A few of my favourite things

Close your eyes and imagine somewhere wonderful and fantastically magical. It could be anywhere, real or imagined. Then, bring it to life in a work of art. Your masterpiece could win your school R3 000 and be featured in Santam’s Child Art Calendar 2017.

A FEW OF MY FAVOURITE THINGS Close your eyes and imagine somewhere wonderful and fantastically magical. It could be anywhere, real or imagined. Then, bring it to life in a work of art.

SELECTION AND USE OF ARTWORKS 1

Each year Santam selects independent judges to adjudicate

the work. Their decisions are final and no correspondence

will be entered into.

2

All participating schools and art centres will be notified of

the results of the adjudication.

3

Details of the winners and their artworks may be given to

the media.

4

Some selected works will be used in Santam’s Child Art

Calendar 2017.

5

Santam retains the right to exhibit, reproduce or use any

work at its sole discretion.

PRIZES The school and art centre that produce the most selected artworks per age category will receive R3 000. All learners whose entries are selected will receive a medal and a certificate. Special awards will be made to schools or art centres whose learners participate for the first time and whose artworks are selected.

HISTORY Santam’s Child Art Project started in 1963 to give children an opportunity to express and present their thoughts and ideas creatively. In an active effort to fulfil the need for art education in disadvantaged communities, Santam has joined forces with the Ibhabhathane Project (www.frankjoubertartcentre.co.za) to present arts and culture teacher workshops. We also offer free art classes to children from these communities.
