Introduction

The Isle of Man has many years experience of financing, insuring and providing corporate structures for aircraft registered in other countries and on the 1st May 2007 launched its own aircraft register. The establishment of the Isle of Man Aircraft Registry for private or corporate aircraft and helicopters has enabled the Island to become a one-stop shop for worldwide aviation business. All aircraft using the new Manx register will be of a high standard, with brand new jet aircraft being the Island’s primary focus. Although the register will be open to all non-commercial planes, it is expected to be

of particular interest to professionally flown corporate aircraft, which are increasingly popular with business travellers wishing to circumvent commercial airline travel where delays are often caused by security related issues. An Isle of Man registered aircraft must bear the nationality mark “M” followed by the registration mark, which will be a group of four capital letters assigned by the aircraft registry.

Intrust (Manx) Limited is a respected fiduciary service provider and is licensed by The Isle of Man Financial Supervision Commission. We currently employ 14 professional staff to implement and provide a quality service to client structures under our control. Our aim is to work with clients providing them with a holistic view of their needs. This, together with the relationships we have formed on the Island and both nationally and internationally with intermediaries and tax advisors, means that we are able to stay at the forefront of any new developments in the aircraft industry.

Our aircraft division is able to assist with all aspects of an aircraft owning structure and choice of jurisdiction depending on the requirement. We understand that implementation is key to the success of any form of tax planning and in this regard we work closely with the professionals providing the advice to ensure that staff dedicate their time to maintaining files, recording transactions correctly and providing timely and accurate information to clients and their advisors.
