Parade of Athletes Video: Highlights from the 2015 Games Opening ceremony will be followed immediately by fireworks over Mirror Lake presented by Young Explosives. Athlete lineup for Opening Ceremony 5:30 PM in the USA Rink

Use the Cummins Road Athlete Entrance to Olympic Center. Athletes MUST wear an ESWG jacket to participate in the Parade of Athletes. No exceptions.

Welcome to the 36th Empire State Winter Games! These competitions mark a significant turning point in what is already the largest community-supported collection of athletic games in the U.S. 2016 represents a real Games changer, with several new and exciting sports, expanded adaptive competitions, new venues, additional partner communities, cash prizes and for the first time, an international scope. We’re pleased to bring together some of the finest and most enthusiastic athletes from across the region, country and border to compete in a record 23 winter sports. With family, friends and neighbors as spectators and supporters, the athletes embody excellence in sport. On behalf of the Games’ host communities and the region, we wish you all the best as you do YOUR best in your competitions this week! Sincerely,

Support provided by a Market NY grant through I Love NY/ New York State’s Division of Tourism as a part of the Regional Economic Development Council awards.

Sure, in the winter it sometimes earns the distinction of being the “coolest” temperature, but Saranac Lake is cool in a whole host of ways. A mecca for paddling, fishing, and all things water with a robust arts community, eclectic restaurants and shops, and significant history, the vibe here is cool all year round.

Tupper Lake www.TupperLake.com

Sitting on the 9-mile-long lake for which it’s named, the community hosts an exciting calendar of special events, cultural activities, and athletic competitions, and is home to the museum that interprets the natural history of the Adirondacks, The Wild Center.

Few places on earth can claim to be THIS CLOSE to this much. World-class fly fishing waters, breathtaking mountain trails, Whiteface mountain ski and bike runs, and shopping in an artists’ community.
