GENERAL RULES 1. Age Regulations: A. ALL drivers’ 17 years of age and younger: Hunterstown Kart Club MUST have a copy of your Birth Certificate on file in order for a minor to race at the speedway. Anyone 17yrs old or younger will be given 2 weeks to provide a copy of your Birth Certificate or you will NOT be permitted to race. NO EXCEPTIONS TO THIS RULE. Age limitations are effective December 25, 2014. B. Driver’s 16 years old by December 25, 2014 must run a senior class. If a driver’s birthday falls after December 25, 2014, he or she may either stay in a junior class or run in a senior class. C. Age waiver: (Jr. to Sr.) You may move from a junior class to a senior class

with a signed waiver. At this point (if you are running for points), you cannot move back down into a junior class. *Note: In some cases if circumstances allow, when there is only one (1) kart present to race a Jr. Champ or Jr. Restricted class the driver may be permitted to race the senior class as approved upon by the board. Points would be earned for the class participated in. D. Age Waiver: (Jr. to Jr.) In addition to the class you are of age to run, you may run one class higher than that class in addition to your regular class.. ** This means you may run both classes on any given night** Example: Your regular class is the Jr. Sportsman II Champ class. (10 – 12 years) You may also run the Jr. Champ class. (12 – 15 years) *Note- If you are only running the money class and do not run weekly, the Jr to Sr rule does not apply.*

2. No one is permitted to come to the grid area (pass the white line on the Grid) with WET PREP on your tires. ALL PREP must be dry before you cross the white line in the grid area or you will not be allowed on the track. 3. Only 1 person to a kart in the starting area of the grid. 4. Hunterstown Speedway will be open tire rule for the 2015 season 5. Practice Policy: If you practice in a class that you are not registered, you will start in the rear for your heat in ALL the class(es) you are registered in. Under special circumstances you may get permission from the race director to practice in an unregistered class. 6. Pit Buggies: Pit buggies will not be allowed within the grid area. Any buggies found on the grid may be impounded and will be returned at the end of the race day. Competitors in offense of this rule may be disqualified. 7. Competitors racing for Hunterstown points will be allowed two (2) “throw away” weeks. This will be from the first points race until the last points race. This is to allow competitors to miss two (2) weeks without being penalized. Any week you are not awarded points due to illegal in tech, disqualifications, suspensions, etc., you cannot use these weeks as “throw aways.” 2

If rained out and heat races are run, every competitor that paid the entry fee will be awarded 150 points in addition to the points earned in the heat race. If rained out in midheat race, the race will be canceled: competitor’s insurance race entry fee only will be honored the following week. If rained out in mid-feature race, feature finished will be used for the classes completed and heat finishes will be used for the rest of the classes not able to run the feature event. Pit entry insurance armbands are honored ONLY if there are zero (0) karts on the track before cancellation. Example:

9. Bicycles, ball playing, skate boards, radio controlled toys, etc. are forbidden in the pits and on the track at all times. 10. No one is permitted in the scoring tower without permission from one of the track officials/personnel. Entry without permission will result in loss of points for the night without option to “throw away.” 12. FIRE EXTINGUISHERS ARE MANDATORY IN ALL PIT SPOTS. 13. All cage classes must have a separate check valve in fuel tank. 14. Hunterstown allows up to 50 over on a Briggs after market flathead piston and Burris wrist pin .318 max id. Must meet the same measurements out of the book with no performance advantages. 15. Kid’s Champ Kart – BS-BSP motor with red plate AKRA Rules as a guideline or L206 with 3 hole purple plate following WKA Rules as a guideline. Open clutch 1st 4 weeks, this will be a class decision cut off date April 19th. 16. Clone BSP Class – AKRA Senior Pro Rules as a guideline, any Burris tires permitted. Muffler RLV (part #4104), open clutch, open gear ratio. Any AKRA approved flywheel. Electric Starters are allowed Spec Fuel: 87 octane from Hunterstown Truck Stop at 25 Sandoe Road, Gettysburg, PA 17325. (1.9 miles from track). Fuel must fall within plus or minus 10 points of spec gas. 17. Mandatory Drivers Meeting: Roll call will be taken. Failure to attend a drivers meeting will result in your starting in the rear of the heat. All junior drivers must have a parent or guardian present at the drivers meetings with the driver. 18. If your class normally has 3 or more karts, and a week occurs that there are only 1 or 2 karts, you will receive points for the night as long as you go out when your class is called and takes the green flag. This rule is here for the karters that support Hunterstown each and every week. Classes with less than 3 karts for 3 consecutive weeks will be eliminated for the year. Pending they can move to another class. 19. In the event of a tie in points at the end of the season, the person who has the most feature wins will win. If there is still a tie, we will then go to who got the most 2nds and so forth. This format will also be used when breaking a tie for the final four (4) weeks of inversion. 20. Burris head gasket permitted for Animal engines. Burris piston and wrist pin also permitted. Cylinder bore not to exceed 2.725

Race Rules 1. Intent to defraud: Any competitor who would falsify his or her age, modify their kart or engine with the intent to compete illegally, or defraud the race officials by such modifications or actions, will result in the loss of points and awards for that event and be subject to suspension upon review of all evidence by the Hunterstown Kart Club officials. Hunterstown Kart Club officials reserve the right to impound any illegal parts for further review. This race cannot be a “throw away.” If found with the intent to cheat (big cam, big carb., etc.) you will lose all points and awards gained up to and including that point in season. 2. Unsportsmanlike driving penalties (rough driving) will not be tolerated at any point during a race event, in the chute, or at the scales. Competitor(s) participating in such actions will be black flagged and receive zero (0) points for that event without the option to “throw away.” Example: If black flagged in the heat race and given zero points, feature race points acquired are not eligible to be “thrown away.” 3. Black Flag Situations: A. When a class is black flagged off the track for any reason, the race will be run at the end of the program according to the last completed lap. If there is one lap completed, no one in the infield can restart. If the class is black flagged without any laps completed, the race will be started by the original line-up and all karts can restart in their original position. B. Any Kart causing three (3) cautions in one race will be black flagged and scored accordingly. C. Any driver that intentionally spins out, he/she will be black flagged which will result in loss of points for that race and will not be eligible to “throw away.” D. If you are black flagged for any reason, GET OFF OF THE TRACK IMMEDIATELY! If you are not off of the track within one (1) lap you forfeit the points for that race without the option to “throw away.” 4. Red Flag Situations: A. Pull to the inside of the track, stop immediately, and shut off the engine to allow the emergency personnel access to the incident. B. Any kart that does not stop as quickly and safely as possible under the red flag will be disqualified from that event without the option to “throw away.” No Exceptions. C. In the event of a red flag after ¾ of the race is complete, the race will be considered over. EXAMPLE: 9 of 12 laps or 12 of 15 laps. The order of finish will revert back to the last completed green flag lap with the person causing the red flag scored at the rear. D. Medical: Anyone needing medical attention must notify the secretary the day of the event. The medical insurance ceases when the driver returns to racing or by signing a waiver. 5. Start of the Race: A. When a class is called to the grid, go to your starting spot on the grid and get prepared to start your engine. Track officials reserve the right to penalize any competitor who is not on the grid within the line-up of their class. Meaning that you will start in the rear. This is an effort to reduce the risk of injury to all persons on the grid. B. *No motors can be started before entering grid B.* 4

C. Questions concerning your line-up position must be addressed prior to going out on the track. After the 1st kart is on the track no position will be changed. If a kart drops out prior to the green flag, karts in that line move forward. D. Starting positions for the heat race will be based on pulling pills. Feature starts will be determined by heat race finish. E. When the flagman or grid steward tells you to start your engine, the two (2) minute clock begins. When everyone is ready or the two (2) minute clock runs out, the class will be sent to the track. No one will be permitted to enter the track after the two (2) minute clock expires. F. There will be a 12 minute time limit for heat races and 15 minute limit for the feature races from the drop of the green flag. Time during red flag condition is excluded. G. Transponders: a. Any driver who goes out on the track and does not record having a transponder on their kart: Driver will lose their starting position (moved to last position) and a transponder will be retrieved by an official and placed on the kart. b. Penalty for not attaching a transponder correctly to a kart: if the transponder comes off and becomes broken – replacement or repair cost for the transponder will be the driver’s responsibility. Driver will be disqualified without the option to "throw away". Transponder shall be placed on rear upright on the left side nerf bar in the transponder bag. c. Any driver who loses their transponder will be responsible for replacing it. Replacement cost of a transponder is $280.00. d. Any driver who breaks a transponder not related to an accident on the track will be responsible for replacing it. Transponder replace cost is $280.00. G. Number of Karts in Heat Races a. All Jr. classes and the Sr. Champ classes will be split for the heat race in the event that there are 12 or more entries. There will be no more than 22 karts in any class in the feature race. b. In the event that a consolation race is needed, the top 18 starting positions will be determined by the heat race results. Four (4) karts will transfer from the consolation race to the feature race. Consolation races will have the same number of laps as the heat races. H. All starts and restarts will be when the Head Flagman throws the green flag. Use of pylons will be at the discretion of the track officials. Flagmen are in charge when the race starts. If a Corner Flagman throws the yellow, and the Head Flagman has the green flag, the yellow flag will be honored.

I. There will be one chance at a double file start, after that, the race will be re-started single file. J. Yellow Flag: a. In the event of a yellow flag on the first lap, there will be a complete restart, double file, with the competitor(s) causing the caution, along with any competitor that stops on the track being sent to the rear. If a second attempt at a double file restart is unsuccessful, all karts will go single file for the third and subsequent restarts. b. In the event of an accident the competitor(s) causing the caution, along with any competitor that stops on the track will be sent to the rear. Competitors who are told to go to the rear and refuse, will be black flagged, resulting in zero (0) points for that race without the option to “throw away.” 5

c. All restart line-ups will revert to the last completed lap with all competitor(s) involved with incident going to the rear. d. You may have one (1) engine restart after the green flag drops. e. If your engine stalls under caution and you were not the cause of the caution, you will get your spot back. Blue Flag: All karts being lapped will be given the blue flag and/or contacted by raceceiver that the leaders are coming. White Flag: If the leader takes the white flag and there is a caution on the final lap, the race is complete. There will be no one (1) lap shoot-outs. Everyone will be scored accordingly with the competitor(s) causing the caution to be scored at the rear. Checkered Flag: Once the checkered flag is thrown the race is complete. Any kart(s) that do not finish the race will be scored accordingly and given points. All karts must scale to receive points. All karts must take the green flag to receive points.

PROTESTS 1. The Hunterstown Kart Club Officers listed on the front page are to be used for discussing disagreements and answering questions that DRIVERS may have. The officers and other track officials (flagman, etc.) will be involved in the decision making process of all protests. THE DECISION MADE BY THE MAJORITY IS FINAL IN ALL PROBLEMS AND WILL BE TO THE BEST INTEREST OF ALL PARTIES INVOLVED. 2. You must have raced in the same race that you are protesting. Note: Your kart will be teched before your competitors kart.

3. All protests must be placed before the kart you are protesting leaves the scales. You may pay for a protest before you go out on the track or have a representative pay on your behalf. 4. If protested competitor is illegal, protestor gets his/her money back. If protested competitor is legal, the protested receives the money. If competitor is found to be illegal, that competitor loses his/her points for the night, without option of “throw away”. 5. Protest Fees:

6. The current WKA Technical Manual is used as a guideline for all tech issues. 7. Hunterstown Kart Club officials reserve the right to tech any kart and/or engine at anytime. 8. ONLY TECH PERSONNEL, KART DRIVER / DRIVER REPRESENTATIVE AND TRACK OFFICIALS ARE ALLOWED IN THE TECH AREA DURING TEAR DOWN!! 9. Tech officials are present to complete the tear down from either a protest or track decision. Any person that harasses or disrupts the tech official with their actions will lose their points for the night in all classes with no “throw away.” 10. If found illegal in the heat or feature: 1st offense: Lose points for the night, no “throw away” nd 2 offense Lose points for the night, suspended for one (1) race, no throw away (per decision of the track officials) rd 3 offense: Done for the year, lose all rights to awards and money as per decision of track officials 11. The penalty for refusing tech/tear down is the same as if found illegal.

TECH 1. A. Drivers must wear heavy jackets, heavy pants, gloves, high top leather shoes, neck brace and an approved SA 2005 or newer full face helmet. CHAMP AND CAGE CLASSES BELTS MUST BE SFI CERTIFIED. NO TEARS, RIPS AND THEY MUST BE CERTIFIED BY TECH. B. All Jr Champ kart racers must wear a SFI Cerified fire suit. C. It is Recommended that All Adult Champ kart drivers wear a SFI Certified fire suit. 2. You must finish the heat and the feature using the same kart that you started the race with. You can use 1 kart in the heat and another in the feature. Since the driver is qualified by the heat race, the starting position for the feature is earned by the finish in the heat – regardless of the kart being used. If there is an inspection, and you used two different karts or engines, both kart engines or karts will be inspected. You must notify scorers if there is a number change or a kart change PRIOR TO GOING ON THE TRACK. If the scorers are not notified before you go on the track, you will be black flagged off and will not receive any points for that race, no “throw away.” Notify the race director or tech inspector, NOT YOUR ENGINE BUILDER, if changing an engine. Tech/Track Official must initial motor, if motor found illegal driver will be disqualified in all class with no option to "throw away" 3. All karts and drivers must pass a W.K.A. pre-tech check using WKA rules as a guideline. Inspection items are listed in the W.K.A. Technical manual as a guideline. 4. 4-cycle classes – MUFFLERS ARE MANDATORY. 5. Children 12 and under running flat karts: CHEST PROTECTORS ARE MANDATORY per WKA specs as a guideline. 6. All karts must have legible plates with 6” NUMBERS/LETTERS ON ALL 4 SIDES and CAN ONLY BE 3 DIGITS to receive points. Plates should be cleaned or replaced after each race so they are visible to the scorers or the driver will not be scored for that race. Some colors do not match up good together for scoring. If your numbers are hard to see, you will be asked to change them. For example: no orange, red, blue and black combinations and no yellow, green and white combinations. MAKE SURE YOUR NUMBERS CONTRAST. No clear plates will be allowed. No metal fairings, wings or side pods. 7

7. All karts must be weighed after each event. Driver must place kart horizontally on the scales. Any tampering with the scales will result in disqualification. If any driver and kart refuses to weigh, they lose their points for the night, no “throw away.” No weights are allowed in your pockets. Ankle and wrist weights are not allowed. ALL LEAD MUST BE PAINTED WHITE AND HAVE YOUR NUMBER ON IT!!! 8. If light at the scales in the heat, you lose your points for the heat and start in the rear for the feature. If you are still light, you will lose your points for the feature. We are trying to eliminate people intentionally running light in any class. If light at scales, one additional opportunity to immediately back up, zero the scales, and rescale. If the competitor is still light, he/she will be disqualified. If you are light by 5 pounds or more, or if you refuse to weigh, you may face a week suspension on the 1st offense. On the 2nd offense, you may not be allowed to race in that class again. These decisions will be made by the officers/track officials. 9. W.K.A. RULES WILL BE USED AS A GUIDELINE WHEN TECHING MOTORS, FUEL, KARTS AND OR PRE-TECH CHECKS. CHAMP KARTS WILL FOLLOW THE SAME RULE USED FOR 2001. 10. 4-cycle fuel tech: Pure methanol only. A. Holeshot power mist or fuels with additives are illegal at Hunterstown. If your fuel smells like ether, the tech committee and board has the right to declare you illegal plus they can send your fuel to the lab to be tested. If found there is additive in the fuel, the person who’s fuel was tested will pay lab fees plus will lose points for the night and possible suspension per review from the board, no “throw away.”

TRACK MISCONDUCT & PENALTIES 1. When you sign into the pits: YOU ARE AGREEING TO ALL RULES WRITTEN AND UNWRITTEN, and to abide by the decision of the officers and track officials. 2. $25.00 fine if you are caught without a PIT INSURANCE ARMBAND. You will not be allowed on the Hunterstown Kart Club property until fine is paid. (fine carries over from year to year) Driver will not be allowed to race if anyone in their pit area does not have a PIT INSURANCE ARMBAND. If any member of your party enters the pit area without a PIT INSURANCE ARMBAND, after the races start, you will lose your points for the evening – no throw away. DO NOT PARK IN THE PIT AREA UNLESS YOU HAVE A KART. 3. No glass containers of any kind allowed!! No alcoholic beverages or illegal substances will be allowed in the pits. THE DRIVER IS RESPONSIBLE FOR HIMSELF, HIS CREW AND HIS FRIENDS IN THE PIT AREA. If anyone in his party is found drinking or using illegal substances, the driver will be disqualified from racing for the night. If the driver is found drinking, he/she will be out for the year and not eligible for any awards. 4. NO DRUGS OR FIREARMS of any kind are allowed on the grounds. If you or any of your pit crew is caught with any of the above you will be asked to leave and you will not be allowed to come back 5. NO DRIVING IN THE PIT AREA. Drivers must stop karts before passing the scale (at line). Drivers will start all karts in the grid area only. Anyone driving in the pits will lose his/her points for the night.

6. Unsportsmanlike conduct: THIS IS DEFINED AS SWEARING, PUSHING, SHOVING, OBSCENE LANGUAGE OR GESTURES 1st offense: 2nd offense: 3rd offense:

THROWING A PUNCH OR ANY PHYSICAL FIGHTING: DONE FOR YEAR, LOSE ALL RIGHTS TO AWARDS, ETC., PER REVIEW Remember: The driver is responsible for anyone in their pit area. You will not be allowed in the pit area during the suspension for any reason. Fines must be paid before driver is allowed back in the pits or to race. This includes fines incurred by your pit crew/friends in the pit area. NO EXCEPTIONS!! 7. Suspension or fines: Fines and/or suspensions will be carried over to the next year. If you or anyone in your pit receives a fine or suspension, at any time during the year, it must be paid or carried out or until paid (in the case of a suspension) before you will be allowed in the pits or to race again. Example: if you receive a fine the last week of racing, you must pay that fine before you will be allowed in the following year. If you receive a suspension the last week or racing, you must serve the suspension the next year before you will be allowed in. If you have any outstanding fines/suspensions, you will not be eligible for any year end awards. 8. Hunterstown equipment fines: Anyone who damages property that belongs to Hunterstown Speedway (heavy machinery, cars used to run track in, etc) will be fined an amount determined by the Board.

CAMPING IS NOT PERMITTED DURING ANY EVENTS Anybody calling the police to Hunterstown Speedway without the permission of the club officers will not be permitted to race at Hunterstown Kart Club indefinitely. ANY SITUATIONS NOT COVERED BY THESE RULES ARE AT THE DISCRETION OF THE TRACK OFFICIALS AND WILL BE DEALT WITH TO THE BEST INTEREST OF KARTING, SAFETY, AND THE HUNTERSTOWN KART CLUB.
