THREE LAYER POLYETHYLENE
Thermoforming uses a single plastic sheet of high density polyethylene that literally forms a canoe right over a mold. The thermoformed plastic material is durable and provides better abrasion and impact resistance than more expensive fiberglass hulls. Compared to aluminum the plastic hull is less prone to denting and quieter during on water activity.
Single layer is just that, one precisely molded layer of high performance plastic material – we named it LT9000. It’s a proprietary blend of polyethylene that doesn’t sacrifice weight for durability or stiffness. LT9000 delivers a great ride along with a super feel for the water under you.
This technology allows us to produce a stiffer craft versus a traditional single-layered kayak and omits the need for added foam billets. A foam core is sandwiched in the middle of two layers of polyethylene providing built-in flotation and insulation from cold and noise.

Kayak Glossary SIT-ON-TOP KAYAKS: The sit-on-top design eliminates the confines of enclosed kayaks for greater versatility.
SIT-INSIDE KAYAKS: Sit-inside kayaks deliver comfort and dry protection from waves and the elements.
LENGTH: The longer the kayak, the more “wetted surface” it has, which will make BOTTOM it more speed efficient for touring, but somewhat lessFLAT maneuverable. Shorter hulls respond quicker to paddle strokes and are more nimble.

This is the maximum width of the kayak. Wide equals stable, while a skinnier kayak will slice through water cleaner for enhanced speed.
CHINE:
FLAT BOTTOM SHALLOW ARCH A soft chine is rounded where water meets the hull, and is forgiving when BOTTOM leaning. A hard chine has steep, stable hull sides that are more resistant to leaning.
ROCKER:
SHALLOW ARCH BOTTOM
When viewed from the side, a kayak that is very flat has little rocker and is built for straight tracking. One that is U-curved has a lot of rocker and SHALLOW ARCH is more maneuverable for quick turns. BOTTOM

Canoe Glossary CANOES: A typical canoe is a one- or two-person, open-hulled watercraft with elevated seats and a carrying yoke for portaging.
LENGTH: The longer the canoe, the more “wetted surface” it has, which will make it more speed efficient for touring, but somewhat less maneuverable. Shorter hulls respond quicker to paddle strokes and are more nimble.
BEAM:
FLAT BOTTOM This is the maximum width of the canoe. Wide equals stable, while a skinnier boat will slice through water cleaner for enhanced speed. FLAT BOTTOM FLAT BOTTOM CHINE: A soft chine is rounded where water meets the hull, and is forgiving when leaning.
