From time to time KWV release small quantities of Museum wines. This 1969 KWV Hanepoot Jerepigo is one such wine, reflecting the rich wine-making heritage of KWV and the SA wine industry as a whole.

A medium-bodied wine with a basis of Cabernet Sauvignon, it has been blended, matured and bottled at SFW since 1932.

Medium full colour and garnet edge. Quite an evolved, black tea nose with some savoury notes. This leads in to a palate with similar attributes and flavours of cherry and liquorice. The baked plum finish has a refreshing touch of astringency. Ready now.

The grapes are picked by hand in the cool of the night.

Rustenberg is one of the most beautiful wine farms in Stellenbosch. Wine has been produced at Rustenberg since 1962.

Over the years, Rustenberg wines have accumulated many accolades, both here and abroad.

This 1930, from the "depression" years, is one of the oldest wines within the KWV Cellars. A great wine reinforcing that KWV produces world class fortifieds, of which this 1930 Red Muscadel Jerepigo is an absolute treasure, and is still fresh and lively after 80 years.

Black cherries, cloves, Cinnamon, plum, Ripe, Almond

This is a wine produced from grapes off a 10 year-old single vineyard, planted 100m above sea level in deep yellowish brown gravelly soils. This wine shows a deep, intense ruby red colour with typical blackcurrant and plum flavours and also shows well-integrated wood flavours.

A rare find from KWV's Museum and is testament to World Class port production in the South African wine industry.
