Tip: Dynamic Alarm text

Creating an alarm message with a dynamic text that contains values derived from other addresses generated by either a digital or an analog item. To create a dynamic text alarm message, use the dedicated database block PcimDbBlock and a Basic Scrip that creates a dynamic text string from both a DDE address and a static text and sends the dynamic text to a database dot field that holds the PcimDbBlock block's description. Follow the example below to create a dynamic text alarm; Address%= "DDE ADDRESS" DynamicData$ = str$( Address% ) DynamicDesc$= "static text " + DynamicData$ + "static text" DOACTION "set |!PcimDbBlock.BlkDesc " + DynamicDesc$ For example: ADDRESS%=|!1:1:40001 DynamicData$=str$(ADDRESS%) DynamicDesc$="S-"+ DynamicData $+"material stopped flowing" DOACTION "set |!PcimDbBlock.BlkDesc "+ DynamicDesc Make sure to set the block's Alarm Wait period to a minimum of 2 seconds.

Is it possible to use aliases in .GRP files? Yes it is. As from P-CIM version 7.70 use of aliases is supported in .GRP files. This way you can use the aliases mechanism in your entire application. Back to top
