PerTronix is pleased to present our 2006 Thunderbird exhaust catalog. PerTronix purchased Ermie Immerso Enterprises (Thunderbird Products) in August of 2000. Since that time we have re-branded the street rod, hot rod, and custom fabrication products under the Patriot Exhaust Products name. The Thunderbird Products brand name which has been part of the exhaust industry since 1967 will continue to be used for our Volkswagen exhaust product line. These products include headers, header systems, mufflers, stingers, flanges, and other accessories for both street and off-road vehicles. All of our products are made in the USA utilizing CNC mandrel bending machines for precise bends to insure a great fitting product. We also feature Metallic Ceramic Thermal Barrier Coating on most of our products.

SMALL FLANGE EXHAUST SYSTEMS Our popular small flange tuned exhaust systems and headers feature 1010 mild steel 1 3/8” tubing with mandrel formed bends for maximum exhaust scavenging. Each header design allows for retention of the original heater system and heat riser tubes. Choose from our single or dual quiet systems or achieve the look that you want with our wide selection of mufflers and stingers. All necessary gaskets and mounting hardware are included to provide a trouble free installation. Available with standard black finish or with Metallic Ceramic coating.

This specially designed system is dyno-tuned to scavenge gases from alternating cylinders and route them through the original body panel openings into two fully chromed mufflers. Limited One Year Warranty All Thunderbird exhaust products are guaranteed, to the original purchaser, to be free of defects in materials and workmanship for one year. This warranty covers the replacement/repair of the product only and does not cover the cost of removal and installation, customer applied aftermarket coatings or any discoloration or corrosion of chrome finished surfaces. Damage or product failure resulting from collision, improper installation, off-road use, road hazards, the use of exhaust insulating wrap or like products or rust occurring after installation, is not covered by the warranty. The warranty extends only to the original purchaser. Should a part become defective it should be returned to the original selling retailer and must be accompanied with the sales receipt. If there is no retailer in your area, call the factory for a return authorization and return your part prepaid to the factory for inspection. PerTronix reserves the rights to replace or repair the alleged defective part and return the part freight collect.

Flame-Thrower Billet Distributor For Volkswagen Engines Our new plug and play billet distributor for VW engines is designed to provide maximum ignition performance and easy installation all at a price you can afford. This distributor allows you to upgrade your outdated points system with a performance proven distributor that features the patented Ignitor II electronic ignition module or our standard Ignitor electronics and a CNC machined 6061 T-6 polished billet housing and deck. PerTronix electronics are also compatible with most inductive ignition system coils, as well as the Pertronix Second Strike box or any other multi-spark CD ignition. Additional features include a tempered .500” diameter shaft with low torsion displacement; an upper roller bearing and lower self-lubricating oil impregnated copper powder metal bushing and a durable machined heat-treated gear. Distributors come with a factory set performance curve, a mechanical advance limiting adjustment and high dielectric strength cap and rotor.

Ignitor & Ignitor II Electronic Ignition PerTronix has made it much easier to convert your outdated points ignition to an Ignitor or Ignitor II electronic ignition. Applications are available for most original equipment Bosch distributors as well as the popular 009 and 050 distributors. The Ignitor converts a “points-type” distributor to solid-state electronic ignition. It fits entirely inside the distributor cap, improves performance, fuel economy, extends spark plug life, and installs as easily as points. Over two million Ignitors are in use. The Ignitor II senses current levels in the coil and uses a powerful micro controller to adjust the dwell to maintain peak energy throughout the entire RPM range. Dwell time is increased or decreased with changing engine RPM and operating conditions. This provides more energy at high RPM, reducing misfires while improving engine performance.
