the development ATM systems. David spent 4 years working at EUROCONTROL before returning to Malvern (now QinetiQ) in 2000 as head of the ATM Systems group. Before joining SESAR in 2009 he worked for EUROCAE with responsibility for standards development activities and the

David has a degree in Theoretical Physics from the University of St Andrews. HENK HOF, SESAR WORK PACKAGE C LEADER (ATM MASTER PLAN), EUROCONTROL Henk J. Hof started his professional career in 1985 as policy advisor on Communication, Navigation and Surveillance matters for the Dutch ATC authorities. He was member of the Dutch delegation for the ICAO FANS I and II committees and member of a number of ICAO Panels. In 1991 Mr Hof joined the EUROCONTROL Agency where he started as Project Manager responsible for the standardisation and implementation of the Aeronautical Telecommunication Network (ATN). In his current position, as Head of the Master Plan Maintenance Unit and Leader of the SESAR Work Package C, he is responsible for the maintenance of the European ATM Master Plan. The recent update of the European ATM Master Plan received the 2013 Janes Award in the category of best contribution to European ATM. Mr. Hof is the EUROCONTROL member and the Co-Chair of the ICAO ATM Requirements and Performance Panel (ATMRPP).
