At Kurumba we never miss a chance for a party or celebration. Below you’ll find details of our planned early-year festivities, as well as look ahead to 2016.

6th January Orthodox Christmas Eve

Orthodox Christmas is a special time to be together with family, friends and good food. An extensive buffet will be on offer, with a focus on fresh seafood, live food stations and ambient music.

8th February Chinese New Year

We will celebrate the Year of the Monkey, with a sumptuous Asian/Chinese buffet in Vihamanaa.

14th February Valentine’s Day

For guests wanting to celebrate with their special Valentine, there will be a special 5-course dinner held in a romantic setting in Thila.

8th March International Women’s Day

On this day women are recognized for their achievements without regard to divisions, whether national, ethnic, linguistic, cultural, economic or political. A special luncheon will be organised in Kurumba highlighting many inspirational women from the Maldives.

17th March St. Patrick’s Day

Irish and non-Irish alike will be able to celebrate St. Patrick’s with a special beer promotion at the Kandu and Kalhu Bar.

19th March Earth Hour

Every year millions of people turn off their lights for Earth Hour at 8.30pm in their local times. Iconic buildings and landmarks from Europe to Asia to the Americas have stood in darkness during previous Earth Hours. Join us in a candlelit Kurumba setting to recognize this important ecoevent.

25th– 27th March Easter Celebration

Easter is a time for Children to enjoy many traditions so a kids buffet will be served in Vihamanaa from 7pm to 8pm every night. Kids can enjoy pizza making, crazy cookies and kids Karaoke as just some of the additional activities.

21st April Party With A Purpose

Join us for a day of music with local bands and DJ’s all performing for a purpose. This will be the fifth year that Kurumba has held this charity Music Festival where all money raised on the day is donated through our CSR program. Last year we raised USD 21000 and this money was used to sponsor educational programs for care takers at the Children’s home in Villingili.

22nd April Earth Day

Earth Day is a day year on which events are held worldwide to increase awareness and appreciation of the Earth's natural environment. Earth Day is now coordinated globally by the Earth Day Network and is celebrated in more than 192 countries every year. More than 1 billion people worldwide participated in green acts around the globe during the Earth day last year, sending a powerful message for action on climate change.

1st June International Children’s Day

Kurumba Maldives will host underprivileged children from the Kudakudhinge Hiyaa Children’s Home located on Villingili island, for a day of fun, food and festivities in Majaa Recreation.

6th June – 5th July Ramadan

A month long observance of self-purification and contemplation of charity toward those less fortunate. A special Iftar and Sohour buffet during the Islamic month of Ramadan is prepared where guests can gather to break their fast together (special menu also available with In Room Dining)

10th June – 10th July Euro Cup - Football

Games will be screened in our Kahlu Bar for our guests who are football enthusiasts.

6th July Eid-Al-Fitr

Guests are invited to wear their best attire for the “Celebration of Breaking the Fast” dinner. To mark the end of fasting period of the Islamic month of Ramadan, a celebratory Eid-al-Fitr feast (buffet) will be prepared in Vihamanaa restaurant to celebrate Eid-al-Fitr (the end of Ramadan).

5th – 21st August Olympic Games in Brazil

Join the Olympics fever by watching the different competitions, to be screened in Kahlu Bar.

14th – 16th August Celebrity Chef – 2 Michelin Star Chef Andre

Renowned Chef Andre Chiang from Restaurant André in Singapore will be visiting Kurumba Maldives and offering a special menu over 3 days in Thila. You can meet with Chef Andre at a special cooking demonstration. More details to follow. Please contact [email protected] for more details.

11th September Eid Al-Adha

In the occasion of the Holy Eid-Ul-Adh’ha, we will have a special Eid buffet in Vihamanaa Restaurant.

30th October Diwali

Diwali is perhaps the most well-known of the Hindu festivals. Join us to celebrate the so-called “Festival of Lights” with a special buffet with Indian cuisine influence in Vihamana restaurant.

31st October Halloween

A fun day and evening for the kids, and not so grown up at heart. Trick or treat and these events throughout the day and evening.

26th November Thanksgiving

Thanksgiving is a special time for families to come together and share a traditional meal. An exceptional buffet will be served in Vihamanaa to mark this occasion.

23rd December 2015 – 8th January 2016 Festive Season Celebrations at Kurumba

The festive season celebrations will run from the 23rd December to the 8th January 2017. Throughout our festive season, we have a full range of programs, activities, recreation and entertainment for both adults and children. This complete program will be released and updated during the year.

24th December Christmas Eve

We will serve a scrumptious seafood buffet dinner along with a live cooking station on this special night. There will be a full program of activities and entertainment throughout our festive season.

25th December Christmas Day

Enjoy a Christmas lunch at Vihamanaa from 12.00-2:30pm. Look out for the many activities we have put together, especially for you.

31st December New Year’s Eve Gala Evening : White Party

We will start the evening with champagne to work up an appetite and prepare guests for a sumptuous seafood buffet with numerous live cooking stations, lavishly spread in the Thila Restaurant. The real party begins at the 2016 countdown party at the Kandu Bar. Be entertained by our fabulous live band and DJ as they play the latest and greatest hits. Groove into the music with your dancing shoes or just chill out and enjoy that cocktail while we wait for the spectacular countdown to a New Year! The theme for the evening is “White Party”.
