Around the Parish… Feast of All Saints & All Souls Day: in our parish and diocese November 1st – Feast of All Saints A Holy Day of Obligation Because this feast does not fall on a Saturday or Monday this year, the obligation to celebrate Mass applies to all Catholics. Our Mass schedule for that day is as follows: 8:00 AM (in English), 12:15 PM (in Spanish) and 6:00 PM (a bilingual celebration). In next week’s bulletin, we will include the Mass schedule of other area parishes as well.

——————————————————— All Souls Day Novena & Masses Our parish will begin its All Souls Novena at the 8:00 AM Daily Mass on All Souls Day (Wednesday, November 2nd). The Novena will continue for 9 consecutive Masses (at the 8:00 AM Daily Mass Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday, the 5:00 PM Saturday Anticipated Mass of Sunday and the 8:00 AM 10:00 AM, 1:00 PM and 7:00 PM Masses on Sunday, November 6th). You may enroll deceased loved ones in the Novena by using the Novena envelope (available in the mailed packets or on the table in the vestibule) to list their names and include your donation. Envelopes need to be turned in by the 8:00 AM Mass on Wednesday, November 2nd. In addition, on Wednesday, November 2nd, there will be diocesan celebrations of Memorial Masses at the two Catholic Cemeteries here in Tucson. The first Mass will begin at 8:00 AM at Our Lady of the Desert Cemetery (2151 S. Avenida Los Reyes). The second Mass will begin at 8:30 AM and will be held at Holy Hope Cemetery 3555 N. Oracle Road. Refreshments will be available following the Masses.

La novena continuará por nueve misas consecutivas (en la misa diaria a las 8:00 de la mañana el miércoles, el jueves, el viernes, el sábado, la misa a las 5 :00 de la tarde del sábado y las misas de 8:00, 10:00, 1:00 y 7:00 el domingo, 6 de noviembre). Se pueden inscribir sus difuntos en la Novena, utilizando el sobre de Novena (disponible en los paquetes enviados, o sobre la mesa en el vestíbulo) listar sus nombres e incluir su donativo. Over the past seven weeks, we have been including an insert with information about the new translation of various parts of the Mass which will go into effect in all parishes in the United States on the First Sunday of Advent (November 27th). In the next seven weeks, we will re-run these inserts since some parishioners have probably missed one or more of them. The focus of this annual campaign is to foster respect for life from ―womb to tomb‖. In this spirit, throughout this month we will be collecting baby items for Reachout Pregnancy Center as well as items for the elderly residents at Villa Maria Care Center . Donations for infants can be put in the playpen and items for the elderly in the basket by the walker both of which will be in the vestibule. Adult Confirmation Classes coming this Fall

It is our parish’s custom to celebrate Confirmation at the end of January or the beginning of February each year. In preparation for this, we will be offering a preparation series in English for adult Catholics (18 years or older) who were baptized and received First Communion but have not been confirmed. If you haven’t been confirmed, and would like to celebrate this sacrament, please let Fr. Glenn know of your interest (795-1633, Ext. 111 or [email protected]). Details will be available in a few weeks.

Este Otoño se darán las Clases de Confirmación para Adultos

Es costumbre de nuestra parroquia el celebrar la Confirmación cada año a fines de enero o principio de febrero. Antes de esto, ofreceremos una serie de preparación en Inglés para adultos católicos (18 años o mayores) que fueron bautizados y recibieron Primera Comunión pero no han sido confirmados.
