LEARNING & PERFORMANCE OBJECTIVES This course is designed for practicing obstetrical and gynecologic (OB/GYN) physicians, primary care physicians, as well as physicians in training, nurse practitioners, nurses and allied health professionals working within the area of OB/GYN. After completion of this seminar the participant should be able to: • • • • • • • • • • • • • •

Describe current approaches to management of the transgender patient. Discuss current methods for the use of immediate postpartum contraception. Discuss issues related to the Zika virus and reproduction. Relate surgical considerations of the morbidly obese patient. Recognize the many issues tied to the IVF laboratory including oocyte cryopreservation. Detail recent advances with minimally invasive surgery. Explain and appropriately counsel patients on the proper management of twin pregnancies, the infertility evaluation. Specify the current components of the well woman exam. Utilize evidence-based information to benefit the management of many primary care problems associated with pregnancy. Apply the use of vaginal hysterectomy appropriately. Accurately describe the best management for obstructive uterine anomalies. Discuss methods of cancer surveillance and survivorship care. Discuss and improve management of periviable preterm birth. Outline contraceptive counseling for the adolescent.
