Initiation of a inter-departmental communication process when patients are transported from one department to another. “Ticket” with vital/key information pertaining to patient’s medical status attached to outside of patients chart . Ticket is filled out by the nurse and includes code status, allergies, presence of tubes, IV lines, etc. This initiative was successful and is now implemented throughout the LifeSpan system. TIME OUT: Rhode Island Hospital/LifeSpan. October 2007. Roost cause analysis team member and team member in quality improvement project to develop invasive procedure “TIME OUT” process. Instrumental in writing policy including patient identification procedures, correct site procedures, and time-out. As a clinical nurse manager, participated in training of all hospital staff, including physicians.

Service Activities St. Mark’s Episcopal Church Eucharistic Minister; Altar Guild; Prayer Shawl Ministry; Food Kitchen/Pantry: Started a monthly soup kitchen and food pantry for homeless/indigent persons in the community. Health Fair; March 2014; Providence Rescue Mission. Sigma Theta Tau International Nurse Leader , with local nursing schools (Salve Regina University, University of RI, Rhode Island College) . Provided local community with free health screening including blood pressure screening, BMI, health care counseling, medication management, and health insurance information.
