Dr. Mathison is a Stanford educated, triple-board certified physician, and founder of Catalyst Medical Center. She received her medical degree from the University of Texas-Southwestern Medical School, Dallas, TX. After completing seven years of specialty training in Seattle at the University of WA, she returned home to Fargo in 1997. Catalyst Medical Center is an integrative multispecialty clinic that provides dermatology, lasers, clinical spa treatments, as well as allergy and sinus treatments, hearing health, ENT and sleep medicine in a holistic environment. Catalyst has been twice recognized as The Best Cosmetic/Esthetic Clinic in the region by Forum Readers. Dr Mathison is also the medical director of Winmar Sleep Wellness Center. While her busy medical practice is her main focus, her blog www.PositivelyBeautiful.com and weekly newspaper column have earned her 30,000+ readers and social media fans locally and around the world. She has served on numerous non-profit boards, including Dakota Medical Foundation, Impact Foundation, and the Plains Art Museum.

2016 CONFERENCE GUEST SPEAKERS Wendy L. Wright, MS, RN, APRN, FNP, FAANP, FAAN Wendy is a 1992 graduate of the Adult Primary Care Nurse Practitioner program at Simmons College in Boston, Massachusetts and completed a family nurse practitioner post-master’s program in 1995. She is an adult and family nurse practitioner and the owner of two, nurse practitioner owned and operated clinics within New Hampshire named: Wright & Associates Family Healthcare at Amherst and at Concord. In addition, she is the Owner of Partners in Healthcare Education, a medical education company. She is the Past President of NPACE and the Senior lecturer for Fitzgerald Health Education Associates. She is the recipient of numerous awards and was chosen by the American Association of Nurse Practitioners as the 1999 recipient of the New Hampshire State Excellence Award. In addition, she received the 2009 NH Nurse Practitioner of the Year, the 2014 Top 5 Women in New Hampshire Business Award and in 2005, she was inducted as a Fellow into the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners; a position held by only 450 other nurse practitioners throughout the country. In October 2014, Wendy was also inducted as a Fellow in the American Academy of Nursing. She is the founder of the NH Chamber of Entrepreneurial Nurse Practitioners, an organization designed to assist nurse practitioners with independent practice issues. In addition, she is an Editor for Practice Management – a new e-journal created for NPs interested in independent practice and practice management. Wendy served as the Chair for the 2014 AANP Conference in Nashville, TN. She presents nationally to different audiences and has been a speaker at over 1000 conferences in 46 states. Wendy is also an adjunct faculty member at the University of Wyoming Graduate Nursing Program and in the Simmons College DNP program in Boston. She is the nurse practitioner representative to the State of NH Immunization Advisory Board. Wendy has served a consultant to a number of pharmaceutical companies, medical offices and corporations. As a family nurse practitioner, she has also served as an expert witness in medical malpractice cases and is frequently consulted by malpractice attorneys around the area of clinical practice. Barbara Dehn, RN, MS, NP, FAANP, NCMP Barbara Dehn RN, MS, NP is a practicing Nurse Practitioner and a television health expert, who’s known as Nurse Barb. She is passionate about health education, whether it’s 1 on 1 with a patient, in a lecture hall at Stanford or with millions of people watching on television. Her warm and engaging personality puts everyone at ease as they learn more about health. In addition to national appearances and interviews on CNN, NBC and ABC, Barb took the extraordinary leap of bringing her blog, Nurse Barb’s Daily Dose to ABC nationally. She is as comfortable being interviewed for international audiences on CCTV as she is interacting with the public at health fairs and conferences. She is also a veteran of Satellite and Radio Media tours, providing memorable sound bites on health that resonate and positively impact audiences. Nurse Barb is the award winning author of the Personal Guides to Health used by over 4.5 million women in the US, with titles ranging from fertility and pregnancy to menopause and breastfeeding. Active in Social Media, she contributes content on The Huffington Post, NurseBarb, EmpowHer and The Patch and amplifies her reach with over 28,000 twitter followers. Her book, “The Hot Guide to a Cool Sexy Menopause”, published by Basic Health Publishing was released in June, 2014. “Nurse Barb’s Guide to Breastfeeding” and “Nurse Barb’s Guide to Pregnancy” were released in January, 2015. Nurse Barb has received numerous awards, serves on several pharmaceutical and medical advisory boards. She earned a masters degree from UCSF and a BS from Boston College. She is certified by the North American Menopause Society and is a Fellow in the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners. Barb lives in the San Francisco Bay area with her husband and son. Sajid Jalil, MD, MS Dr. Sajid Jalil earned a medical degree from the Aga Khan University in Pakistan. He completed a residency in Internal Medicine from UND and fellowship in Gastroenterology from University of Texas Medical Branch. He is board certified in Internal Medicine, Gastroenterology and Transplant Hepatology. He is currently the division chair of gastroenterology at Sanford Health. Wendy Brown, PharmD, PA-C, AE-C Dr. Brown is an Associate Professor at North Dakota State University College of Health Professions. Coordinates and lectures in pathophysiology and physical exam courses for Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D) students. Lectures on upper/lower airway diseases and therapeutics to physician assistants and doctor of nursing practice (DNP) students. Serves as a facilitator in a interprofessional education class for respiratory therapy, radiological, laboratory sciences, nursing, pharmacy, social work and dietetics students. She practices one weekend a month as an urgent care physician assistant. Has been a Certified Asthma Educator (AE-C) since 2003. Is chair of the Drug Utilization Review (DUR) board for North Dakota Medicaid. Was a contributor to the National Standards for Asthma Self-Management Education (SAS-ME). Continued

Her current research and publications involve the use of Telehealth technology to provide Asthma management to rural, medically underserved patients. In her free time, she enjoys volunteering at her daughters AWANA club, participating in global medical missions and time out at the lake with her husband, daughter and their chocolate lab Dr. Adit Mahale, MD, FACP, FASN, FNKF Dr. Adit Mahal went to medical school at Topiwala National Medical College (Mumbai, India). He did his residency in internal medicine and nephrology at the University of Missouri in Columbia, MO. He did his fellowship in transplant surgery at the Mayo Clinic and Graduate School in Rochester, MN. His certifications are from the American Board of Internal Medicine and American Board of Internal Medicine: Nephrology. He specializes in kidney and pancreas transplantation, dialysis and kidney disease. Dr. Mahale is married with one daughter and a very spoiled golden retriever. Frances Sahebzamani, PhD, ARNP, FAANP Dr. Sahebzamani is an adult nurse practitioner and joined the H. Lee Moffitt Cancer Center and Research Institute’s Employee Wellness Program and Acute and Primary Care Health Clinic in 2014. Dr. Sahebzamani developed and directs the Healthy Weight and Cardiovascular Risk Reduction Program targeting patients with obesity and comorbid metabolic dysregulation. This program is designed to implement the state of the art in evidence-based practice for the management of obesity and metabolic dysregulation within a primary care setting. Continued

Prior to joining the Moffitt team, Dr. Sahebzamani was an Assistant Professor in the Family Medicine Division of the USF Colleges of Nursing and Medicine. During 2006-2013, she was the director of the Advanced DNP prior in the college of nursing and from 2002-2014 co-developed and co-directed the USF Prediabetes Treatment Center within the division of family medicine. Dr. Sahebzamani is a Fellow of the American Nurse Practitioner Foundation’s White Paper on the management of obesity and presents nationally on the topics of obesity, diabetes and metabolic syndrome. Her program of research includes the topics of obesity, metabolic dysregulation, and cardiovascular risk reduction in primary care settings. Tze Shien Lo, MD, FACP Dr. Tze Shien Lo received his medical degree from Kyushu University, Japan. He completed an internal medicine residency at the University of North Dakota and an infectious disease fellowship at the University of Utah. He is currently Chief of Infectious Diseases Service at the Fargo Veterans Administration Healthcare System and a Professor of Medicine at the University of North Dakota.

Refunds for paid registrants & vendors will be issued for written cancellation requests received by Sept. 6, 2016. Refunds for written cancellation requests received after Sept. 6, 2016 will be assessed a non-refundable $90 fee for meal and administrative costs.

Returned Checks/Incomplete Payments

Attendee is responsible for any fees incurred as a result of bounced checks. The NDNPA reserves the right to withhold continuing education credits to those whose conference registration is incomplete.
