HABITAT FOR HUMANITY OF MICHIGAN

Since 1982, Habitat for Humanity has produced over 5,600 homes in Michigan, partnering with over 17,900 individuals for decent affordable housing. In FY 2014, Michigan affiliates built, rehabbed, or repaired 465 homes in partnership with people in need. This activity resulted in projects with a total market value of approximately $13,900,000 and an additional $224,000 paid in property taxes annually by Habitat for Humanity homeowners.

Habitat ReStores benefit communities and the Habitat mission. Providing gently used home goods at discounted prices, ReStores operate as a unique place for those interested in DIY projects, antiques, and home improvement to find new treasures. Profits from ReStores are poured back into the Habitat mission — fueling the building, rehabbing, and restoring of more homes in Michigan.

Habitat for Humanity Michigan Fund offers loan originating, servicing, and collections to affiliates



Prison Build program provides construction products for Habitat partner families and education and hands on experience to incarcerated individuals



USDA Rural Development 502 Loan Packaging offers access to a federal funding allocation primarily used to help low-income individuals or households purchase homes in rural areas



Discounted training opportunities offered to Habitat affiliates, as a chartered member of NeighborWorks America®



Support to affiliates for Neighborhood Revitalization Initiative (NRI) projects in fulfillment of their housing mission, including critical repairs, weatherizations, accessibility ramps, and A Brush With Kindness projects)



AmeriCorps members via Michigan Community Service Commission serving in: - Community outreach - Volunteer coordination and recruitment - Family support - Construction liaison - Neighborhood development



Implementation and evaluation of Habitat affiliates for resource eligibility via the annual Readiness File



SpartanNash program in partnership with Kent County Habitat for Humanity, and other employee volunteer and/or donation programs



Working alongside affiliates across the state in an effort to ReBuild Michigan, raising awareness, volunteerism and resources for the Habitat mission



The Salesforce platform provides a state-wide shared database to track engagement with donors, volunteers, and homeowner partners and increase affiliate collaboration

The ReBuild Michigan Campaign set of goal of raising $225 million within the network of Michigan affiliates by the end of 2015. This fiscal year, the campaign exceeded the fundraising goal by $13 million dollars, challenging us to set a new goal for 2015: $275 million.

More than 240,000 people have either volunteered, financially supported, or advocated to eliminate poverty in 2013-14 alone, putting us 200,000 individuals away from our 1 million engaged goal which we anticipate will be met by the campaign’s end.
