ÖZET Günümüzde, implant uygulamaları diş hekimliği pratiğinin önemli bir tedavi seçeneğidir. Gerek immediyat implant uygulamalarında, gerek standart implantasyon protokollerinde kullanılmak üzere çok sayıda implant seçeneği bulunmaktadır. Bu implant sistemlerinin her birinin

kendine özgü avantaj ve dezavantajları bulunmakla birlikte, vakanın ihtiyaçlarına göre implant seçilmesi hem hekim hem de hastanın avantajına olabilir. Bu sunumda implantların makro vi mikro dizayn özellikleri üzerinde durulacak, implant sistemlerinin birbiri ile kıyaslaması yapılarak, vakaya uygun implant seçimi kriterleri tartışılacaktır.

ABSTRACT Today, implants have become an important treatment option in the daily dental practice. Lots of different implants have been introduced for immediate and standard implantation purposes. Each implant system has its own advantages and disadvantages, and utilization of the

implant based on specific requirements might be an advantage both for the dentist and the patient. In this presentation, macro and micro specifications of implants will be demonstrated, characteristics of different implans will be compared, and appropriate implant-case selection strategies will be discussed.

ÖZET İmplant gereksinimi olan hastaların, gerek görüntü gerekse fonksiyon ve dayanıklılık açısından beklentileri yüksektir. Bu beklenti karşısında doğal olarak mantıklı bir çözüm ve yüksek standartlı bir tedavi gerekir. Bunun yolu da dikkatli bir planlama ve hazırlıktır. Riski azaltmanın en mantıklı yolu, uygun vakanın seçimi ve risk faktörlerinin elemine edilmesidir. Başarılı bir implant uygulaması ve komplikasyonlarla mücadele, bir takım cerrahi rekonstrüktif işlemler gerektirebilir. Risk

faktörlerini tanıma ve implantın sağlıklı bir şekilde uzun süre kullanımı için gerekli olan bakımı uygulama aynı düzeyde önem taşır.

ABSTRACT Every patient has high expectations of dental implants in terms of appearance, function and longevity. It is essential that these expectations are realistically managed and that treatment of the highest standard is provided. This involves very careful evaluation. Proper case selection is the most important aspect of implant risk management. Provision of a successful implant restoration requires many skills including a surgical reconstructive procedures to place the implant in the best possible position and prosthodontic techniques to provide an aesthetic

restoration in occlusal harmony with the rest of the dentition. Recognition of risk factors and long-term maintenance requirements are equally important.

İyi bir implant uygulaması ve tedavinin iyi sonuçlanması, hekimin bununla ilgili alt yapısının iyi olması, risk faktörlerini iyi yönetebilmesi ve olası komplikasyonlarla başa çıkabilmesine bağlıdır. Bu konuşmada, implantolojide risk faktörleri ve olası komplikasyonlar ve tedavileri üzerinde durulacaktır.

Clinicians involved in these treatments must obtain adequate training and develop skills through treatment of straightforward cases using well established protocols before embarking on more demanding cases. In this study, management of risk factors and possible complications in implantology will be presented.

ÖZET Uyku bozukluğunun en yaygın görülen sağlık problemlerinden biri olduğu fakat uykuyla ilgili solunum bozukluğu olan yetişkinlerin %82-98’inin teşhis edilmediği bildirilmiştir.

ÖZET Maksiller sinüs lift işlemi günümüzde sıklıkla kullanılan ve çok yönlü bir tekniktir. Günümüzde farklı implantasyon koşullarında implantları posterior maksilla bölgesine yerleştirmek için yaygın olarak kullanılmaktadır. Maksiller sinüs alanına implant yerleştirilmesi için farklı

materyaller ve teknikler kullanılmış ve sinüs lifting işleminin başarısı kanıtlanmıştır. Bu sunumda sinüs lifting prosedürlerinden, yenik teknikler ve greft materyallerinden bahsedilecek ve alternatif tedavi seçeneklerinden bahsedilecektir.

ABSTRACT The maxillary sinus lift is a well-known and versatile technique. It is widely used today to place implants in the posterior maxillary under different installation conditions. Different materials and techniques have been explored for the installation of implants in the maxillary

sinus area, demonstrating the success of these implants. The aim of this presentation will discuss sinüs floor reconstruction procedures, to determine new techniques and graft materials and alternative treatment options.

Diş hekimlerinin sağlık sorunlarının teşhisindeki yardımcı rolü çok önemlidir. Diş hekimleri, artık sadece dental yapıların tedavisi ile ilgilenmemeli, uyku rahatsızlığı ve diğer sağlık sorunların teşhisini de yapabilmelidir. Epidemiyolojik veriler uyku rahatsızlığı ile diğer sağlık sorunlarının ilişkisinin her geçen gün daha çok farkına varıldığını göstermektedir. Bu konuda yapılan çok kapsamlı çalışmalar, uyku bozuklukları ile genel sağlık arasındaki ilişkiyi her yönü ile ortaya koymuştur.

ABSTRACT Sleep disorders are one of the most common health problems, but 82-98% sleep-related breathing disorder in adults is reported as non- diagnosed. The role of dentists is very important in helping the diagnosis of health problems. Dentists today, shouldn’t only deal with treatment of dental structures but should also be able to make the diagnosis of sleep disorders and other health problems. Epidemiological data shows that the relationship between sleep disorders and other health problems is being more realised every day. A very comprehensive work on this subject, has revealed every aspect of the relationship between sleep disorders and general health

Diş hekimi uyku bozukluğu olan hastalarının, özellikle de horlama ve/veya obstruktif uyku apnesi (OSA) hastalarının teşhisinde çok büyük öneme sahiptir. Diş hekimleri potansiyel uyku bozukluğu hastalarını sadece teşhis etmemeli, bu hastaları ilgili hekime yönlendirebilmeli ve endikasyonu varsa ağız içi apareylerle tedavi de edebilmelidir. Günümüzde uyku rahatsızlığının tedavi alanına diş hekimlerinin de girmiş olması oldukça heyecan verici bir durumdur. Bu sunumda uyku ile ilgili genel tıp bilgileri verilerek, bu hastaları değerlendirme ve tedavi etme olanağı sunmayı hedeflemektedir. Uyku tıbbı ve diş hekimliği ile ilgili yayınlar sürekli artmaktadır. Amacım değerli meslektaşlarıma bu sunumdan sonra ömür boyu öğrenme yolunda bir katkı sağlamaktır.

Dentists have great importance in the diagnosis of patients with sleep disorders, especially snoring and/or obstructive sleep apnea (OSA). Dentists must not only identify potential sleep disorder patients, but also should lead these patients to correct physicians or if there is endication should be able to give treatment with intraoral appliances. Nowadays, the treatment of a sleep disorder is at a pretty exciting situation to be entered in the field of dentists. In this presentation, by giving sleep-related general medical information, we hope to offer the opportunity to treat and evaluate these patients. Publications in the field of sleep medicine and Dentistry is constantly increasing. My goal is a contribution towards a lifelong learning to my valuable colleagues after this presentation.

ÖZET Mekanik eğeleme, endodontik mikrobiyal enfeksiyonun kontrolünde hala başarılı bir endodonti için kritik bir adımdır. Bu konuda, kök kanal tedavisinin geçmişte kabul görmüş olan bazı temel kavramlarını inceleyecek ve tartışılacaktır: Giriş kavitesi hazırlanması, straight-line girişi ve preflaring, crown-down and step-back teknikleri, açıları ve apikal preparasyon ölçüleri.

ÖZET Maksiller anterior bölgede, elde edilecek estetik sonuç ve bunun uzun dönem devamlılığı çok büyük önem taşımaktadır. Bu, yeterli fonksiyon ve fonetikle birlikte en önemli başarı kriteri ve tedavi hedefidir. İdeal bir estetik sonuç elde edebilmek için çekim sonrası gerçekleşen biyolojik olayları anlamak ve bilmek çok önemlidir. Çekim sonrası gerçekleşen biyolojik sürecin bilinmesiyle birlikte günümüzde iyi belirlenmiş tedavi kriterleri mevcuttur. İmplant yerleştiriminin zamanlamasının doğru

belirlenmesi tedavi sonuçlarını direk etkilemektedir. Sadece implant cerrahisinin zamanlaması değil aynı zamanda yumuşak doku maniplasyonlarının bilinmesi ve bir takım olarak çalışılması da çok önemlidir. Bu sunumda, katılımcılar implant cerrahisi için zamanlama kriterlerini, cerrahi öncesinde, sırasında veya sonrasında yumuşak doku maniplasyon tekniklerini ve bunların tedavi sonuçlarını nasıl etkileyebileceğini öğrenebileceklerdir.

ABSTRACT In the anterior maxilla, the esthetic outcome and its long term stability is of paramount importance. This is the most important goal of implant therapy, followed by proper function and phonetics. An optimal esthetic outcome requires a thorough understanding of the underlying biological processes of bone and soft tissue healing following tooth extraction. With the knowledge of tissue biology in postextraction sites, well defined selection criteria are available today. Choosing the right

timing of implant placement directly affects the outcome of the treatment. Not only the timing of implant placement but also the management and manipulation of the soft tissue and also working as a team is important. In this lecture; the audience can learn the selection criteria for the timing of the implant placement, how to do the soft tissue managements during, before or after the implant placement, how this soft tissue managements affect the outcomes of the treatment and the importance of working as a team.

The lecture will analyze some of the basic concepts of root canal instrumentation, which have been established in the past, but still are discussed: access cavity preparation, straight-line access, glide path and pre-flaring, crown-down and step-back techniques, tapers and dimensions of apical preparation.

ÖZET All-on-4 tekniği, hemen yüklenen tam ark protezi desteklemek için dört implant kullanarak dişsiz hastalara verimli ve etkili bir restorasyon sağlamak için geliştirilmiştir. Bu konsept, minimum kemik yüksekliği olan bölgelerinde eğik implantlar kullanarak atrofik çenelerde iyi stabilite sağlar ve kemik takviyesi ve sinüs lifting gibi karmaşık uzun süreli prosedürlerin gerekliliğini engeller. Vida tutuculu restorasyon için özel trans-mukozal açılı ve düz çok birimli abutmentler kullanılması bu vakalarda protez prosedürlerini basitleştirir. ABSTRACT The All on 4 technique was developed to provide edentulous patients with an efficient and effective restoration using four implants to support immediately loaded full-arch prosthesis. This concept offers good stability in atrophic jaws using tilted implants in minimum bone height regions and avoids the need of complicate long term procedures as bone augmentation and sinus lift. The use of special trans-mucosal angled and straight multi-unit abutments for screw retained restoration, simplifies the prosthetic procedures in these cases. The immediate loading of implants in native bone or in post-extractive sockets provides function, aesthetic and social life for the patient, from the post-operative till the end of the treatment. Introduction: The purpose of this lecture is to allow dentists to propose, with high predictability, immediate esthetical and functional rehabilitation for edentulous and patients with terminal dentition. ÖZET Ozon tedavisi diş hekimliğinde aşağıdaki problemleri tedavi etmek için başarılı bir şekilde kullanılmıştır: Dişeti hastalıkları, Periodontal sorunlar, Diş çekildikten sonra dezenfekte etme, Dişlerde veya ağızda enfeksiyonlar, Diş çürüğü, Diş hassasiyeti, boğaz yaraları. Ozon: Üç oksijen atomundan (O3) oluşan kimyasal bir bileşiktir. Bu üçüncü atom oksijeni dengesiz kılar ve ozon oluşturur. Oksijen / Ozon, canlı sisteme dahil edildiğinde, “geçici oksidatif patlama” yaratır. Enfektif mikroorganizmaların reaksiyona karşı doğal bir savunması yoktur ve sonuç olarak aşırı stres altındadır ve ölürler. Böylece, Oksijen / Ozon tedavi edilen alanı hem güvenli hem de etkili şekilde dezenfekte eder.

ABSTRACT Ozone therapy has been successfully used in dentistry to treat the following problems: Gum disease, Periodontal issues, Disinfecting after tooth extraction, Infections in the teeth or around the mouth, Tooth decay, Tooth sensitivity, Canker sores. Ozone: A chemical compound consisting of three oxygen atoms ( O3). That third atom makes the oxygen unstable and creates ozone. Oxygen/Ozone, when introduced into the living system, creates what is called a “transient oxidative burst”. The infective microorganisms have no natural defense against the reaction, and, as a result, are overstressed and die. Thus, Oxygen/Ozone disinfects the area treated, both safely and effectively.

Bu “oksidatif patlama” ayrıca birçok doğal biyokimyasal ve fizyolojik reaksiyon içerir. Bu reaksiyonlar, daha iyi kan akışı, artmış bağışıklık yanıtı ve daha hızlı bir iyileşme tepkisi içerir. Bilimsel literatür, diş hekimliğinde oksijen / ozon tedavisinin etkililiğini ve emniyetini desteklemek için geniş bir aralıktadır. Tarihsel olarak, İsviçre diş hekimi, E.A. Fisch, diş hekimliğinde oksijen / ozon kavramını tanıtan 1900’lü yılların başında Dr. Payr’ı tıp dünyasına tanıttı. Bilimsel olarak şimdi, oksijen / ozon tedavilerinin nasıl ve neden bu kadar iyi çalıştığını anlıyoruz. Bu, son yıllarda, özellikle diş hekimliğinde, birçok tedavi ilerlemesine neden olmuştur. Son zamanlarda, Uluslararası Ağız Tıbbı ve Toksikoloji Akademisi, diş hekimliği alanında bilimsel olarak geçerli olan Oksijen / Ozonu incelemiş ve kabul etmiştir.

This “oxidative burst” also includes a multitude of natural biochemical and physiological reactions. These reactions include better blood flow, enhanced immune response, and a more rapid healing response. The scientific literature is vast in support of the effectiveness and safety of oxygen / ozone therapy in dentistry. Historically, it was a Swiss dentist, E.A. Fisch in the early 1900’s who introduced the concept of oxygen/ozone in dentistry, followed by Dr. Payr who introduced this treatment into the medical community. Scientifically we now understand how and why oxygen/ozone therapies work so well. This has lead to many treatments advances in the last number of years, especially in dentistry. Recently, the International Academy of Oral Medicine and Toxicology reviewed and accepted Oxygen / Ozone in dentistry as scientifically valid.

ÖZET Konuşma, yemek yeme ve duygularımızı ifade etmeyi, günlük hayatımızın en önemli faaliyetlerinden sayabiliriz. Bunların hepsini ağzımız ve çevre dokularımızla yaparız. Mikropların vücuda giriş yollarından en önemlisi ağızdır. Tükettiğimiz besinlerde ve doğada oldukça fazla

mikroorganizma vardır. Bu mikroorganizmalar ağızda oldukça fazladır. Uygun şekilde uzaklaştırılmadığında, ağız içi dokularında birikir ve hastalık yapıcı hale gelir. Buradan başlayan ağız içi hastalıkları, vücudumuzun birçok sisteminde etkili olabilir ve uzun dönemde genel sağlığımızı olumsuz etkiler.

ÖZET Günümüzde, ağız hastalıkları “ortak risk faktörü yaklaşımı” içinde ortak, önlenebilir ve yaşam tarzı ile ilgili hastalıklar olarak kabul edilmektedir. Bu nedenle, ağız hastalıklarını önlemek ve ağız sağlığını geliştirmek için hasta merkezli ve önleyici ağız bakımına daha fazla önem

verilmektedir. Hastanın ağız sağlığı ve ağız sağlığı okuryazarlığını iyileştirmek için, hastanın özel ihtiyaçlarını temel alan bireyselleştirilmiş ağız hijyen planının geliştirilmesi hasta odaklı bakımda önemli bir aşamadır. Bu sunumun amacı, ağız sağlığı profesyonelleri için hasta merkezli ağız hijyeni uygulamaları hakkında yararlı bilgiler sağlamaktır.

ABSTRACT We can consider eating, talking and expressing our emotions as the most important activities in our daily lives. We do them all with our facial parts. Microorganisms most important way of entry in our bodies is by mouth. The mouth is an ideal environment for biofilm development. There is quite a number of microorganisms in the nature and

the food we eat. There are a lot of these organisms in our mouth. If not removed regularly, they accumulate in oral soft tissues and the resulting pathogenic bacterial complex . Oral diseases caused by has been associated with various systemic diseases and disorders in the long term.

ABSTRACT To date, oral diseases are accepted as common, preventable and lifestyle related diseases within the “the common risk factor approach”. Thus, there are given more emphasis on patient centered and preventive oriented oral care to prevent oral diseases and to promote oral

health. To improve patient’s oral health and oral health literacy, developing individualized oral hygiene plan based on a patient’s specific needs is the most important stage in the patient centered care. The aim of this presentation is to provide useful information about patientcentered dental hygiene practices for oral health professionals.

ABSTRACT Background: Salivary secretor status and ABO blood group have role on impact some oral disease status. Objective: To assess the correlation between blood group (ABO), salivary secretor status and dental caries. Materials & Methods: Cross-sectional study was carried out on 30 female patients aged between 20 to 50 years, attending to UMM AL-QURA University. ABO blood grouping was done by slide agglutination method and 1 ml of unstimulated saliva is collected in a sterile test tube. Hemagglutination inhibition test was performed to analyze the salivary secretor status. Caries experience was assessed by using WHO index and DMFT score. Results: DMFT index scores were differ-

ent among the four blood groups. But, differences were statistically insignificant (p> 0. 05). Salivary secretor status was different among the four blood groups with highest percentage of secretors were of blood group A (85. 7%) and those of non-secretors were of blood group AB (60%). The mean value of DMFT index was higher in non-secretor than secretor status; however, differences were statistically insignificant (p > 0. 05). Conclusion: Although higher percentage of ABO blood group non-secretors have dental caries than secretors but the difference was non-significant. ÖZET Amaç: Bu çalışmada, çocuk diş hekimlerinin oral radyoloji hakkındaki bilgilerini hangi kaynaklardan edindiklerinin değerlendirilmesi amaçlanmıştır. Materyal ve metod: Çalışmada pedodontistlere “Oral radyoloji hakkındaki bilginizi nasıl güncellersiniz?” sorusu geniş kapsamlı oral radyoloji bilgi ve uygulama anket araştırmasının bir parçası olarak sorulmuştur. Demografik veriler, hekimlerin, yaş, cinsiyet, mesleki deneyim yılı, çalışma durumu (Doktora öğrencisi, serbest muayenehane, üniversite vb.) kaydedildilmiş ve verilere tanımlayıcı istatistiksel değerlendirme yapılıp değerler frekans (%) olarak verilmiştir . Bu çalışma için etik kurul onayı alınmıştır. (Etik no 09.2017.135 ). Bulgular: Toplamda dağıtılan 250 anketten 149’una yanıt gelmiştir. Sonuçta değerlendirmeye ancak 93 anket alınabilmiştir. Bu çalışmaya katılan pedodontistlerin yaş ortalamaları 32.6±7.2 dir. Katılımcıların büyük bir çoğunluğunu (63.4%) akademisyen-

ler oluşturmaktadır. Katılımcıların %30.1’i özel muayenehanelerde çalışmakta olup tüm anket katılımcıları oral radyoloji hakkındaki bilgilerini güncellemek için en çok “Kongreler ve Sergiler”’i (% 67.7) tercih ettiklerini bildirmişlerdir. Bilgileri güncellemek için ikinci sırada en çok kullanılan yöntemin internet üzerinden bilgilenmek olduğu belirlenmiştir (51.6 %). Katılımcıların yaklaşık 1/3’ü konferanslardan ve mezuniyet sonrası eğitimden yararlandıklarını söylerken yaklaşık 1/4‘ü firma temsilcileri aracılığıyla oral radyoloji hakkındaki bilgilerini güncellediklerini bildirmişlerdir. Sonuç: Pedodontistlerin oral radyoloji bilgileri konusunda güncel kalmak için kongrelere ve sergilere katılmalarının tercih edilen faydalı bir yol olduğu görülmüştür. İnternetin bilgi güncelleme açısından pedodontistler tarafından sıklıkla tercih edilen bir yöntem olduğu kaydedilmiştir. Anahtar Kelime: Mesleki Güncelleme, Oral Radyoloji, Pedodontist.

ABSTRACT Aim: The aim of this study was to evaluate the oral radiology information sources of pediatric dentists. Materials and methods: The question of “how do you update your knowledge of oral radiology?” was asked as a part of large oral radiology survey. Demographic data i.e. age, gender, years of professional experience, working situation (e.g. PhD student, private practice, university) were recorded. Data was evaluated according to descriptive statistics, which is presented as percentages (%). Ethical approval was obtained for this study (with the number of 09.2017.135). Results: A total of two hundred and fifty questionnaires were distributed. One hundred and forty-nine participants responded the questionnaire. By the end, a total of ninety-three questionnaires were available for the evaluation. The mean age of the

pediatric dentists participating in this study was 32.6±7.2 years. Most of the respondents (63.4%) were academicians. Of the respondents, 30.1% reported that they worked in private practice. The most preferable way for updating the knowledge regarding oral radiology was stated as “Congresses and exhibitions, (67.7%)”. Internet was found as the second preferred source (51.6 %). Of the respondents, a third reported that they update their knowledge by conferences and continuing education whilst a quarter by company representative. Conclusion: Congresses and exhibitions about radiology practices were found beneficial to be up to date. The use of the internet is getting increasingly common practice by pediatric dentists. ÖZET Amaç: Kemik içi implant uygulamaları son yıllardaki gelişmeler ile birlikte protetik rehabilitasyon sürecinin vazgeçilmez bileşeni olmuştur. Ancak kemik içi implantların uygulanabilirliği, kemiğin sahip olduğu hacimsel özellik ile sınırlıdır. Kemiğin hacimsel olarak yeterli olmadığı durumlarda bölgedeki kemiğin arttırılması için çeşitli greft uygulamalarına ihtiyaç duyulmaktadır. Bulgular: 43 yaşındaki kadın hasta periodontal hastalık şikayetiyle İstanbul Üniversitesi Oral İmplantoloji Ana Bilim Dalı’na başvurdu. Oral ve radyografik muayenesinde çeneler arası sınıf III ilişkisi gözlemlenen hastada; ileri derecede kronik periodontitise bağlı kemik rezorbsiyonu ve maksillada sinüs bölgesinde

yetersiz kemik yüksekliği tespit edildi. Materyal/Metod: Mobil dişlerin çekilmesini takiben dişler partiküllü otojen grefte dönüştürülerek; sinüs ogmentasyonu, çekim soketlerinin greftlenmesi ve periimplanter defektlerin rekonstrüksiyonunda kullanıldı. Aynı seansta implantlar yerleştirildi. İmplantların osseointegrasyonunu takiben alt üst bar tutuculu overdenture protezle protetik restorasyon tamamlandı. Sonuç: Otojen dentin greftlerinin çeşitli kemik defektleri, ogmentasyon işlemleri ve implant tedavilerinde başarılı olduğu ve diğer greft materyallerine alternatif olarak kullanılabileceği gözlemlenmiştir. ABSTRACT Purpose: Endosseous dental implants have become indispensable elements in prosthetic rehabilitation with the recent advances. The volume of the alveolar process is a limiting factor for the placement of endosseous dental implants. In a case of insufficient volume of the alveolar ridge is a prerequisite that is generally performed with different graft materials. In a case of insufficient volume of the alveolar process, is necessary that to use various graft materials for the augmentation of the deficient alveolar ridge. Results: A 43-year-old female patient was admitted to Istanbul University Oral Implantology Department with complains of periodontal disease. On the oral and radiographic examination, the patient was observed to have class III

interrelationships; Furthermore bone resorption due to chronic periodontitis and insufficient bone height in the sinus area were observed. Material/method: The teeth are extracted and converted into particulate autogenous grafts. It was used in sinus augmentation, in grafting of graft sockets and in reconstruction of periimplanter defects. The implants were placed at the same time. Following osseointegration of the implants, prosthetic restoration was completed with an overdenture prosthesis. Conclusion: It has been observed that autogenous dentin grafts are successful in various bone defects, augmentation procedures and implant treatments and may be used as an alternative treatment to other graft materials. ÖZET Amaç: Maksilla ve mandibulaya yapılan implant destekli overdenture protezlerde bar, ball, locator, magnetik ve teleskopik ataşman gibi çeşitli tutucu ataşman sistemleri kullanılmaktadır. Bu vakada, locator ataşmanlar kullanılarak dengeli ve retantif bir implant destekli overdenture protez yapımı ve bu protezin takibi amaçlanmıştır. Gereç ve yöntemler: Maksillada hem diş destekli hem de implant destekli bir overdenture protezi bulunan 65 yaşındaki erkek hasta, çiğneme sırasında dişlerinde ağrı ve protez tutuculuğunun azalması nedeniyle kliniğimize başvurmuştur. Yapılan muayenede, maksiller sol bölgede kanin ve 1. premolar bölgesinde 2 adet komşu implant ve bu implantların üstünde locator ataşmanlar bulunduğu ve maksiller sağ bölgede ise kanin ve 1. premoların kronlanarak, 1. premoların distaline bir adet topuz başlı hassas tutucu yerleştirildiği görülmüştür. Mandibulada ise, sağ ve sol posterior bölgelerde implant

destekli sabit protezler mevcuttur. Yapılan klinik ve radyografik muayeneler sonucunda, perküsyon hassasiyeti ve mobilitesi olan maksiller sağ kanin ve 1. premoların çekimine karar verilmiştir. Dişlerin çekimini takiben, sağ lateral ve 1. premolar bölgesine iki adet implant yerleştirilmesi ve bu implantların üzerine de locator ataşman sistemleri kullanılması planlanmıştır. Böylece, maksiller sağ ve sol bölgelerde çift taraflı implant destekli locator ataşmanların kullanımı ile dengeli ve retantif bir protez dizaynı amaçlanmıştır. Bulgular: Hasta, daha önce kullandığı diş ve implant destekli proteze kıyasla çift taraflı implant destekli locator tutuculu overdenture protezin tutuculuğu ve estetiğinden memnun kalmıştır. Sonuç: Diş ve implant desteğinin bir arada kullanıldığı overdenture protezlerin prognozu tartışmalıdır. Hastaların beklentileri, dişlerin prognozu ve implant planlamaları kapsamlı olarak değerlendirilmelidir. Anahtar Kelime: Overdenture Protezler, Locator Ataşman, İmplant, Retansiyon.

ABSTRACT Aim: Various attachment systems are used for maxillary and mandibular implant supported overdentures such as; bar, ball, locator, magnetic and telescopic attachments. In this case, it is aimed to produce balanced and retentive implant supported overdentures using locator attachments and follow this prosthesis. Material and Methods: A 65-year-old male patient with maxillary overdenture both with tooth-supported and implant-supported applied to our clinic due to reduction of prosthetic retantion and pain in the teeth during chewing. It was observed that there were two adjacent implants in the maxillary left canine and first premolar and locator attachments on these implants. On the right side of maxillary, it was seen that the canine and first premolar are crowned and a ball precision attachment was placed the distal surface of the first premolar. In the mandible, implant supported fixed prostheses are available in the right and left

posterior regions. As a result of clinical and radiographic examinations, it has been decided to extract the maxillary right canine and first premolar with percussive sensitivity and mobility. Following the extraction of the teeth, placement of two implants in the right lateral and first premolar regions and using locator attachment systems on these implants planned. Thus, a balanced and retentive prosthesis design was aimed with the use of double-sided implant-supported locator attachments in the maxillary right and left regions. Results: The patient was satisfied with the retantion and esthetics of double-sided implant-supported locator attachment overdenture compared to the tooth and implant-supported prosthesis previously used. Conclusion: The prognosis of overdentures in which tooth and implant support are used together is controversial. Patient expectations, prognosis of teeth and implant planing should be evaluated extensively. Key words: Overdenture Protezler, Locator Ataşman, İmplant, Retansiyon.

ÖZET Estetik bölgede interdental papilin rejenerasyonunun elde edilmesi diş rekonstrüksiyonlarında zorlu bir işlemdir. Hyalüronik asit fasial estetikde kullanılan bir materyal olmasına karşın dental bölgelerde de kullanılmaktadır. Bu çalışmanın amacı, dişlerarası papil rekonstrüksiyonunda hyalüronik asit ile rejenerasyonunun sağlanmasıdır. Sistemik durumu sağlıklı, sınıf1 ve sınıf 2 interdental papilla kaybı

olan 10 hasta çalışmaya dahil edilmiştir. Lokal anestezi sonrasında yaklaşık 0,2 ml hyalüronik asit jel enjekte edildi. Her papil alanı ayrı ayrı değerlendirildi. 6 hastanın interdental alanında %100 kapanma sağlanırken, 2 hastanın %70 ve 2 hastanında %50 kapanma sağlanmıştır. Hyalüronik asit jel enjeksiyonu papil rejenerasyonu için umut verici bir tedavi olabilir. Anahtar Kelime: Papil Rejenerasyonu, Hyalüronik asit , Estetik Alan.

ABSTRACT Obtaining predictable and aesthetically pleasing interdental papilla is challenging dental reconstruction. Hyaluronic acid gel has been successfully used to reduce facial creases and similar abnormalities. The significance of the interdental papilla to smile aesthetics can be gleaned from the level of aesthetic concern generated either by changes in papilla dimensions. The purpose of this clinical study was to examine the clinical following aesthetic reconstruction of interdental papilla loss in anterior teeth, using an injectable, non-animal-based, hyaluronic acid gel. Ten systemically healthy adults, with at least one anterior site with class I or II interdental papilla loss, were recruited. Following local anesthesia, 0,2 ml of hyaluronic acid gel was injected

directly into the base of the papilla. The injection was repeated twice 7 days later. Differences in lost papilla surface area between baseline and postoperative time points were statistically analyzed. Each site was individually evaluated. Six patients had 100% improvement between treatment examinations. Two patients improved from 70 to 85%, and others improved from 50 to 60%. Patients in this study were treated with a minimally invasive method for enhancing deficient papillae adjacent to teeth. Improvements were maintained for a range of 1 week to 12 months. Injectable hyaluronic acid gel may be a promising treatment for enhancing papillary esthetics. Key words: Papilla Regeneration, Hyaluronic acid, Aesthetic Zone.

ABSTRACT Background: An important aspect in endodontic practice is controlling the pain during and after root canal treatment (Rosenberg, 2002); to control the postoperative pain several strategies have been developed including using analgesics drugs, long standing anesthesia and different techniques in root canal preparation. (Pochapski et. al. 2009) (Attar et. al. 2008) (Parirokh et. al. 2012) (Parirokh et. al 2013) (Gambarini et. al 2012). Objective: This study was conducted to evaluate and compare the effect of intracanal cryotherapy in reducing postoperative pain in patients with irreversible pulpitis. Method: A randomized control trial study had been conducted among 36 patients with irreversible pulpitis

and visual analogue scale (VAS) was used to evaluate and compare their postoperative pain after intracanal cryotherapy. Results: A statistical significant difference was found when comparing the pain level in cryotherapy group (subgroup I1) with control group (subgroup II) 24,48 hours postoperatively, But there was no statistical significant difference when comparing the pain level in cryotherapy subgroup I2 with control subgroup II2 after 24,48 hours postoperatively (p>0.05). Conclusion: Using intracanal cryotherapy is effective in reducing postoperative pain in patients with irreversible pulpitis with apical periodontitis. But it has no effect in patients with irreversible pulpitis without apical periodontitis. Key words: Intracanal Cryotherapy, Postoperative Pain.

ABSTRACT Introduction: Dental caries is a multifactorial disease. Salivary IgA is considered the first line of defense against pathogenic bacteria. Controversial conclusions have been reported regarding the relationship between salivary IgA and dental caries activity; some studies demonstrated high concentrations of salivary IgA in a lower caries activity. Other studies showed high levels of salivary IgA with an increase in caries activity. Some authors did not observe any correlation. The Aim: The aim of the present study is to assess the relation between the level of salivary IgA and dental caries in healthy children living in Makkah

city. Materials and Methods: The study included a total of 90 children of both genders, age range from 7- to 12-year-old. Dental caries was assessed and stimulated whole salivary samples were collected from the subjects. The samples were transported then stored in saliva collection tubes. The salivary IgA levels were measured using Human IgA ELISA kit. Results and Conclusion: There is a negative correlation between the increase in the mean levels of salivary IgA with the reduction in dental caries activity in children. This would reflect the salivary IgA protective mechanism against dental caries in the whole saliva of low caries-active children.

ÖZET İmplantların primer stabilitesinin ölçümlerinde çeşitli yöntemler ve cihazlar kullanılmaktadır. Bu çalışmanın amacı, implantların primer stabilitesinin değerlendirilmesinde kullanılan RFA cihazlarından Osstell ve Penguin RFA’nın, tekrarlayan ölçümlerde ve farklı ortamlarda güvenilirliğinin araştırılmasıdır. Çalışmamızda 40 adet 4,3 mm çapında 10 mm uzunluğunda implant kullanıldı. Her grupta 10 örnek olacak şekilde 4 grup oluşturuldu. Tüm gruplarda implantlar, 15 mm çapında ve 12 mm yüksekliğindeki metal halkalara dökülen polivinilsiloksan ölçü materyali, yumuşak akrilik, polikarboksilat siman ve sert akrilik içerisine yerleştirildi. Primer stabilite ölçümlerinde Osstell ve Penguin RFA cihazları kullanıldı. 10 adet örneğin ölçümleri her bir cihaz için 3’er kez tekrarlandı. Çalışma verileri değerlendirilirken parametrelerin normal dağılıma uygunluğu Shapiro Wilks testi ile değerlendirildi ve parametrelerin normal dağılım göstermediği saptandı. Verilerin değerlendirilmesinde Kruskal Wallis testi ve Bonferroni Düzeltmeli Mann Whitney U test kullanıldı. Ölçümler
