NATIONAL CONFERENCE ON CONDITION MONITORING About Conditioning Monitoring Society of India About Condition Monitoring Society of India Condition Monitoring Society of India (CMSI) was established in the year 2003 with an intention to promote and emphasize the importance of condition monitoring to the professionals/practicing engineers /plant engineers by way of conducting conferences and workshops from time to time. The society also intends to be a common platform for condition monitoring professionals to share their experiences and expertise. The society publishes a news letter 'MONITOR' to keep the members abreast of the developments in the field. The society has grown rapidly by setting up local chapters of the society at different places all over India

In its effort to fulfill the objectives of the society, CMSI conducted various conferences and courses during the past few years such as: 2 – day National Conference (NCCM-2006) during Dec 15-16, 2006, 4-day short term course on Condition Based Maintenance (CBM-07) during Nov 1922,2007, 2-day National Conference on Condition Monitoring (NCCM-2009)during Dec 4-5,2009 and 2-day International Conference on Condition Monitoring (ICCM-2011) during Feb 2425.,2011.All these programs were very well attended and appreciated. GITAM University and CMSI jointly organized a 5-day course, sponsored by AICTE-ISTE during Mar.16-20,2009. NCCM 2012 was organized at Pune during Jan 15-16, 2012. On Mar 14, 2013, first student chapter of society was launched. NCCM 2013 was organized at Bangalore during Oct 4-5, 2013. Apart from this a number of workshops and annual meets were organized by the society and its local chapters. All these programs were very well attended and appreciated.

About the conference

Call for Papers

As a part of CMSI's endeavor to bring out the growing importance and recent trends in condition monitoring, a two day National Conference on Condition Monitoring (NCCM -2014) is being organized in association with Combat Vehicles Research and Development Establishment, Chennai during Dec 12-13, 2014 with an emphasis on vehicular application. It is expected that a significant number of experts/practicing engineers from various organizations, institutes and industries will participate in this conference.

NCCM – 2014 invites papers related to various disciplines on Condition Monitoring of Machines & Structural Health Monitoring for presentation at the conference. The papers relevant to the topic with case studies are expected to benefit the participants most. Papers will be peer reviewed before accepting the final camera ready manuscripts.

The conference provides a common platform for interaction on the state of the art technology on condition monitoring strategies. It provides an opportunity to deliberate on latest trends in the field of condition monitoring. This would immensely benefit the maintenance engineers, R&D professionals,

About CVRDE, Avadi, Chennai CVRDE is the Centre for Design, Development, Prototype .manufacture, Trial & Evaluation and Technology Transfer of the State-of-the art Armoured Fighting vehicles and specialized Vehicles for Armed Services. ARJUN Main Battle tank is the flagship product of CVRDE. The other Armoured vehicles developed by CVRDE which have gone into production are Armoured Patrol Car, Armoured Recovery Vehicle, 130 mm SP gunCatapult on Vijayanta, Carrier Mortar Tracked Vehicle, Carrier Command Post Tracked and Missile Carrier Vehicle for IGMDP, Bridge Layer Tank(BLT-72),Combat Improved Ajeya and Armoured Ambulance. CVRDE has successfully developed Unmanned Ground Vehicle based on BMP –II platform for surveillance, NBC Reconnaissance and Mine detection, and developed Aircraft Mounted Accessory Gear Box (AMAGB).Aircraft Bearings, PTO Shaft, 5kW Brushless DC Generator and Hydraulic Filters for LCA Tejas. CVRDE has also enhanced its infrastructure through Creation of Test Facilities for Engine and Suspension systems of AFVs, state-of-the art EMI/EMC Test facility as per latest standards and also developed Training Simulators for ARJUN MBT Drivers and Gunners

The ARJUN MBT, the brain child of CVRDE has been designed to meet Army's most stringent requirements and provides High Mobility, Superior Firepower, Enhanced Protection and Crew Comfort. Two regiments of ARJUN MBT Mk-I have been inducted into Army. Based on the expertise gained, ARJUN Mk-II has been developed successfully with enhanced performance which includes Missile firing capability, Improved Commander's Panoramic Sight, Track Width Mine Plough, Automatic Target Tracing, Advanced Land Navigation System, Power Driven Air Defense Gun,

Advanced running Gear System, Advanced Final Drive , Containerisation of Ammunition Bin with Individual Shutters, Explosive Reactive Armour, Roof Mounted Driver's Seat. Digital Dashboard for the driver, LED headlamps and improved Slip ring for RBJ. On the Technological front, CVRDE has excelled in a gamut of technologies related to Combat Systems which include In-Vehicle Networking with Multi-Bus Architecture ,Digital Management of Powerpack, Multi-function Touch screen Dashboard for the Crew, Battlefield Management System, Automatic Target Tracking, Inter Vehicle Information System, Electronic Fuel Injection System, Commander's Panoramic Sight, Advanced Fire Control Stereo Vision, Image Fusion & Map display, Indigenous Fiber Gyros and ATE for Compact Electronics Unit, All Electronic Drive,400hp Electronically Controlled Power pack for BMP-II and currently working on projects such as ARJUN Armoured Recovery and Repair Vehicle, (ARJUN ARRV) and Armoured Vehicle Engineering (AVE). CVRDE is spearheading the National Mission Project for Development of 1500 hp Engine and Transmission. CVRDE has ventured into the development of Unmanned Ground Armoured Combat System by conversion of BMP-II into tele-operated /autonomous vehicle (MUNTRA). Metallurgical Improvements and Nano Technology for development of Nano coatings for hybrid bearings, nano. composite for Electromagnetic interference (EMI) shielding and engine nano lubricants; Landing Gear system for Rustom II are part of the projects under development. Mahabalipuram, is a town in Kancheepuram district in Tamil Nadu. It is around 60 km south from the city of Chennai. It is an ancient historic town and was a bustling seaport. It has a group of sanctuaries, which was carved out of rock along the Coromandel th th coast in the 7 and 8 centuries: rathas (temples in the form of chariots), mandapas (cave sanctuaries), giant open-air reliefs such as the famous 'Descent of the Ganges', and the shore Temple , with thousands of sculptures to the glory of Shiva.

Note: Registration fee includes delegate kit, lunch on both days and conference dinner on the first day. Delegates are to make their own arrangement for accommodation and travel. Students/Research Scholars are to submit a bonafide certificate from principal/Research guide of the institute in which he/she is pursuing studies/research at the time of registration. Institutional members of CMSI can avail 50% discount on registration fee for a maximum of three delegates.
