SUPERHEROES UNITE! Thank you for supporting World cancer Day 2017 and uniting your school in a life-saving fundraising effort. On 4th February everyone across the UK and the world, will join forces in an incredible #ActOfUnity to accelerate progress in the fight against cancer. Unite your school for a superhero themed dress-up day during January or February to help find cures and kinder treatments for young people facing cancer. This pack has all the tips and advice you need to get your school’s fundraising off to a flying start and remember to capture your Act Of Unity on film. SUPERHEROES UNITE Uniting your students in a life-saving fundraising effort has never been easier. Follow our 10 steps to success and your superheroes will be taking over the world in no time. 1. Chat to your staff about holding a superhero themed dress-up day to support World Cancer Day and set a date during January or February. 2. Staff and Students can wear superhero fancy dress (or casual dress if preferred) and make a £1 voluntary donation to Cancer Research UK. 3. Don’t forget you can also order a box of 50 Kids & Teens Unity Bands to distribute in the run up to 4th February. Your box of 50 Kids & Teens Unity Bands is free of charge from the Cancer Research UK online shop, just head to cruk.org/SchoolUnityBands 4. Use the letter/email template attached to notify parents of the upcoming event. 5. Promote the day using the posters provided online and in this pack. 6. Collect the £1 donation on the day from each superhero. 7. Unite your superheroes together and capture your ‘Act of Unity’ on camera. You can even plan an event on the day – see our ‘on the day suggestions’. 8. Once you’ve collected your donations return the proceeds from your superhero themed dress-up day using the instructions provided on the ‘returning your money’ page of this pack. 9. Share your cancer beating act with us on Facebook, Twitter or Instagram using the hashtag #ActofUnity and @CRUK_Kids

WHAT TO DO WITH YOUR LEFT OVER UNITY BANDS If you do have any spare Unity Bands after your fundraising event, please recycle the box and return only the bands. All you simply need to do is put the bands in an envelope to FREEPOST CANCER RESEARCH UK and we’ll receive them. Please do not send money to this address.
