Domingo de Pentecostés Ciclo C 19 de mayo de 2013 Primera lectura: Lectura del libro de los Hechos de los Apóstoles 2, 1-11 Al llegar el día de Pentecostés estaban todos reunidos en el mismo lugar. De repente un ruido como de un viento recio resonó en toda la casa y vieron aparecer unas lenguas de fuego como llamaradas que se repartían posándose encima de cada uno. Salmo responsorial Salmo 103: Envía Señor tu espíritu, y repuebla la faz de la tierra. Segunda lectura: Lectura de la primera carta de san Pablo a los Corintios 12,3b-7. 12-13 Nadie puede decir “ Jesús es Señor” sino es bajo la acción del Espíritu Santo.h Hay diversidad de dones pero un mismo espíritu, hay diversidad de ministerios pero un mismo Señor y hay diversidad de funciones pero un mismo Dios que obra todo en todos. En cada uno se manifiesta el Espíritu para el bien común. RELIGIOUS EDUCATION *Religious Education Forms for the 2013-2014 School year are available in the Cathedral Office *Religious Educaiton Year End Reports will be distributed to parents/guardians on Sunday, June 2nd, 2013 following the 8:30am Mass. VOLUNTEERS NEEDED Our Church Office depends upon our Parishioners to assist the Pastor with providing services to our Congregation & Community. Help is needed in answering phones, gift shop sales, greeting office visitors, and special projects as needed. We are currently in need of volunteers daily from 8:00am until 5:00pm. Any assistance you can provide is greatly appreciated. Please contact Mrs. Joseph in the Church Office for more information. A special Thank You to those who are currently volunteering. TABERNACLE DEVOTIONAL LIGHT If you would like the Church to light the Tabernacle Candle on behalf of your family or loved ones please visit the Church Office. This Vigil Light will be Lit in their honor for one week starting on Sundays; near the tabernacle in the Cathedral or in the Chapel. Please put your $25 donation in the Devotional Light Envelope and complete the necessary information.

UPCOMING MEETINGS /EVENTS

BAPTISM PREPARATION SESSIONS Please note that parents must register at the church office, provide the required documents, and schedule an appointment with the priest one week prior to joining the classes. Please remember that Godparents must be practicing Catholics and must attend all Baptism classes with the Parents. The next sessions of Baptism Class will be on Saturday 18th and 25th 10:00am-11:00am in the Hospitality Lounge.

YOUTH GROUP MEETING The Youth Group Meeting is held every Wednesday from 4:00pm until 5:00pm in the Hospitality Lounge. All Youth of the Parish are encouraged to join this dynamic group, please contact a member of the Group for more information. YOUTH CHOIR If your son or daughter is interested in joining the Cathedral Youth Choir (4th Grade and up) please contact the Church Office or Ms. Yvette Finch at 340-690-3242. CONFIRMATION Congratulations to the Twelve young parishioners who are receiving the Sacrament of Confirmation this Sunday. Our gratitude goes out to all those who helped prepare them for this great event. FIRST COMMUNION The First Communion Mass will be celebrated on Sunday, May 26, 2013 at the 8:30am Mass. BISHOP APPEAL The public phase of our Bishop’s Appeal 2013 will conclude this weekend on Pentecost Sunday. As of May 13th, the parishes have raised $132,937 or 47% of the parish goal of $285,000. We are grateful to all those who have donated to the Bishop’s Appeal. To make our goal, we need everyone’s participation. For your convenience, you can still make a pledge and pay it in installments. The Bishop’s Appeal will formally end on December 31, 2013 so that you have ample time to fulfill your pledge. Our Catholic schools, Catholic Charities and Evangelization efforts need your support. Your gift helps feed the hungry and gives safe shelter to mothers and children in desperate need. Please support the Bishop’s Appeal during this year when we seek to grow in our Catholic Faith and to put it evermore in action!

Bienvenidos a nuestra Comunidad de Fe Domingo de Pentecostés Ciclo C 19 de mayo de 2013 Primera lectura: Lectura del libro de los Hechos de los Apóstoles 2, 1-11 Al llegar el día de Pentecostés estaban todos reunidos en el mismo lugar. De repente un ruido como de un viento recio resonó en toda la casa y vieron aparecer unas lenguas de fuego como llamaradas que se repartían posándose encima de cada uno. Salmo responsorial Salmo 103: Envía Señor tu espíritu, y repuebla la faz de la tierra. BAPTISM PREPARATION SESSIONS Please note that parents must register at the church office, provide the required documents, and schedule an appointment with the priest one week prior to joining the classes. Please remember that Godparents must be practicing Catholics and must attend all Baptism classes with the Parents. The next sessions of Baptism Class will be on Saturday 18th and 25th 10:00am-11:00am in the Hospitality Lounge.

YOUTH GROUP MEETING The Youth Group Meeting is held every Wednesday from 4:00pm until 5:00pm in the Hospitality Lounge.
