Big Data Supercomputer Catalyst Fired Up
U.S. Department of Energy has completed the design of a supercomputer, Catalyst, for Big Data use. The new system fully utilizes SSD as a storage medium. According to the market analysis, in the future Big Data era, SSD will become mainstream.
Catalyst supercomputer at Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory will provide a proving ground for new HPC and Big Data technologies and architectures.
