A Legacy of Serving the Surgical Community For over half a century, Stryker has been developing products based on the expressed needs of leading practitioners. Introducing SMARTLock Hybrid MMF A revolutionary, patented product designed to combine the strength and rigidity of arch bars with the safety and efficiency of MMF screws. With nine potential points of fixation along the plate, posterior fixation and vector control are enhanced when compared to traditional MMF screws. The self-drilling, locking technology of the screws allows for purchase into both the bone and the plate for additional stability. This plate and screw combination omits the need for interdental wiring that is required with arch bars, and thereby reduces the chance of wire stick injuries for health care providers. You will only find this unique design from Stryker Craniomaxillofacial. US Pat. 8,118,850

FEATURE Reinvented versatile arch bar plate design

BENEFIT Eliminates interdental wiring

POTENTIAL VALUE Improves OR efficiency Reduces risk of wire stick injuries Eliminates risk of tooth loosening Eliminates need for OR based removal

Optimized self-drilling screw with patented SMARTLock technology

Minimizes risk of screw backout Rigid plate-to-screw construct

Strong, stable anterior and posterior fixation

Dedicated instrumentation

Ability to fixate with patient specific anatomical structures in mind

Reduces risk of tooth root injuries Reduces risk of pressure necrosis

US Pat. 6,322,562

Step By Step Instructions

Contour the plate.

1 Adjust the length of the locking plate with the cutter.

2 Insert locking screw into the center of the plate hole while positioning the spacer instrument between the mucosa and the metal rim of the plate hole. The bar of the middle plate hole is marked to provide midline orientation.

3

Verify that all plate holes are directed away from or placed in-between the tooth roots. Use the bender instrument for in-situ adjustments of the plate holes, if needed.

4 Insert a locking screw into at least every other plate hole while using the spacer instrument to avoid compression on the gingiva.

5 Use the hooks of the locking plates as anchor points to apply the wires between the mandible and maxilla.

Complementary Products Universal II System The Leibinger Universal CMF Trauma System represents the next generation of bone fixation for all Craniomaxillofacial fractures, orthognathic, and reconstructive needs.

Applications • Implant modules for specific anatomical areas • Fully customizable for clinician and hospital needs • Color coordinated "universal" instrumentation & implants • SMARTLock locking technology

CMF Customized Implants CMF Customized Implants (CI) are designed specifically for each patient to correct trauma and/or defects in maxillofacial or craniofacial bone. Stryker CI technology offers excellent anatomical fit and contour allowing surgeons to create exceptional cosmetic results.

Features • Three Material Choices: PMMA, PEEK & MEDPOR • Multiple thickness options • Electronic ordering and approval process (optional) • Sterile and non-sterile material options • Mandible augmentation implants available with MEDPOR material

PMMA

PEEK

MEDPOR Reconstructive Implants MEDPOR Porous Polyethylene Implants provide surgeons with an expanding range of options for reconstruction and augmentation. MEDPOR is a biocompatible, porous polyethylene material. The interconnecting, omni-directional pore structure may allow for fibrovascular in-growth and integration of the patient’s tissue. More than 400,000 procedures have been performed with MEDPOR Biomaterial, with more than 350 published clinical reports in cranial, reconstructive, oculoplastic and cosmetic applications.

MEDPOR

Applications • Craniofacial reconstruction and repair of the craniofacial skeleton • Implants with titanium mesh embedded in the MEDPOR Biomaterial are designed to help the implant retain its shape when bent and contoured to meet a specific patient defect • May be trimmed and cut with surgical scissors. • Easily fixated with plates/screws and designed to stay in place

Complementary Products Allograft Bio-Implants Stryker has collaborated with LifeNet Health, a leader in regenerative medicine that offers a variety of allograft bio-implants. Every year LifeNet Health distributes over 400,000 implants to meet the urgent needs of hospitals and patients around the world and delivers value by excelling in four critical areas: safety, quality, innovation, and service.

Features • Particulates, sponges, and structural implants available • Both mineralized and demineralized options for a wide variety of cortical and cancellous bone allografts • Patented Pulsatile Acid Demineralization (PAD) process achieves residual calcium levels between 1-4% providing bio-implants with osteoinductive potential • Patented Allowash XG achieves a sterility assurance level of 10 -6 for safety Pulsatile Acid Demineralization (PAD): US Pat. 5,275,954 and family Allowash XG: US Pat. 5,556,379

VitoMatrix B-TCP Bone Graft Substitutes Stryker's bone grafting portfolio also contains the Beta-Tricalcium Phosphate VitoMatrix as an alternative to allografts or autologous bone grafts.

Features • Three-dimensional matrix to support osteoblasts and precursor cells during bone regeneration • Trabecular structure that resembles the multidirectional interconnected porosity of human cancellous bone - 80% of VitoMatrix is resorbed within 12 weeks

Colorado Needle The Colorado Microdissection Needle has an ultra-sharp tip for clean, precise soft tissue dissection. The heat resistant tungsten alloy maintains tip sharpness, and is highly polished for easy cleaning. We offer a wide selection of needle electrodes and standard shaft sizes for use in standard handpieces.

Applications • Precise electro-cutting and coagulation during electrosurgery

Virtual Surgical Planning (VSP) Stryker has collaborated with Medical Modeling Inc., a leader in virtual surgical planning. VSP utilizes medical image data to accurately plan surgery in a computer environment and then transfer that virtual plan to the patient using customized instruments. The surgeon brings their clinical knowledge and desired surgical plan to an online web meeting, and Medical Modeling's engineers enable visualization of that plan in a virtual environment. Patient specific, disposable instruments are then created based on the surgeon's feedback to meet not only their needs, but also the needs of their patient.

Applications • Orthognathic surgical planning with CAD/CAM intermediate and final splints • Mandibular or maxillary reconstruction with free flaps • Trauma reduction surgery including repositioning guides and augmented altered DICOM data for navigation assistance • Distraction osteogenesis planning including vector positioning and distractor placement
