Honesty and clarity LEDs are changing the way that we measure and present lighting performance information. We are committed to providing honest and accurate information, when we state the light output (lumens) – we have tested the total fitting and measured the actual light output including any light transmitter, diffuser or optics. Beware of products that just quote the initial lumens from the LEDs. The lighting industry is full of confusion about the life of LED fittings and the reliability of LEDs and drivers. The life (hours life) of most fittings is limited by the quality and reliability of the capacitors used in their drivers. To avoid any confusion Leviton has decided to give market leading guarantees and warranties that make clear our commitment to these products and provide maximum customer confidence.

Unique edge lit LED technology skyblade has been designed to provide even light distribution across the work surface. It uses innovative edge lit technology to beam the light from the LEDs inwards through a light-guide board, which then projects all the light downwards. This creates a completely even and uniform distribution of light, perfectly illuminating work surfaces. The LEDs are directly mounted to a die cast aluminium heat sink which efficiently draws heat away from the chips which keeps the LEDs running cool and significantly extends their life.
Modular lighting system skyblade’s modular lighting system allows for quick installation and connectivity. Each driver can run any combination of skyblades up to a maximum 40W load and enables up to 5m illumination per driver. The discreet micro USB power system makes it simple to connect additional skyblades.
Ultra slim design skyblade’s ultra slim design makes it perfect for use on cabinets that do not have a pelmet.

Colour rendering index (CRI) - The quality of light A measure of the ability of a light source to reproduce the colours of various objects. A light source with a CRI = 100 (Ra) would be perfect and balanced in terms of colour reproduction, shading, contrast.

Lumen depreciation (L70) The deterioration in a lights performance after a time
Lumens per circuit Watt
Lumen depreciation values reflect the overall performance of a light source through its life. Any light source will suffer lumen depreciation, it may be accelerated by poor thermal conditions, over voltage or incorrect application. L70 is the operating time (hours) until the LED Lumen output is depreciated to 70 % of its initial lumens.

IP ratings - A fittings protection against dust and moisture Ingress Protection (IP) is a value given to products that have particular protection against dust and/or moisture. The IP number is split, the first digit represents the level of protection against dust particles while the second digit represents the protection against moisture. For example IP00 has no protection against dust or moisture whilst a product with IP68 is dust tight and submersible up to 2M.

1 Wattage (VA) - A measure of the energy consumed by a fitting A measure of power or the rate of energy consumption of an electrical device when it is in operation, calculated by multiplying the voltage at which an appliance operates by the current it draws (Watts = Volts X Amperes).
2 Lumens - A measure of light output A lumen is a unit of measurement that is used to express how much illumination a source of light provides.

5 Lux - A measure of light intensity A measure of the intensity of light as seen by the human eye and is measured by luminous flux per unit area. One lux is equal to one lumen per square metre.
