FIELDS OF APPLICATION Metra access control system is designed specifically for this purpose – it allows you to issue tickets (different types of RFID media), gives you control over the number of visitors in the facility, prevents unwanted entries, allows cashless payments, and ultimately enables control over borrowed items. The reception will have a modern look; you will optimize your business and have a constant overview of the number of guests in the building, while you can individually define the characteristics of tickets purchased by the guest. What is more, the electronic locking of lockers can also be included in the system. Ticket retain feature allows re-using of various tickets. For that innovative feature Metra has developed patented in 1998 contact-less Wristband Capturer (WBC) together with contactless RFID Wristband. The Wristband Capturer grants the exit signal only when the ticket is successfully erased and retained. This dramatically cuts costs of the system operation and the chance of fraud. Passage control devices Following passage control devices can be used to control different types of internal as well as external passages.

Parking Access Terminal: forms a one-way check point for various types of tickets. It gives a signal for push button operated parking barriers and gates.

Tripod Turnstile: is a complete, compact access control point. It combines motorized rotating barrier with RFID readers to control entrance and exit. Because everything is integrated into a single housing, it reduces required space for passage. Metra Wristband Capturer can be integrated to allow ticket retain feature.

Turnstile Access Terminal: is a check point for Metra RFID tickets. It can drive various types of access control barriers from different manufacturers. The device's main advantage is that for exit control a patented Metra Wristband Capturer can be integrated to allow ticket retain feature. Gate for disabled: provides access for strollers, wheelchairs baggage carts, etc. at indoor and outdoor entrances. It is fully integrated in automatic access control system and controlled by Metra Turnstile Access Terminals or it can be opened manually by push button.

Door Access Terminal: is designed to form a one-way check point for various types of tickets. It gives a single relay signal for access mechanisms such as electric door strike, etc. Normally it is mounted near door where passage control is needed. It comes in different versions, according to the type of ticket and mounting (surface or built-in).

HOW THE ACCESS CONTROL SYSTEM OPERATES

Different combinations of access control devices are possible. Metra access control devices can be used for simple solutions as well as for advanced access control systems which include multi stage passage control with different check engines (date, time, points and other limitations). Metra access control system can be used as standalone system or as a part of already existing system (e.g. HIS, etc.). Metra Access Control devices can easily interact with 3rd party access devices, which enable even higher flexibility when choosing the most appropriate passage device. Further, Metra Access Control System can be upgraded with Metra Electronic Locking System, offering a complete solution for your facility. All Metra devices operate with different RFID media. Tickets form a connection between customers and the facility and have a vital impact on the convenience, cost and efficiency of system usage. Existing RFID Media (e.g. time attendance cards, public transport cards, etc.) can also be used on Metra Access Control devices. Metra also offers tickets from our own proven patented design, which also has the possibility to be retained. For this the access control devices must be equipped with the Metra Wristband Capturer. All the access permissions are controlled by Metra or 3rd party software installed on the server and can be freely modified according to client’s needs. Tripod Turnstile & Turnstile Access Terminal When the ticket is approached to the antenna field, ticket’s access rights are check on the server. If the ticket is valid, short acoustic signal indicates that passage is allowed. Signal panel indicates a direction of passage. Green arrow illuminates until passage is not completed. When the user approaches the tripod barrier, proximity optical sensor detects movement and triggers the tripod barrier which then enables smooth passage. Within predefined timeframe after the ticket was approached to antenna field a passage must be completed. If not, green arrow turns off and passage is not possible anymore. Page 3

Security features for Tripod Turnstile: 

If main power is down the barrier is rotating freely in both directions.

Barriers can be equipped with special breaking fuses that break if high force is applied to the barriers (people pushing against the barrier). Barrier can be easily reinstalled using a new breaking fuse in a short time.

If force is applied to the barrier (unauthorized passage attempt) an alarm goes off.

Security features for Turnstile Access Terminal depend on type of 3rd party device used for passage. Parking Access Terminal When the ticket is approached to the antenna field, ticket’s access rights are check on the server. If the ticket is valid, short acoustic signal is activated, green OK light turns ON and the parking barrier gate opens. Door Access Terminal When the ticket is approached to the antenna field, ticket’s access rights are check on the server. If the ticket is valid, short acoustic signal is activated and green OK light turns ON, which indicates that the passage is granted. Security features for Door Access Terminal: 

Door brake-in is detected.

If the door is opened for to long.

If the device is disassembled and/or damaged.

Gate for disabled The door can be opened manually by push button or they can be controlled by Metra Turnstile Access Terminals (see description above). Gates are available in different sizes and shapes. Additional features Info Terminal Metra Info Terminal displays information such as spent time and money, locker number, purchased items, etc, for LCC Tickets presented by users. Displaying information on the screen is performed by Metra Info Terminal software. User interface is based on HTML templates that can be edited freely therefore enabling custom modifications.

METRA SOFTWARE Access permissions/tickets are a base to start from. Check engines are assigned to tickets (RFID media) upon issue/sale. Parameterized they determine the rules by which ticket/user is handled in the system. Each check engine has its own characteristics and parameters, which also determine the price. Two user interfaces are used in the Metra software. One for sales procedures (POS) and one for setting up devices, parameters, privileges, resource management, online occupation (WEB). Metra software also enables all communication to Metra hardware, driving Metra NET devices and collecting event data from them. With Metra software you can:        

Monitor area occupancy Build tickets with different access rights and restrictions Sell or assign tickets to the RFID media Enable certain functionality like payment with guest’s ticket/media, borrowing items, grouping items into packages, etc. Create reports and analysis of guest flow Remotely manage access control devices (free passage, open door, etc.) Manage locker in combination with Metra electronic locking systems Connect and interface with 3rd party software
