The Maine Vanpool Experience. The Vanpool Package Enterprise Rideshare has created a full-service support plan that makes it easy for you to vanpool. The Vanpool Package includes everything from insurance and late model vehicles to maintenance and roadside assistance. Vehicle types Rideshare offers a variety of vehicle options to fit your vanpool’s needs. From large and conversion vans to luxury crossovers, we can make your commute more comfortable. Our late model vehicles come with standard options that may include seating for 7-15 people, keyless remote entry, power locks and windows, and cruise control. We also offer upgrade features such as WiFi, Satellite Radio, and GPS. (At a minimal cost.) Service and maintenance Preventative maintenance: Enterprise will track mileage and send via email to let the Primary Driver know when services are needed (e.g. oil changes, safety checks). The van is either picked up and returned to the worksite after service, or in other cases, the driver can bring it to a pre-approved location. Enterprise is billed directly for these services. Unscheduled repairs: In the case of mechanical problems, Enterprise will transport the van to the nearest servicing facility. When repairs are complete, the van will be returned to the work site. A substitute vehicle will be available in all cases where the van needs to stay in the shop during commuting hours. 24-hour roadside assistance Our Rideshare Division is supported by the extensive Enterprise Rent-A-Car neighborhood network of more than 5,500 rental offices located within 15 miles of 90 percent of the U.S. population. Enterprise is uniquely equipped to handle breakdowns. In such an event, a replacement vehicle is dispatched from the nearest rental branch. After-hours and on weekends, a national roadside assistance service network is used. Comprehensive insurance Our zero-deductible insurance plan features collision coverage for the full value of the vehicle, single-limit liability at a minimum of $1,000,000 and uninsured motorist coverage of $100,000. 24/7 customer service support Enterprise offers a toll-free customer service support line, that helps riders with the driver approval process, billing questions and all other operational and administrative issues. Just call 1 800 VAN-4-WORK. Flexibility Vanpool groups can terminate a rental simply by giving 30 days notice. The 30-day clause protects the group if they ever need to return the van due to a loss in ridership or for any other reason. Guaranteed ride home Rideshare customers have access to Enterprise Rent-A-Car’s Guaranteed Ride Home service, which ensures they are always able to leave work at unscheduled times in the case of emergencies and/or unforeseen events. Extras In addition to the Vanpool Package, Enterprise Rideshare offers many extra perks and assistance: Rental car discounts: Save 5% off standard retail rates when renting with Enterprise Rent-A-Car. Motor vehicle reports: Enterprise will handle the running of MVRs for all drivers at no cost. Tax assistance: Enterprise will help set up your Rideshare program so that you are able to take advantage of local and federal tax benefits.

Frequently Asked Questions Still have some questions about vanpooling and how Enterprise Rideshare can help improve your commute? How much does it cost? Pricing varies based on the size of the van, the round-trip distance and the type of equipment in a van. But compared to driving alone, vanpooling will save on average 50-75%. Call 1 800 VAN-4-WORK for specific pricing in your area. Additionally, individuals maybe eligible for a tax incentive (up to $125/month) which provides a significant tax savings if you vanpool. In addition to the tax incentive, there are also a number of local transit agencies that provide a significant subsidy to further lower the cost of vanpooling. What does the price include? The monthly payment includes a late-model vehicle, full-service maintenance program, 24-hour roadside assistance and a comprehensive insurance program. The only additional expenses may be fuel and parking (where applicable). What kind of vehicle do I get? We offer a variety of late-model vehicle options for vanpools, including standard bench style seating or fully converted vans with individual reclining captain’s seats, overhead lights, and a number of other amenities. We also offer a line of upgraded crossovers and SUVs. How is maintenance handled? Enterprise covers both minor and major repairs, as well as all scheduled servicing. We will coordinate with a local vendor for van servicing. If the van needs to be kept in a shop overnight, Enterprise will provide a loaner vehicle in most instances. This includes no “out of pocket” expenses since the shops bill Enterprise directly. What happens if we break down? Our 24/7 breakdown assistance program guarantees your vanpool group will never be stranded in the event of a breakdown. What happens if the vehicle gets into an accident? Our comprehensive insurance coverage includes Auto Liability, Comp/Collision, and Uninsured Motorist. If an accident occurs, our breakdown assistance program will arrive to assist you. What about fuel? It’s easy. Most vanpool groups use the Enterprise fuel card program through Wright Express which is accepted at most major fuel stations. How is the monthly fare collected? Typically vanpool groups open a separate “vanpool” checking account at a local bank. Each rider writes a check to the Vanpool Driver/Coordinator (the main driver) each month, who in turn deposits the checks into the vanpool account and writes a single check to Enterprise from that account. As an alternative, you can ask your employer if they would be willing to administer an automatic payroll deduction from each of the riders’ paychecks as a means of fare collection. This also simplifies the process of taking advantage of the Federal Tax incentive available to many vanpool riders.

Where does the van get parked at night? Either the van is left at the meeting point, or a driver takes it home. Who drives? Most vans designate two to four drivers to share driving duties. All drivers must be 25 years or older and meet minimum driver requirements which vary by state. Can the drivers use the van for personal use? Depending on the state, Enterprise offers up to 200 additional miles per month to be used at the vanpool groups discretion. That’s one of the perks to being a driver! Are there any subsidies available? In many geographic areas, there are local subsidies available. Call 1 800 VAN-4-WORK to see if there are subsidies available in your area. Are there any special tax incentives? Yes! Vanpool riders may be eligible for a $125/month, $1500/ year Federal Tax Incentive. What happens if I lose a rider? Our Ridematching Program assists vanpool groups in filling empty seats. If the seats can’t be filled, the group may choose to switch to a smaller van. What happens if I vanpool to work and have to leave early or stay late? Enterprise Rent-A-Car offers a Guaranteed Ride Home Program that provides an affordable solution in the event of an unexpected emergency. How long of a commitment do I have to make to a vanpool? Enterprise vanpools are set up on a simple month-to-month basis. If you decide at any point that you would like to discontinue the vanpool, simply turn in a 30-day notice and return the van at the end of that time period. How do I get started? The process typically takes less than a week. Simply call 207 856-0266 and speak to Ryan Crocker or email [email protected].
