RESEARCH INTERESTS My research focuses on the impact of work and family roles on well-being. One line of work explores the mental health consequences of social role occupancy and role sequencing or the order in which adults acquire and/or relinquish social roles. Another line of work draws attention to the impact of race and gender tokenism in the workplace on mental and physical health. A third line of research pulls these two streams of thought together in an effort to better understand health disparities among the Black Middle Class. In addition to research on health, I publish in the areas of socialization, identity, and self-concept development. ARTICLES, VOLUMES, AND BOOK CHAPTERS 1. P.B. Jackson (Editor). 2016.
