Hunt for the Hidden Pirate Turn a

pirate into treasure by hiding him all around the house! Show the model to your friends, then break the model down into several parts, and ask someone who is not playing to put each part in a different place. Set a timer, and see how quickly it takes you and your friends to find them.

Build

a Mighty Mech It is easier than it looks to make a really complex LEGO robot. So long as you build a simple, stable body to begin with, you can go on adding more and more high-tech details until it looks as if it comes from another planet!

Put on a Play Build a stage out of LEGO bricks and

you can put on a play in your own minifigure theater. Make the players move from behind the scenesÃ¢Â€Â―and put on all the funny voices, too! Invite your family and friends to see a show, or perform for a packed house of theater-loving minifigures.

Alice Finch took the LEGO® world by storm when she unveiled one of the largest LEGO models ever built by a single person; a minifigure-scale LEGO Hogwarts School of Witchcraft & Wizardry. She is a master LEGO builder and contributor to DK's LEGO Awesome Ideas. She lives with her family in Seattle, Washington.Rod Gillies lives in Edinburgh in Scotland. He is best known in the LEGO world for his steampunk and microscale creations, and being a contributor to The Brothers Brick blog. He has built models for a number of the DK LEGO books, including the LEGO Play and LEGO Awesome Ideas books. When he's not building, he writes, and is the author of a trilogy of adventure novels. In the real world, he works in innovation and marketing for one of the world's biggest brewers.

This books quality is beyond what i expected to get once I ordered this book. This a awesome book and the price is perfect for what you get. I gave this as a birthday gift and the birthday child couldn't be happier getting this book. So if your child, grandchild, or if thinking to get this as a gift for someone go for it because this book is awesome. The shipping was extremely fast and absolutely no delays on getting the book. I loved the speedy delivery being I was buying this as a gift. So would recommend this book it is worth every dime you spend.

Grandkids were arguing over this book that was from school library. Got this and the fact that it has a timer makes it their favorite.

Granddaughters enjoy this book. It is very helpful for them. They get so many different ideas and it helps their creativity too.

What an awesome book!! Then, again, what Lego book isn't!! Plenty of stuff to build for younger kids as well as the older ones.

Such a great book for more advanced Lego builders! We have several other books that the boys enjoy looking at, but my 11 year old really likes this book. It's got some great pictures as well as different challenges and ideas for what to build. He and his 13 year old brother really enjoyed building the pinball machine. I can see this being a hit for many years to come.

My son is LOVING this book! He has been reading it every day and using it to be even more creative with his legos. He's just turned 11 and it's perfect for him.

My grandchildren loved it! Increases reading skills as well as technical skills!

365 THINGS TO DO WITH LEGO BRICKS is my absolute favorite DK LEGO-building book to date, because it includes generalized instructions for a huge variety of projects, puzzles, and games, as well as tons of master builders' tips. One of the authors is Alice Finch, who is famous for her enormous LEGO model of the Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. The book also has contributions from master builders Barney Main, Rod Gillies, Joshua Berry, Kevin Hall, Jason Briscoe, Drew Maughan, and Naomi Farr and Stuart Crawshaw. (Unfortunately the book doesn't identify the specific projects with the designers' names.)The book doesn't include any LEGO bricks, but it does come with a battery-powered project-selector and game timer. You push the ? button to randomly select one of the 365 projects; you push the Clock button to set the countdown time for games and timed builds. The timer is glued into the book's cover, and you'll probably want to leave it there so it doesn't get lost. You can access the battery compartment through an opening in the book cover. The timer arrives with a 2032 coin battery installed and ready to activate by pulling a tab. Many of the projects require specialized bricks (e.g., the bedside lamp calls for a LEGO "light brick" containing a LED light; the pantograph drawing machine needs Technic gears and beams),

but these are available from the online LEGO Store or from independent LEGO brick sellers' websites. My personal favorite projects include the Magic Show (with the stage box that makes the magician's assistant disappear); the Box of Dominoes; the Build Your Own Home project; and the Bedside Lamp--but it's really hard to pick favorites from this assortment. The book has something to represent just about every kind of thing that you can build from LEGO bricks, and, as LEGO enthusiasts know, there aren't many things that can't be built or simulated with LEGO bricks. The Table of Contents is especially nicely done. Instead of appearing in a list, the projects are organized into categories (e.g., "For the Sports Lover", "Build in Micro-Scale", "Get Arty", "Give a Gift") that help you quickly find the projects that you're most interested in.
