A Managers Meeting will be held on Court Two in the Badminton Hall at the Melbourne Sports & Aquatics Centre starting at 9:20am on the day of the event.

The cost is $30/per team entered in the tournament. All teams are required to pay an entry fee. Bank Cheques, Personal Cheques, Money Orders, Money Transfer, Credit Card & PayPal are acceptable. 2015 Badminton Victoria All Schools Championships Rules & Regulations 1.

Regulations The tournament will be conducted in accordance with the Laws of Badminton adopted by the Badminton World Federation (BWF), except where modified by the tournament organisers.

2.

Entries All Schools must be in Victoria and have paid any outstanding tournament entry fees before being accepted into this tournament. All players must be studying any year level and be a student of the competing school.

3.

Entry Lists Entry lists will be published at badmintonvic.com.au after the close of entries.

4.

Draws The draws will be conducted by Badminton Victoria at least 7 days before the commencement of the tournament. The draw will be made available at badmintonvic.com.au. Any alterations to this draw due to unforseen circumstances will be announced at the Managers Meeting.

5.

Shuttles Shuttles will be supplied by Badminton Victoria and will be of the synthetic variety.

6.

Supervision A teacher or integration aide or parent over the age of 18 is required to act as a team manager for each individual team entered in the tournament, not for each school. ie. ‘School ABC’ enters 3 teams, therefore they need 3 team managers

7.

Withdrawals A full refund can be provided to schools who withdraw up to 9 days before the commencement of the tournament. Team withdrawing after this date will not be able to be provided with a refund.

8.

Discretion Badminton Victoria reserves the right to change, alter or edit all facets of the tournament including but not limited to tournament structure, point scoring systems, draws and scheduling

2015 Badminton Victoria All Schools Championships Tournament Structure 1.

Teams A team will consist of 4 to 6 players from one school and can be of any gender, age, playing ability or disability.

2.

Rankings Each school will rank their players on order of playing ability from 1 to 6, with the best player being ranked number 1. Final player rankings must be submitted prior to the end of the managers meeting, if no rankings are provided they will play as listed on the original entry form. Schools are asked to play their strongest ranked pairing in match one. Badminton Victoria reserves the right to re-rank entries that are grossly misjudged.

3.

Scoring System A match will consist of one game first to 11 points, with no setting being permitted. A change of ends will occur at the 6th point. The rally point scoring system will be in effect. The scoring system is subject to change, depending on timing requirements.

4.

Tie A tie will consist of 6 doubles matches. Each school can play up to 6 different players per tie. Each player can only play a maximum of 3 matches per tie. Players cannot play with the same partner twice in a tie.

5.

Courts Depending on the number of entries, ties may be played on one home court and one shared court between two ties. The shared court will alternate after each match with another tie.

6.

Time Limit Each tie will be limited in duration and this will be set out before the commencement of the tournament. If a tie is not completed in its allotted time, the score of the match currently in progress will be written down and no winner for that match will be declared, however the number of points won & lost will be included in the overall results.

7.

Tournament Structure Teams will be allocated into round robin groups where they will play other teams in that round robin group. After the initial round robin stage, teams will be positioned into another round robin group to decide winners and final placings. The number of entries will determine the final structure and is subject to change.

8.

Tie Winners The winner of a tie will be the team with the greater number of matches won. If at the end of a tie two teams are equal on matches won, the team with the team greater number of points for will be the winner, if teams are still equal the tie will be a determined to be a draw.

9.

Group Winners The team with the greater number of tie wins will be determined to be the group winner. If at the end of the group two teams are equal on tie wins, the team with greater number of matches won will be the winner, if teams are still equal the teams shall be separated in accordance with the BWF Laws Of Badminton as published by Tournament Software’s League Planner.
