Application This material is used extensively by the boiler and pressure vessel fabricators who provide manufacturing support to the petrochemical, oil and gas industries. Description ASTM A5 16 Grade 65 is steel that offers excellent performance in lower ambient temperature service, has good weld-ability and excellent notch toughness. This is an excellent choice for pressure vessels and boiler fabrication. This steel offers a greater yield and tensile strength when compared to the ASTM A516 Grade 60. Application Used throughout the oil, petrochemical and gas industry, the steel is also found in sour services and wet H₂S applications (where the steel is HIC tested). Chemical Composition Table 1. It offers a greater Yield and Tensile strength when compared to ASTM A516 Grade 65 and can operate in lower temperatures. Application It’s ideally suited for high standard set by the oil, gas and petrochemical industry.
