Piccolo Mondo Welcome to our 2013 2013/2014 Wine List where you will find over 20 2000 wines to choose from. Here at Piccolo Mondo we love wine and are passionate about encouraging our wine loving customers to move on from their routine choice. With our wine list you don't have to compromise on quality even when choosing from the lower end of the list. Trends in wine and drinking habits have changed over the years; for the full enjoyment of wine the eye eye, the nose, and the palate come into play. Step 1 - the eye to appreciate the colour, Step 2 - the nose to savour the aroma, Step 3 - the palate for the enjoyment of the taste. Wine should be drunk at leisure when full enjoyment can be derived by all senses. Fine wine should be sipped rather than gulped. Wine taken in moderation can be a wonderful gift. It is a tonic not only for the body but to the spirit and can make a success of the dullest party.

Grapes: Sangiovese, Cabernet Sassicaia is a modern-day marvel, born of humble origins, an accident of viticulture curiosity that has become a worldwide icon. It has pioneered the creation of a new ‘classic region’ in Bolgheri, it has added the words “Super Tuscan” A fine depth of colour, a refined cassis nose with notes of apple wood and soft spice. On the palate really expansive and richly textured with sweet, vibrant blackcurrant fruit. Scintillating acidity, beautifully ripe and grainy tannins, and lifted minerality made for an energetic and vital structural feel - but it was the sheer velvety fruit, silky elegance and sense of purity and length that gripped the senses. A magical, lilting wine with ethereal touches - outstanding potential.

Grapes: Sangiovese, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc. Tignanello is the wine for which Antinori is known above all others. There is something intrinsically Italian about it, quite unlike many of the more modern SuperSuper-Tuscans. A very intense ruby red in color with purple highlights, the wine is immediately and suavely convincing in its aromas and harmonious in its expression of the characteristics of Chianti Classico as a zone. The nose is redolent of licorice, violets, and cherries under spirits together with notes of vanilla, chocolate, and sweet toasty oak, all of excellent intensity and sweet elegance. Fresh and savory flavors on the persistent finish and aftertaste

Solaia is a very complex wine with a solid and full-bodied structure. The aroma is fruity, intense, and sweet with notes of ripe cabernet which give the wine a strong individual identity. In the mouth the tannins are soft, gentle, and harmonious. The varietal notes are dominant and work together to indulge the palate with a long and wonderfully persistent finish.
