3 types of Traffic Control devices… These help guide and control the flow of traffic 1. Signs: These are placed on the sides of the road to inform the motorist. 2. Signals - usually placed at busy intersections to help keep traffic moving. 3. Pavement Markings: They mark where a motorist should be on the road.

Traffic Police Officer In heavy traffic or emergency situations without traffic control devices, there will be a police officer to control traffic. When there are no signals and no police officers, treat it as a 4 way stop sign.

2. TRAFFIC SIGNALS 1. Vertically – When held vertically, the colors are red, yellow, and green, from top to bottom

2. Horizontally: The colors are red, yellow, and green from left to right when held horizontally.

Green: Proceed through intersection, yield to pedestrians still in intersection
