A Message From Our Pastor Each year, we take time to salute the future leaders of the church and the world. Our children enable us the privilege to glance into our future and come back knowing that they are on the right path. Today we celebrate the children of MSBC. It is always a wonderful moment to see those who will eventually lead us being mentored and given the chance to share their potential in the Kingdom. I am always encouraged to see the many gifts and talents that the Lord has placed in the children of MSBC. As we worship with them, I encourage you to celebrate them and let them know how proud you are that they have chosen to trust Jesus. The world that we live in tempts them each day to stray from the faith but because you encourage them, they are clinging to the will of God. In addition, I encourage you to take a few moments to salute our Children’s Ministry Leadership Team for their willingness to give of their time and themselves to help mold and mature the spiritual lives of our future leaders. Thank you children of MSBC for wanting to be like Jesus!!!

News You Can Use

By now you know that this weekend we are hosting Leadership and Public Commitment Events for the Imagine More Campaign. You should also have your pledge card.  We hope you’re prayerfully considering your two-year pledge amount.  Remember this commitment is above your regular tithes and offerings.  Next weekends’ commitment events are being coordinated under a baseball theme – help us win the game and realize the vision – bring your completed pledge card, continue to travel the spiritual journey, encourage others to get involved and, YES – feel free to wear your baseball gear.  It’s time to Imagine More.  Complete Campaign information is available on-line.

Our Christian Education Ministry has some exciting classes planned for their summer session.  What about these?  social media – the basics, a madden 16 challenge and hot yarn in the summertime.  It’s time for some “fun, relaxing learning.” There are also classes for young people and a unique parent/child discussion class.  Complete registration information is available online and at the Information Center.

Do you have any experience in video editing – if so, the ministry needs your help – contact Minister Johnnie Miller or Dr. Anthony Brown at the Church if you can help.

Imagine More – It’s also a  Spiritual Journey Project 120

Project 120 includes three components: daily scripture readings, prayer, and corporate fasts. • A One-Verse Scripture Challenge invites each of us to simply read and reflect on one weekly bible verse daily. This week’s verse is “Praise the Lord. Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good; his love endures forever." Psalm 106:1

• The 60-Second Prayer Challenge invites each of us to pray for one minute, each day at 1:20 p.m. throughout the challenge. • And finally, we will Fast Corporately each Tuesday from 8:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. This week we encourage you to Fast fixing things - Let the broken be broken for a day, whether it’s a tool or a heart. We realize the Imagine More Campaign involves a financial commitment, but Morning Star, we also understand that at its foundation is a spiritual journey of faith. Welcome to this collective time of prayer, reflection, devotion, and fasting as we reinforce our ultimate dependence on God. Complete Spiritual Journey information is available on our website and social media pages.
