Introduction
Overview of Motorized Actuators Motors offer excellent controllability and are therefore used as the drive sources of various automated equipment. In many cases, a motor is combined with various mechanical components such as a ball screw, belt-and-pulley, and rack-and-pinion, to convert the motor rotation to a different type of motion needed to drive the equipment. Oriental Motor has various motorized actuators consisting of a motor assembled with the necessary mechanical components, to meet the various needs of automated devices.
■ Features of Motorized Actuators Equipped with a motor that provides excellent controllability, the motorized actuators offer the following advantages over hydraulic and pneumatic actuators. ● The actuator is very stable when operated, even at low speeds. It also offers smooth acceleration and deceleration operation. ● Operations can be programmed with multiple stopping points. ● With a motorized actuator using a stepping motor and AC servo motor, position and speed regulation can be performed easily using data. Setup change is also simple, as all you need to do is to change the data.
■ Advantages of Using Motorized Actuators When automated equipment is designed, various factors must be taken into consideration including the production line layout, installation environment, ease of maintenance, configuration of electrical wiring and control system, and so on. This means many man-hours are needed to select the motor and other mechanical components and create a parts list, drawings, operating manuals, and the like. Use of motorized actuators offers the benefits explained below.

● Higher Design Efficiency The primary feature of automated equipment is their ability to implement a series of basic operations such as "transfer," "push" and "rotate." In other words, you can design automated equipment by selecting and combining motorized actuators capable of performing these basic operations. The time and effort involved in designing automated equipment can be reduced.

● Shorter Production Time and Higher Quality When building equipment in-house by assembling a motor and mechanical components (see the illustration on the right), the quality of assembly affects the traveling resistance and position accuracy, therefore ultimately adjustments will be needed to achieve the expected operating performance. On the other hand, our motorized actuators are complete products guaranteed to provide the specified operating performance, so use of motorized actuators reduces adjustment work and ensures uniform quality.

Motorized Linear Slides Introduction
Features of Motorized Linear Slides A motorized linear slide is a positioning linear slide consisting of a stepping motor, frame, guide rail, guide block and ball screw. It can drive a load linearly in a precise, accurate manner through the rotation of the ball screw and the guide mechanism.
■ High Accuracy Positioning Operation The ball screw is rotated by a closed loop stepping motor to position a table fixed to a ball screw nut with high accuracy. A guide rail fixed to the table can provide accurate linear motion and support the weight of the load. Precise positioning of a large inertial load is also possible. Motor

A roller mechanism is used to prevent stainless sheet wear. The roller mechanism suppresses dust generation caused by the sliding of the stainless sheet and the table.
A traveling parallelism of 0.03 mm is achieved by the direct installation of the guide on the mounting surface.

Maintenance-Free for Long-Term Performance The ball screw employs the QZ lubrication system, while the LM Guide uses the Ball Retainer to retain the coupled rolling elements. The ball screw and LM Guide use AFF grease with reduced dust-raising properties, which is designed for use in clean rooms.

■ Features ● Adopting a Closed Loop Stepping Motor, This Linear Slide Eliminates Misstep and Hunting, While Attaining High-Speed and High-Response Operation The linear slide has no hunting problem upon stopping. The vibration and noise levels have been lowered by employing advanced technology that produces smoothness comparable to a microstep driver.
● Drivable at a Maximum Speed of 1000 mm/s and Acceleration of 5 m/s2
● Long Stroke The belt drive supports long strokes up to 1000 mm.
● Easy Wiring between the Linear Slide and Controller The linear slide and controller are connected via a single cable, and the wiring distance can be extended to a maximum of 10 m. The cable is fitted with a connector for quick connection. Flexible Conduit
The motor cable is sold separately.
The SPV Series boasts a maximum speed of 1000 mm/s. It also achieves an acceleration of 5 m/s2 when carrying a load corresponding to the maximum transportable mass in the horizontal direction. The cable can be placed in a flexible conduit or cable gland with an inner diameter of ϕ16.5 mm.
