Wollongong has a rich heritage covering thousands of years of Aboriginal occupation. The Town of Wollongong was formed in 1834 when the original streets were laid out by Thomas Mitchell. The below image from 1887 illustrates the historic significance of Wollongong's street pattern, as well as the number of significant early buildings that survive throughout the City. The numbered sites represent built elements in the CBD that remain a feature of Wollongong today. Where to Play?
