2017 BANGKOK INTERNATIONAL INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY, INVENTION, INNOVATION AND TECHNOLOGY EXPOSITION (IPITEx 2017) IN THAILAND INVENTORS’ DAY

The National Research Council of Thailand (NRCT) is a governmental organization holding status as a department under the command of the Prime Minister or assigned Deputy Prime Minister. NRCT acts as a key unit to give advices on nation development through research and development application. As well, its main function is to develop the country’s research system by formulating national research policy and strategy, setting the direction in which the national research plan is driven, evaluating the country’s research in overall, setting up research standards and acting as a research data center. In addition, NRCT also promote and support research, invention, innovation and technology transfer to related users in both the private and public sectors. One of main activities on promoting inventions and innovations, NRCT has cooperation with related organization to hold Thailand Inventors’ Day since 1995 up to the present. The Cabinet resolved on 10 May 1994, to declare 2 February of every year as the Inventors’ Day in Thailand, to commemorate the achievement of His Majesty the King Bhumibol Adulyadej, the Father of Thai Invention, in inventing the “Low Speed Surface Aerator” or the so-called “Chaipattana Aerator”. On 14 August 2001, NRCT has been assigned to be the leading agency, coordinating with other government agencies and the private sector to organize Thailand Inventors’ Day. Since then the event has been held to open floor to all Thai and international inventors to exhibit and promote their inventions, new products or new techniques as well as to share experiences among themselves. Therefore, the fruitful commercialization and cooperation on research, invention and innovation will be operated effectively.

 Exhibitions of National Research Council of Thailand Award comprise of those of the National Outstanding Researcher Award, Research Work Award, Dissertation Award and Invention Award  Exhibitions of national inventions from secondary schools, vocational and technical colleges, Universities, the public and private sectors  Bangkok International Intellectual Property, Invention, Innovation and Technology Exposition (IPITEx)  Competition of Thailand young inventors is divided into 3 levels: * Secondary school level * Vocational and technical College level * University level  Competition of local inventors  Competition of international inventors: * Bangkok International Intellectual Property, Invention, Innovation and Technology Exposition (IPITEx) Award * ASEAN Outstanding Invention Award * Medal Awards (Gold, Silver and Bronze)  Conference and workshop on invention development (Only in Thai language)  Consultation from related organizations such as Department of Intellectual Property, Thai Industrial Standards Institute, Small and Medium Enterprise Development Bank of Thailand etc.

Every year in Thailand Inventors’ Day, an international pavilion is set up for exhibiting the potential and interesting invention and innovation of international inventors/innovators. This exhibition is known as Bangkok International Intellectual Property, Invention, Innovation and Technology Exposition (IPITEx) which will be held in Thailand Inventors’ Day 2017 during 2 – 6 February 2017, to create the collaboration between Thai and international inventors/organizations.  Booth – NRCT provide booths for leading international organizations (not for individuals) involving the development or promotion of invention/innovation for free of charge. These booths will be located at the international pavilion as the size and provided facilities as follows: - Standard booth: 2 m x 2 m x 2.4 m (W*L*H) - Provided Facilities: * Fascia board with invention’s name * 1 Table/booth * 2 Chairs/booth * Electricity ( 220V, single phase, 60 Hz., 1 KW.)/Invention
