CME and MOC Details

The American Academy of Sleep Medicine is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) to provide continuing medical education for physicians. The National Sleep Medicine Course and the Intensive Scoring Review course have been planned and implemented in accordance with the Essential Areas and Their Elements of the ACCME by the American Academy of Sleep Medicine. The AMA Council on Medical Education mandates that accredited providers only offer AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™ to physicians. The AASM will issue non-physicians a letter of attendance for activities designated for AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™. The American Academy of Sleep Medicine designates the National Sleep Medicine Course Course as a live activity for a maximum of 19.50 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™ and the Intensive Scoring Review course as a live activity for a maximum of 4.0 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™. Physicians should only claim credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity. Successful completion of this CME activity, which includes participation in the evaluation component, enables the participant to earn up to 19.50 MOC points in the American Board of Internal Medicine’s (ABIM) Maintenance of Certification (MOC) program. Participants will earn MOC points equivalent to the amount of CME credits claimed for the activity. It is the CME activity provider’s responsibility to submit participant completion information to ACCME for the purpose of granting ABIM MOC credit. Please note that ABIM MOC credit is not available for the Intensive Scoring Review. The AASM is submitting an application for MOC credit from ABPN.
