ABOUT THE RACES

Chili Bowl Classic Date: Saturday, February 27, 2016 Distance: 5k The 2016 Chili Bowl Classic is the first race of the 2016 Road Race Series and kicking it off in a great way! Held at the Galleria at Erieview, the Chili Bowl Classic offers a scenic 5k course through downtown Cleveland. All race participants will receive a long-sleeve shirt, a 16 oz. chili mug, and post-race refreshments including hot, delicious chili made by Cleveland’s firefighters and policemen! *VIP Area and Bag Check will be available at this race

35th Annual St. Malachi Church Run Date: Saturday, March 12, 2016 Distance: 5 Miles This is the 36th Anniversary of the St. Malachi Church Run and it promises to be more exciting than ever! The race will feature custom designed long-sleeve t-shirts and music and entertainment along the course. The 5 mile race starts on the Detroit-Superior Bridge and takes runner through downtown Cleveland, around First Energy Stadium, the Great Lakes Science Center, and the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. The race finishes near McCarthy’s Ale House, where you can join the post-race party! *VIP Area and Bag Check will be available at this race

Hermes Cleveland 10 Miler Date: Saturday, April 23, 2016 Distance: 10 Miles The Cleveland 10 Miler is considered one of the best road races in the area, and this year’s race will be no exception! The 10 mile course is a scenic route that begins and ends at Edgewater Park in Cleveland and takes runners through Cleveland’s west side neighborhoods, including Battery Park and Lakewood.

Participants will receive custom designed technical race shirts, finisher medals, and a virtual race bag with great deals and discounts. This is the first race in the 2016 Hermes 26.2 Distance Journey. *VIP Area and Bag Check will be available at this race

The Diversity Center of Northeast Ohio’s Walk, Rock and Run Date: Saturday, April 30, 2016 Distance: 5k Join us for our 14th Annual Walk, Rock & Run! All registered participants gain FREE ENTRY into The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Museum, The Great Lakes Science Center, and the USS COD on April 30, 2016. Participants will also enjoy live entertainment, free food, health screenings and more! Commemorative Walk, Rock & Run t-shirts are available to runners with their $25 registration fee, and to walkers with a donation of $25 or more. Proceeds from Walk, Rock & Run help to support The Diversity Center’s School and Youth Programming throughout Northeast Ohio. Each year, students learn how to become leaders and positive change agents in their schools and communities by participating in our conferences, retreats and camps. The Diversity Center has been working to eliminate bias, bigotry, and racism since 1927. Tom Nowak Big Creek Run Date: Sunday, May 8, 2016 Distance: 5k The Middleburg Heights Chamber of Commerce, in cooperation with the Middleburg Heights Department of Recreation, will host the 28th Annual Tom Nowak Big Creek Run. The 5k Run and the 1 Mile (Run or Walk) is on the Big Creek Parkway. Starting line will be at the Middleburg Heights Recreation Center, 16000 Bagley Road, and the finish line will be on the City Hall complex. The first 300 participants will receive "Goodie Bags" and T-Shirts. There will be music provided by TKO Entertainment, light refreshments and an award ceremony at the finish line gazebo. Proceeds will benefit: Adaptive Sports for Kids Middleburg Heights Program (an award winning program of seasonal sports for children with special needs), Boy Scouts Program Support, Junior Achievement,

MBB Special Olympics, USO of Northern Ohio, The Middleburg Heights Food Pantry and SCAN Hunger Center Pantry. All participants are asked to bring canned goods to help support our local food pantries. *VIP Area and Bag Check will be available at this race

Hy-5k Date: Saturday, May 14, 2016 Distance: 5k Hyland, creator of OnBase hosts the eight annual Hy-5: The Hyland 5K Run & 1 Mile Walk on Saturday, May 14, 2016. We invite you to join us this year in supporting MetroHealth’s vital role in our region— striving, every day, to create miracles and hope. Saint Joseph Academy’s “Earn Your Spots” Jaguar 5k Date: Monday, May 30, 2016 Distance: 5k Officially start your summer by helping young women receive a quality education! This is the fourth annual “Earn Your Spots” Jaguar 5K/1 Mile Walk for Saint Joseph Academy and it promises again to be a highlight of Memorial Day Weekend. The race provides critical scholarship assistance for the young women at Saint Joseph Academy, Cleveland’s only all-girls Catholic high school. The race takes runners through the quaint streets of Cleveland’s West Park neighborhood, as well as the western edge of Lakewood. In addition to the knowledge that their participation helps raise scholarship assistance, runners/walkers will receive custom-designed race shirts and awards at the end of the race. * VIP Area and Bag Check will be available at this race.

Ohio City Run & Crawl Date: Saturday, June 18, 2016 Distance: 5k Come join us for the 11th Annual Ohio City Run & Crawl! This evening race begins and ends on Market Avenue right outside of Great Lakes Brewing Company. Run through the streets of historic Ohio City and return for a post-race party at Market Square Park! *VIP Area and Bag Check will be available at this race

14th Annual DadsDay Run Date: Sunday, June 19, 2016 Distance: 5 Miles What a great way for the whole family to spend Father's Day! This race is for everyone, not just Dad, runners, walkers and strollers are encouraged. It features a beautiful 5 mile and a 1 mile course through the tree lined streets of Shaker Heights, which starts and ends at Shaker Family Center, 19824 Sussex Road. Race participants will receive a commemorative T-shirt and awards are given to top finishers of both races, and in honor of Father’s Day everyone receives a "tie" when crossing the finish line. Food and refreshments will be available after the race. Also featured is a FREE Kidsprint for ages 3-12 and Flower Clown. All proceeds benefit Family Connections programs and our mission that strong families build strong communities. *VIP Area and Bag Check will be available at this race

Brecksville Home Days Date: Sunday, June 26, 2016 Distance: 5k The 2016 Brecksville Homedays 5k Run is celebrating it's 6 year anniversary. The race begins and ends at the Brecksville Community Center with beautiful dry inside changing area and bathrooms. The course winds through the picturesque Old Town of Brecksville. Participants will receive a custom designed technical shirt, place winner medals, family medals and finisher medals to all 1 mile participants. Proceeds go to the Run For Your Life Program, Cuyahoga Valley Youth Organization and Kick It for children's cancer. *VIP Area and Bag Check will be available at this race

Robert J. Martin Jr. Memorial Race Date: Sunday, July 10, 2016 Distance: 5k The 4th annual Robert J. Martin Jr. 5K race continues to be a favorite mid-summer run offering a little something for everyone! The race runs through trendy Battery Park and begins and ends at the Cleveland Police Patrolman's Association. After the run come enjoy a beer and refreshments with Cleveland's finest and tour the SWAT vehicle! Participants receive a tech T-shirt and swag bag. Medals and Active Runner gift cards available to all who place in their age groups. All proceeds benefit the Midwest Council for Children with Disabilities. Hofbrauhaus 10k Date: Sunday, August 7, 2016 Distance: 10k Break out the lederhosen and braids! This exciting 10k begins and ends on Chester Avenue, right in front of Hofbrauhaus Cleveland. After running 6.2 miles through the city, treat yourself to authentic German beer and food and a post-race party which includes Bavarian music! *VIP Area and Bag Check will be available at this race

River Run Half Marathon Date: Sunday, September 11, 2016 Distance: Half Marathon (13.1 Miles) As the longest distance race in the 2016 Road Race Series, the River Run Half Marathon boasts some of the most beautiful scenery in the Cleveland area. Run 13.1 miles through the Rocky River Reservation of the Cleveland Metroparks while enjoying a smooth, relatively flat course. All participants receive a custom race shirt, finisher medal and post-race refreshments! *VIP Area and Bag Check will be available at this race

MidTown Cleveland HealthLine Classic Date: Saturday, September 24, 2016 Distance: 10k Come join us for the 9th Annual MidTown Cleveland HealthLine Classic 10k/5k Race. If you are an experienced runner, or this is your first race, we have options to fit every level. You will enjoy running through Cleveland’s historic corridors of Euclid and Prospect Avenues, from MidTown to Downtown. The first 350 runners will receive a race shirt and goodie bag. There will also be a post-race "Kegs & Eggs" party for all runners in the historic Agora Theater. *VIP Area and Bag Check will be available at this race

Halloween Run for Justice Date: Saturday, October 29, 2016 Distance: 5 Miles Don’t miss the 15th Annual Halloween Run for Justice, which keeps getting bigger each year. Not only do we offer an awesome 5-mile run in downtown Cleveland, but we encourage you to come dressed in your favorite Halloween costume. This event benefits the Cleveland Metropolitan Bar Foundation’s “Lawyers Giving Back” community outreach programs aimed at improving access to justice through pro bono legal service, education and mentoring programs. Runners receive a specially designed long sleeve tee shirt and can participate in our fun, family-friendly after run Halloween party. *VIP Area and Bag Check will be available at this race

Cleveland Turkey Trot Date: Thursday, November 24, 2016 Distance: 5 Miles Now in its 35th year, the Cleveland Turkey Trot is a Thanksgiving morning tradition for the entire family! Throughout the 5-mile run, participants will the First Energy Stadium, the Great Lakes Science Center, the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and maybe even a couple of turkeys! All runners receive a long-sleeve race t-shirt, goodie bags, and a Thanksgiving memory they’ll never forget! *VIP Area and Bag Check will be available at this race

Pigskin Classic Date: Saturday, November 26, 2016 Distance: 5k As Michigan and Ohio State prepare to face off on the football field, get out on the pavement and show your support for the team of your choice! All participants will receive either an Ohio State or Michigan themed t-shirt and a post-race party to kick off the start of the BIG GAME! *VIP Area and Bag Check will be available at this race

Reindeer Run Date: Sunday, December 4, 2016 Distance: 5k Get in the holiday spirit with the 17thAnnual Reindeer Run! This festive 5k begins and ends at Lakewood Park and takes participants on a flat course through the city. Registration includes a custom long-sleeve race shirt, jingle bells for your shoes, post-race refreshments, photos with Santa and Dasher and plenty of holiday spirit! *VIP Area and Bag Check will be available at this race
