Respected Media Persons, Guests of this august evening, Parents, dear Colleagues and my dear children. At the outset let me welcome you all to our 28th Annual Day celebration. I take this pleasant opportunity to present the annual report of our Vidyalaya for 2013-14 citing the outstanding achievements of our students in various curricular and cocurricular activities envisioned as last year’s objectives. The Navodaya Vidyalaya System is a unique experiment unparalleled in the annals of school education in India and elsewhere. Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalya, Koraput was established in the year 1986 in accordance with the National Policy on Education 1986. The main objective of the Vidyalaya is to provide Quality Modern Education predominantly to the rural talented children and to promote National Integration. It is a co-educational residential institution affiliated to CBSE, New Delhi and running under Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti, an autonomous organization under Ministry of HRD, Department of Education, Government of India. ACADEMIC ACHIEVEMENTS: The Vidyalaya atmosphere is very conducive to nurture and nourish the children’s intrinsic capabilities. The team of my devoted teachers work from dawn to dusk balancing their style of teaching which caters to the need of both gifted children as well as slow learners. The students have put their consistent efforts in their studies. As an outcome of such sincere and combined efforts, our Vidyalaya has achieved 100% quality results in Class X and 92% in Class XII in CBSE Exam – 2013. 05 students of Class X have been awarded Merit Certificate by CBSE for securing 10 CGPA and among them A.OM.Praksah Subudhi stood first in the Vidyalaya . As a part of the Continuous Comprehensive Evaluation this Vidyalaya has conducted 6 Formative Tests and 2 Summative Tests for Non-board Classes in the academic year 2013-14. In all classes the toppers have secured more than 90% in aggregate.

3

CO-CURRICULAR ACTIVITIES: Besides academics achievements our students participated and brought laurels to the Vidyalaya in various competitions organized by the NVS and other organizations. The Vidyalaya believes that there is an underlying link between a child’s academic pursuits and other pursuits such as Literary. Scientific, Games and Sports, performing and fine art tuned with development of leadership skills. The following students have brought glory to our Vidyalaya in Inter-Vidyalaya Level Competitions.
