Tree of Light Memorial Mass To remember babies who have been lost through miscarriage, stillbirth, other pregnancy losses, and infant or early childhood death.

Sunday, November 8, 2009 St. Charles Pastoral Center Airport Road & Route 53 Romeoville, Illinois 60446 3:00 p.m. Tree-lighting Ceremony preceding Mass. Reception following All families and individuals are welcome to attend this Mass in remembrance of babies who have died. A special tree lighting ceremony will take place for family members to commemorate the lives of little loved ones. Persons unable to attend who wish to have a baby remembered, are asked to call 815-838-5334. Elizabeth Ministers will assist at this event. A NOTE FROM A &E Just a reminder, please do not remove, add to or move any decorations in church. We try to decorate for the liturgical year, and we have had things moved and things lost in the process. If you need to change anything get the approval from Fr. Luis and return everything to the way it was. Thanks for everyone’s help with this. A man named Luigi Tarisio loved violins and began collecting them. He took great pride in scouting out rare finds and purchasing only those instruments that he knew to be of the finest quality. No one really knew about his passion, however, until after he died. It was while his estate was being appraised that some 246 valuable violins were discovered in his attic! One of the most expensive violins had been hidden in the drawer of an old dresser. It was a Stradivarius he had purchased from someone who had also bought it solely as a collector’s item. In commenting on this, W.Y. Fullerton noted that in preserving the instrument, Tarisio had robbed the world of beautiful music all the time he treasured his violins. Others before him had done the same. In fact, by the time the greatest Stradivarius violin in his collection was finally played, 147 years had passed! The gifts, talents, abilities, and aptitudes that you have been given by the Creator are intended for you to discover, and then use until they become perfect. We are to uncover who we were created to be...not cover up what we fear we are. Give expression to your inner self today. It is not only God’s gift to you, but the very best you can ever give to others.

Commemoration of All the Faithful Departed - All Souls Day All Souls Day, Nov. 2, is when we pray for our loved ones who have died who may be in Purgatory. We pray for expiation of their sins and a swift journey, purified of all punishment due to sin, to the Loving arms of our Heavenly Father. A Special Bilingual Mass will be celebrated on Monday, November 2nd at 7:00 p.m. We will have in the back of church envelopes (for a free will donation) for you to place the names all any loved ones you wish remembered at all the All Souls Mass as well as at the First Friday masses throughout the year. We also invite you to bring pictures of your loved ones who have gone to God on all Souls Day and place them in the Sanctuary. The CCW ladies will be making a banner with the names of all our loves ones. Please turn in the names by the 28th of October.
