Meet our Dentists Dr. Tu Tran, DDS, Founding Dentist Dr. Tran is a Founding Dentist and owner of Kool Smiles, P.C. Dr. Tran was formerly the Lead Dentist at Smile High, General Dentistry for Children in Denver, Colorado. Before that, Dr. Tran worked at Perfect Teeth of Denver, Colorado. Dr. Tran received his undergraduate degree in biology and chemistry from the University of Denver and his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from the University of Colorado. Dr. Tran is a member of the American Dental Association, the Colorado Dental Association, and the Georgia Dental Association.

Dr. Paul O. Walker is a board-certified Pediatric Dentist with a Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from Northwestern University. He received a Master of Science degree, along with his specialty training, from Indiana University. He served as the Lead Pediatric Dentist for Health Partners, the Director of the Advanced Education Program in Pediatric Dentistry and the Director of the Hospital Dental Clinic at the University of Minnesota from 1972 to 1994. Dr. Walker is a fellow of the American College of Dentists and the International College of Dentists, as well as the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry. He was appointed by the governor to the Minnesota Board of Dentistry and the Dental Services Advisory Committee.

Dr. Dale Mayfield received his Doctor of Dental Medicine degree from the Medical College of Georgia. He spent 10 years in private practice in Decatur, Georgia, gaining extensive experience in all aspects of dentistry, including implants, complex crown and bridge cases, CEREC, and endodontics. With this experience, Dr. Mayfield decided to commit his expertise to providing quality dental care for the underserved by joining Kool Smiles in 2006 as an Executive Dental Officer. Dr. Mayfield is a member of the American Dental Association, the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, and the Northern District Dental Society.

Dr. David Vieth has over 30 years of experience in dentistry, with an extensive background in cosmetic dentistry. He received his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from Ohio State University, and, following graduation, Dr. Veith started a multi-specialty group dental practice in Buffalo, New York. The practice eventually expanded into four locations, with more than 150 employees and an integrated crown and bridge lab. After selling his practice in 2006, Dr. Vieth felt inspired by the American Dental Association´s rallying cry to improve access to dental care for the underserved. He joined Kool Smiles in 2007, and has been working tirelessly to achieve that mission in the years since. Dr. Vieth is a standing member of the American Dental Association and the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry.

Basic Job Requirements for All Kool Smiles Dentists and Specialists Diagnose dental conditions and create oral health care plans in consultation with patients.

Evaluate medical history and Provide high-quality dental care to our patients.

Follow ADA and American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry Guidelines.

Educate patients and parents about maintaining and improving oral health.

Ensure the satisfaction of patients and parents by providing fantastic customer service and same-day dental care.

Review treatment plans with patients and parents, and obtain informed consent before rendering treatment.

Adhere to Kool Smiles Quality Assurance Metrics as indicated in the Expanded Services orientation manual along with the guidelines of the ADA and AAOMS.

Provide general dental services including cleaning, examining, filling, repairing, and extracting teeth, as well as fitting crowns and administering anesthesia prior to dental procedures.

Adhere to all federal and government regulations, including the state dental board rules and regulations, HIPPA and OSHA regulations.
