Principal Purpose of Job • To be responsible for the Girls Balby Academy of Sport football teams and fixture programme. The following list of duties and responsibilities is not meant to be exclusive. It should be taken as an indicator of the type and level of activity expected of this post. The list does not represent either priorities or frequency of tasks and should be regularly updated by the post holder in consultation with and agreement of their line manager.

Duties and Responsibilities 1. To effectively plan and deliver sessions for the post 16 Academy in line with the academy technical programmes to sustain the eleven-a-side male and female academies. 2. To prepare the players tactically, technically, socially and psychologically to compete in the ESFA and BCS leagues. 3. Follow the Academy of Sport codes of conduct and respect guidelines to uphold the reputation of the Academy at all fixtures and events. 4. To assist Academy Development Officer (ADO) to encourage the retention of players coming through Balby Carr Community Sports College into the Academy aged 14-19 by raising standards and focussing on those periods of time when players are most likely to ‘drop-out’. 5. To support and build links between Community Football team, College Academy and FA Charter Standard Clubs. 6. To support with attracting local, regional and national football events. 7. To work with the Academy Development officer to establish an effective centre of excellence structure for pupils Y6-11. 8. To deliver a comprehensive player development program put in place by Director of Academies of Sport and ADO. 9. To coordinate assistant coaches from within the football academy to support with academy training sessions.

10. To liaise with feeder and local geographical primaries to coordinate, promote and encourage involvement in academy sessions. Sessions to be offered on a weekly basis for all Y5 & 6 students. 11. Ensure recovery stations are setup up after every training session and game 12. To map teams and leagues and develop and invest in gaps in provision from mini-soccer to adult. 13. Ensure equipment is prepared, safe and clean for all training sessions and that all equipment is audited and accounted for at all times. 14. Pack/ Prepare all appropriate equipment, kit, resources for fixtures & training. 15. To Liaise with Director of Football to ensure all students have correct kit and ensure students look professional at all times in accordance with Balby Academy of Sport Kit policy. 16. Monitor and assess all Academy players in training and in match performances giving regular feedback to students and parents to ensure progress. 17. Undertake personal CPD as appropriate to meet the demands of the role. Work towards qualifications in Coach Education in order to contribute to the in house coach education scheme. 18. To assist Director of Football to effectively market the Football Coach Education programme to ensure Balby Academy of Sport is at the forefront of Football Education in Doncaster and South Yorkshire. 19. Undertake administrative tasks related to the role, including fixture programming, record keeping and database input. 20. Work closely with all other Sporting Academy Leaders to establish a blue print for Academies of Sport (e.g. Academy of Golf) within Balby Academy of Sport. 21. Liaise closely with Director of Balby Academy of Sport to implement registering procedures to monitor participation in training sessions and matches. 22. Ensure administration tasks are completed on time i.e. registration into competitions and leagues, payments of leagues entries and ensuring player’s fines are paid in accordance with governing body guidelines. 23. To be fully involved in college open evenings at Balby and other educational establishments to help promote and market both junior and senior academies of sport. 24. To attend Balby Academy of Sport parent review evenings and provide detailed analysis of students performances in matches and training. 25. Undertake interviews with future academy students and parents and to be involved in the application process where appropriate. 26. To provide weekly match reports and photos of games to be published on the college’s web site, e portal and in local, regional and national press and ensure all fixtures are effectively communicated to appropriate staff. 27. Support with planning and delivering holiday football camps to raise awareness and participation within the academies & community football teams. 28. To support the recruitment, retention and development of volunteers. 29. To perform such other duties as reasonably correspond to the general character of the post and are commensurate with its level of responsibility.
