We will be reviewing letters and their sounds, as well as math concepts, while working on listening skills and following directions. We will also enjoy fun academic crafts and games all centered around the books "Chicka Chicka Boom Boom" and "Chicka Chicka 123". Have fun learning while spending time with old and new friends! Everyday I’m Calculatin’ FOR RISING 2 ND-6 TH GRADE STUDENTS It’s time for kids to crunch numbers in a fun way! While math can be an intimidating subject for some kids, there are plenty of games and activities to make their learning experience enjoyable. This is sure to be a week full of math fun and learning! Students will work on their summer math book and review a different math lesson each day: multiplication & division, area, perimeter, circumference, fractions, algebra equations, graphs/data, etc... We will also enjoy a fun math enrichment game each day and conclude the week with a surprise activity. Your child will be ready to start the new school year soaring in math!

Ready, Set, Go to School FOR RISING PK-SK STUDENTS Personalized attention and an extra dose of love makes our littlest campers feel safe while exploring and discovering a wide range of new experiences in a stimulating environment. Students will have a blast improving their fine motor skills with arts & crafts, music, and creative movement! They will practice pinch and grip strength activities, which will include building, beading, lacing, sorting, and much more, while creating an exciting project each day! They will have so much fun they won’t even realize they are working!

Fly into First Grade FOR RISING 1 ST GRADE STUDENTS Join Mrs. Westbrook across the hall in Mrs. Bunker’s first grade classroom for a week of First Grade Fun! We will review some basic SK skills and move into the first grade phonics and reading curriculum. Campers will get a chance to brush up on their math skills and take them to the next level with next year’s math. The week includes a tour of Encore classrooms, Day School carpool, and a sneak peak at the first grade classrooms. Come find your desk and we will fly into first grade together!

Pop Into PK! FOR RISING PK STUDENTS Join us as we get to know each other and your new school! We will have lots of fun under the “Big Top” doing arts and crafts, reading stories, playing games, and cooking yummy snacks. We will explore many parts of PK – our early childhood curriculum, and extras such as GPS, art, the library, and gym. Campers will also meet some of the people they will be seeing at school everyday! Pop into PK will prepare them to start the school year with confidence - having old and new friends and a familiarity with the school!

Camp Read-a-Lot! FOR RISING 2 ND-6 TH GRADE STUDENTS Join us as we pitch tents in the library and set up camp for summer reading fun. Students will work on their summer reading lists while lounging on sleeping bags in tents or teepees and take part in book discussions around our “campfire.” We will make trail mix and stovetop s’mores, learn funny camp songs, practice oral reading skills through readers’ theatre, and take a hike to The Booksellers at Laurelwood.

Specialty Camps Fairy Ballet Camp FOR RISING PK-SK GRADE GIRLS (MUST ALREADY BE 3 YEARS OLD) Presented by Children’s Ballet Theater, this camp includes daily classical pre-ballet, creative movement, and choreography from “Cinderella”. Children also delight in rocking and rolling to pop music while learning jazz dance choreography. Included in the camp are dress-up/dance time, ballet story time, playground, and arts/crafts. Ballerinas will put on a show for family at the end of camp. Children’s Ballet Theater is directed by former ballerina Mary Van Dyke. Attire: Any color leotard, matching ballet skirt, pink canvas or leather ballet shoes, white bobby socks, and hair in ponytail or bun. “Sense-ational” Adventures FOR RISING PK-JK STUDENTS Give your child the opportunity to explore their world using the magic of their five senses! Focusing on a different sense each day, children will play, craft, and even get messy as they participate in fun sensory activities. Cheerleaders for Christ FOR RISING JK – 4 TH GRADE STUDENTS "We are the best, we are from C-M-D-S!" Come spend an exciting week getting in the CMDS spirit. We will learn cheers, dances, jumps and stunts. Each cheerleader will complete a special art project and build friendships with girls from different grade levels. A cheer show will be held at the end of the week so the girls can show off what they’ve learned to their friends & family! We will open each morning with a cheer devotional and end each day with a CMDS chant. The goal of this clinic is not only for the students to fall in love with cheerleading but to also fall in love with Christ!

Edible Gardening FOR RISING PK- 1 ST GRADE STUDENTS Explore the science of gardening while creating delicious treats! Five Days of Princesses FOR RISING PK- 1 ST GRADE STUDENTS Come spend a week living like a princess in this Disney Princess camp. You are invited to wear your princess costumes as we celebrate a different Disney Princess each day (Monday - Sofia the First, Tuesday - Aurora, Wednesday - Elsa and Anna, Thursday - Ariel, and Friday - Belle). Day 1- Jump aboard the pirate ship and make a sword*, flag and have a treasure hunt. Day 2- Save the day with your fellow superheroes. We will make a cape, mask and save the world! Day 3 – Come learn the secrets of the ninja as we create nunchuks* and a headband to practice our ninja moves. Day 4 – Join us deep in the woods as we learn about different types of snakes, play in tents, and sing songs by the campfire. Day 5 – Legos, Legos, Legos – finish up the week by working your way through Mrs. Westbrook’s huge collection of Legos and other blocks as you build and create! *All weapons are safe and child friendly.

GRACE: Girls Running After Christ’s Example FOR RISING 3 RD – 6 TH GRADE GIRLS Today’s girls are bombarded by conflicting messages about the meaning of womanhood. The media says one thing, boys say another, and friends go for whatever is “coolest”. Through scripture-based crafts, activities and discussions on attitude, friendships, parents and school; this camp will help girls ages 8-12 let God, not the world, define who they are! Some of the activities will include baking, jewelry making, painting, spa-inspired crafts and journaling. This camp is sure to be a week of girl fun!

We provide all the equipment needed (racquets, balls, etc.) and pop-up nets that allow for indoor play. This camp is fun and exciting for the children while at the same time promoting self- esteem, sports etiquette and the benefits of exersice. Campers will participate in drills, games and relays, which allow for all campers to participate and to be successful. Campers should wear tennis shoes or non-skid shoes to camp each day.

Mid-South Chess welcomes you to a camp designed to teach correct piece movement and basic strategy. Camp ARMOR: Awakening Real Men of Righteousness FOR RISING 2 ND-6 TH GRADE BOYS Boys today are constantly given conflicting messages of what it means to be a young man. It is clear that the world needs a generation of young men who pursue Christ and the time for that generation is now! Camp ARMOR will encourage 2 nd-6 th grade boys in their walks with the Lord through an exciting boot-camp themed week where they will be “trained” in putting on the full armor of God. Each day, campers will complete a take-home activity that will serve as a reminder of the biblical truths that were learned. Join us at Camp ARMOR as we learn to put on the Helmet of Salvation, the Breastplate of Righteousness, the Belt of Truth, the Sword of the Spirit, the Shield of Faith, and the Shoes of Peace in Ephesians 6.

We are going to take a trip back in time and learn all about dinosaurs through hands-on activities, games, and arts and crafts. Your beginner paleontologist will go on a dinosaur fossil dig and learn how to excavate and record their findings. We will make and hatch dinosaur eggs, create dinosaur teeth, and footprints. Your child will make their very own dinosaur and learn how to move like a dinosaur. Children will go home with their very own dinosaur plus lots of other fun. Jewelry Camp FOR RISING 1 ST -6 TH GRADE GIRLS Come and accessorize yourself! We’re going to make as many bracelets and necklaces as possible in a week (maybe even a few headbands)! Campers will learn to make one of a kind tassel necklaces, friendship bracelets, pendant necklaces, button bracelets and necklaces, beaded jewelry- too many to list! At the end of the week, the girls will be able to create these things at home on their own!

Star Wars FOR RISING JK- 3 RD GRADE STUDENTS Join us in a galaxy far, far away as we explore the ways of the force. We’ll create intergalactic costumes, crafts, and snacks. American Girl Doll Sewing FOR RISING SK-4 TH GRADE GIRLS •

Would your daughter like more American Girl Doll clothes and accessories? Come join us as we make “no-sew” and sewn options. (No sewing experience required, but they will learn on a real/kid friendly sewing machine.) Your daughter will bring ideas and knowledge home to create even more on their own! We will start with two big projects (choices are skirt, dress, sleeping bag, pants, apron, backpack, or shorts). Once those two are finished- we will move on to more simple projects (choices are scarves, blankets, hats, shoes, headbands, no sew skirts, pillow, ...). A small amount of fabric will need to be purchased for this camp (more info on this later).

Fairy Fun FOR RISING SK- 3 RD GRADE GIRLS This magical camp will be a delight for girls who love all things fairy! A corner of the library will be transformed into a fairy castle. Participants will receive their own pair of fairy wings and will make fairy wands and flower headbands to complete their costume. They will play fairy games, hear fairy stories, make a tiny flower fairy doll, and spend a morning making fairy fudge and more for a grand fairy tea party on the final day.

Science & Technology Camps LEGO Mindstorm Robotics: FOR RISING 1 ST -7 TH GRADE STUDENTS This exciting camp will teach you how to build and program the LEGO® Mindstorms® NXT robots, the coolest robot available. Minecraft® FOR RISING 1 ST -7 TH GRADE STUDENTS Take your Minecrafting to the next level through engineering! Students will be introduced to the power of Redstone, the foundation of all advanced technology in Minecraft®. Using motors, pistons, switches and diodes, campers will build an exciting variety of useful devices, including Cobblestone generators, farming machines, devious traps, and powerful TNT cannons. Students will take their virtual creations home on CDs (for Mac and PC only) at the end of class. Ideal for students with basic Minecraft® experience, but new players are welcome.

Discover the Force Within You: Star Wars Robotic Lego Camp FOR RISING 2 ND- 6 TH GRADE STUDENTS Come join us as we re-create Anakin’s Workshop!! Campers will tinker away and use robotic LEGOS to build fantastic Star Wars creations! Soar through the galaxy with us, as we build super space ships and robots based on the Star Wars movies. Lego Movie Magic FOR RISING 1 ST – 7 TH GRADE STUDENTS Learn to make a stop-motion animated film using LEGO® and other characters to tell a story. If you've ever wanted to direct your own movies or like making up stories, this camp is for you. Working in teams of two, you will use iPads and an animation application to create multi-scene movies with transitions, titles, credits, sound effects and narration. Design your own set with backgrounds, characters, and scenery. The stories are up to your imagination. This is a great class to take with friends. No experience is necessary. Campers take home a CD with their movies at the end of the week.

Robotic Legos: Grab Your Minifig FOR RISING 3 RD-6 TH GRADE STUDENTS Children will be amazed at all the cool creations they will build and program with Legos. They will be challenged to build ferris wheels, cars, forklifts, cranes, carnival games, elevators and many more programmable contraptions. These robotic creations help reinforce STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) learning and also allow for lots of fun and creativity.
