PATRICK GROVES
Biography The Groves were appointed to Sudan/Kenya in 2004 and arrived in Nairobi, Kenya, in January 2009 where they taught in the Bible school. Brother Groves serves on the general and executive boards of the UPC of Kenya. They have been involved in travelling throughout Kenya training pastors and saints in the principles of leadership, evangelism and church planting. Sister Groves and their three children Mary-Elizabeth, Patrick Warren Jr. and Joash, have also been very involved in training and promoting children’s and puppet ministries among the churches in Kenya. The children established a youth outreach ministry out of the headquarters church in Nairobi. As a result, they have been invited to minister in some local high schools, among other things. As a result of all these activities, they have personally seen over 400 souls filled with the Holy Ghost, several notable healings and many people baptized in Jesus’ name during crusades, conferences, Bible studies and regular services. They also worked with a Sudanese refugee group in Nairobi and saw several of them filled with the Holy Ghost and baptized in Jesus’ name. The Groves were involved in successfully registering the newly formed UPC of South Sudan in 2011. At present we currently have two churches and four pastors in that country. They hope to relocate in the very near future to South Sudan in order to help establish this infant church for the glory of God by planting new churches and training nationals.

MIKE BENSON
Biography Missionary, Africa, Central African Republic In 2003, the Benson family began their active involvement in Global Missions as Aimers to the island of Madagascar. After experiencing the incredible revival taking place in Madagascar, the Bensons felt that the Lord was leading them to carry His Truth to Central African Republic and continue to build upon the foundation that Missionary Randy Adams, Area Coordinator of West Africa, had begun in 2002. Responding to the leading of the Spirit, they applied for an Intermediate Missionary Appointment to this nation. They were appointed by the United Pentecostal Church as global missionaries to the Central African Republic in February 2007. The Benson family arrived in Togo in December 2008 to begin their first 4 year term in West Africa. They immediately began studying the French Language by attending language school, as well as private tutoring. As their language progressed, they were able to further their involvement in the work in Togo through both teaching and evangelization in several capacities: Bible School, Crusades, Seminars, Sunday School, Ladies Ministry, Children’s Ministry, as well as Radio Evangelism. The Bensons feel that their time in Togo, as well as Madagascar, has been invaluable to the plan of God for their lives, preparing them for the work in the Central African Republic. The Bensons will be the first UPCI resident missionaries in this nation. They are scheduled to begin their second deputation in January 2013, and they hope to arrive as resident missionaries in Bangui, Central African Republic in late 2014 or early 2015.
