Seeding criteria as listed in the Soccer Manual, pages 19 & 20 will be followed. The top seeded team in each tournament shall be given the opportunity to host the regional provided it has adequate facilities; criteria should include quality field, ability to charge admission, seating availability, etc. If the top seeded team declines the opportunity or does not have adequate facilities, the choice should then be given to the second seeded team in that regional tournament, etc. The host school will contract officials subject to approval by their opponent. 

Refer to the Soccer Manual pages 21 through 22 for additional information regarding State Quarterfinals and the State Tournament. All regional tournaments are four-team tournaments. All first round games will be played at the site of the higher seed (Example: Team 6 vs. Team 7, the game will be played at the site of Team 6 unless their facilities are not adequate). The team with the better seed will be the host team and will contract the game officials. The final games of the regional will be played at the sites of the 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th seeded teams (unless their field is not adequate or they are eliminated from the tournament). The regional manager will contract the officials for the final games. All tournament games will use three officials in so far as possible - head referee and two assistant referees (diagonal officiating system). Use only KSHSAA registered officials. Refer to the inside front cover of the Soccer manual for the checklist that applies to various squad lists and forms.  6A STATE QUARTERFINALS & FINALS: State Quarterfinal games between the three regional winners in the Northeast region plus the eastern most regional winner of the Central region, and the three winners in the South Central region plus the western most regional winner of the Central region, will be played on Tuesday, November 1st in their respective geographical areas. The four state quarterfinal winners will advance to the state tournament to be held at the Wichita-South HS Carpenter Field on Friday and Saturday, November 4-5, 2016. Michelle Kuhns, AD at Wichita-South will be the tournament manager. There will be two sessions at the state tournament, semifinals and finals. Semifinal matches will be played at 5:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m., on November 4. The #1 seed from the Northeast Region will play the #2 from the South Central Region and the #1 seed from the South Central Region will play the #2 seed from the Northeast Region. The team with the highest seeding percentage will play the first semifinal contest. The consolation match will begin at 12:00 noon, Saturday, November 5, followed by the championship match at 2:00 p.m. 2016 --- BOYS STATE TOURNAMENT (RECOMMENDED SCHEDULE) Monday or Tuesday, October 24 or 25, Regional First Round Thursday, October 27, Regional Finals Tuesday, November 1, State Quarterfinals Friday, November 4, State Semifinals Saturday, November 5, State Consolation and Championship Note: In the event of inclement weather and/or poor field conditions, the consolation final may be rescheduled to follow the championship game or canceled by the KSHSAA.
