NOTICE OF RACE

South of Perth Yacht Club (Inc.) (Organizing Authority) In conjunction with the Australian International Moth Class Association Inc.

RULES The regatta will be governed by the rules as defined in The Racing Rules of Sailing. The prescriptions and special regulations Part 2 of Yachting Australia (YA) will apply. The rules of the International Moth Class will apply. Rule 40 is changed so that it applies at all times while afloat without the need for display of the Y Flag. This changes RRS 40.

ADVERTISING Competitors may be required to affix bow, sail and/or boom stickers displaying sponsor’s names/logo(s) or numbers. These items will be supplied by the Organising Authority and shall be affixed as prescribed in the Sailing Instructions.

ELIGIBILITY AND ENTRY The Regatta is open to all boats of the International Moth Class which meet the following requirements: Competitors shall be financial members of a Yacht or Sailing Club affiliated with their respective State or National Authority and their respective State or National International Moth Class Association. Measurement certificate and MNA membership shall be presented at time of entry and registration. Entry must be received by 1700 hrs on Friday 19th December 2015. Late entries may be accepted at the discretion of the organising authority. Entries received prior to 31st October will be eligible for the “Early Bird” prize draw. 4.

FEES The regatta entry fee is $250. Late entry fees shall incur an additional fee of $25.

It is intended to complete up to 15 races. The warning signal for the first race will not be before 1055 on Sunday 3rd January, 2016. There will be no warning signal made after 1530 on Friday 8th January, 2016.

MEASUREMENT Each boat shall present a current valid measurement certificate for all equipment and sails at registration. Competitors shall not change rudders, dagger boards or T-Foils whilst afloat – any change of rig or foils shall be made on shore. Boats may be inspected at any time before or after a race to ensure compliance with the rules.

SAILING INSTRUCTIONS The Sailing Instructions will be posted to the SoPYC website no later than seven days prior to the regatta and will also be available at Registration.

VENUE The Regatta site shall be South of Perth Yacht Club and adjacent rigging area. The racing area will be on Melville Water West as shown in Attachment A.

THE COURSES The courses to be sailed will be windward/leeward as described in the Sailing Instructions.

PENALTY SYSTEM RRS 44.1 and P2.1 are changed so that the two-turn penalty is replaced by the one turn penalty.

SCORING The Low Point scoring system, Appendix A4.1 will apply. A minimum of three races are required to be completed to constitute a series. The “Grand Prix” (Lapped Finish) procedure will be used. This procedure will be described in the Sailing Instructions.

PRIZES Prizes will be awarded as follows: - First placed Australian – 2015 Australian Champion - 1st to 5th places – Open Championship - First Australian Female - First Australian Junior Master (Aged 40-45 years of age on the scheduled first day of the regatta) - First Australian Master (Aged 45-54 years of age on the scheduled first day of the regatta) - First Australian Grand Master (Aged 55 years or older on the scheduled first day of the regatta) - First Australian Junior (Aged 18 years or younger on the scheduled first day of the regatta) - First Australian Non Foiler Further awards may be awarded at the discretion of the Organising Authority.

INSURANCE Each participating boat shall be insured with valid third-party liability insurance with a minimum cover of $10,000,000 per event or the equivalent. By completing the entry form and by signing the declaration, competitors are deemed to have made a declaration that they have such cover. Competitors shall be required to provide such details and evidence that they have such insurance in place at the time of registration. DISCLAIMER OF LIABILITY Competitors participate in the regatta entirely at their own risk. See rule 4, Decision to Race. The organising authority will not accept any liability for material damage or personal injury or death sustained in conjunction with or prior to, during, or after the regatta. Logistics Assistance can be provided for those arriving by plane with boats to collect. If you require assistance of this nature, please contact Colin Spence at [email protected] or phone 0438 246 268. All entrants and adult members of their party are granted temporary membership of the SoPYC for the period of the regatta.

Camping Camping is available at the Club for the duration of the Regatta. A $55 non-refundable deposit is required for a gate key payable at Registration.
