ORDERING INFORMATION ORDERING: You may order by PHONE, FAX ,EMAIL, or POST. We are in the office between 8.30 am and 4 pm Monday to Friday – outside these hours you are welcome to leave your order on our answering machine with your address and phone number. *Please don’t forget to leave your area code in case we need to get back to you. If you don’t have one of our order forms simply write your order on a slip of paper. Small orders are no problem. Minimum credit card order $10. OVERSEAS CUSTOMERS & GST: All prices include Australian Goods & Services Tax (GST). Overseas customers are exempt from this tax and can deduct approximately 11% from the prices herein. TERMS: Payment in advance by Bankcard, Mastercard, Visa Card, Cheque, Money Order or C.O.D. If wishing to pay by cheque or money order, please supply your phone or fax number and we will phone through the cost of your order including postage/freight charges or fax you a proforma invoice. Goods will be dispatched upon receipt of payment unless other arrangements are made. Please ensure your credit card number is legible and includes the expiry date with each order (we do not store card numbers). Foreign currency cheques are not accepted. POST AND FREIGHT: We offer a door to door service with Australia Post. We pride ourselves on dispatching orders the same day they are received wherever possible. Our mail is collected by Australia Post at 2.30 pm each day. To take advantage of of this fast del ivery please phone or fax your order to us before 11.30am and in most cases we should be able to dispatch the order with the afternoon mail collection. If you are in need of an order urgently it is advisable to inform us by phone so that we can give your order special attention. POSTAGE CHARGES: Postage Charges are calculated according to the weight and size of the parcel. The quickest way to receive your order is by using a Credit Card or by using the Australia Post C.O.D. (Cash on delivery) facility. The Australia Post charge for C.O.D. deliveries is $9.00 plus normal postage charges. NOTE: LARGER ORDERS ARE CHARGED ON CUBIC WEIGHT (i.e. measurements of package converted to cubic weight and charged at Australia Post bulk rates.) DELIVERY INSTRUCTIONS: If you may not be home when the parcel is delivered please note delivery instructions on your order as to where you would like the postman to leave the parcel in your absence e.g.: ‘at back door’ or ‘under tree to left of path’. If not adv ised on order the postman will usually leave a card and the order can be collected from the Post Office. C.O.D. (Cash on Delivery ) If you wish we can dispatch your order “Cash on Delivery”. With this service the postman will collect the cost of your order as well as the postage and C.O.D. charges when he delivers your parcel. Please have cash or cheque ready as the postman does not take credit cards. Alternatively a card will be left in your mailbox and you can collect the parcel at the post office and make payment. Please note that Australia Post charge a fee of $8.40 for the Cash on Delivery service. INSURANCE: All parcels within Australia will automatically include an insurance charge of 50c per $50 or part thereof unless we are instructed by the customer to waive insurance. If no insurance is requested parcels will then be sent at buyers risk. OVERSEAS INSURANCE: All parcels sent overseas will automatically include an insurance charge of $3.00 per $100 or part thereof. SAFETY WARNING: We must warn that some items referred to in the Catalogue may not be safe in the hands of young children (eg. glass eyes, glass beads, plastic beads, steel shot). RETURNS: If for some reason you are not completely satisfied with the goods please notify us within 7 days and a refund or credit will be made as soon as goods are returned to us. MOHAIR FABRIC DIMENSIONS SIZE OF CUT PIECES 1/16 metre = approx. 25cm x 33cm (i.e. fat 1/16th metre) 1/8 metre = approx. 50cm x 34cm (i.e. fat 1/8 metre) 1/4 metre = approx. 50cm x 71cm (i.e. fat 1/4 metre) 1/2 metre = approx. 50cm x 142cm FAT 1/4 METRE To enable you to get the most from your 1/4 metre fabric purchase, we cut ‘fat’ 1/4 metre pieces- i.e. 50cm (1/2 metre) tall by 70cm wide. (1/2 the roll width). A fat 1/4 metre has the same surface area as a normal 25cm x 142cm piece (1/4 metre) but is much more economical to use. FAT 1/8 METRE A fat 1/4 metre cut in half creates a fat 1/8 metre– ie approx. 35cm x 50cm. Our 1/8 metre pieces are all Fat 1/8’s.

PLEASE NOTE : Since mohair is a natural fiber woven from the coat of the Angora goat onto cotton backing, the finish (ie perm) and exact colour can sometimes vary. Schulte go to great lengths in their production processes to minimise such variations, even to the extent of ensuring that only mohair with a certain micron diameter, shorn from animals from the same region (eg Turkey, Texas, South Africa) during a specific season (ie winter or summer) is used in particular fabrics. However, as with all natural fibers, some variations can still occur. Please be conscious of this when planning a project as fabric purchased at different times, from different rolls can sometimes vary slightly.

USING NOSE TEMPLATES

NOSE eyes TEMPLATES Teddy

To use your nose template, simply trace out the nose shape on the back of the adhesive template flock. Choose a shape that is slightly smaller than the nose you want to end up with (when you embroider over the top of the shape your nose will be slightly larger).Cut the shape out. If your bear has a particularly short or pointed snout you can shorten the height or width of the shape by trimming a little off the top or sides.

Trim away the pile where the nose is to go. Peel the adhesive backing off the nose shape and gently place onto snout. You can try a few different shapes to see which best suits your bear. Press the chosen shape firmly into place. You can then use the shape as a guide when stitching the nose. Embroider your bear's nose over the cut out shape and sew mouth as usual.The adhesive template flock which comes with each pack is usually sufficient for at least 50 noses. Alternatively, if you do not wish to use the template flock, you can simply use the template to trace the nose shape directly onto the fabric.

Try different shapes to see which best suites your bear! Stitching teddy bear noses can be the hardest and most frustrating part of bear making. Easy to Use

NOSE SHINE Teddy eyes

Nose Shine is easy to use. Simply mask around the nose then lightly apply a thin coat with a small brush. Allow to dry then apply additional Coats until you achieve the desired effect. Often only one to two coats are necessary. Brushes wash out in water. But best of all, don’t think Nose Shine can only be used on embroidered bear noses - it can also be used to create a smooth glossy finish on all different types of fabrics And craft products.

Even Better – Nose Shine Your Waxed Noses

You may have already seen our new German Finishing Wax for bear noses. We’ve discovered that if you apply Nose Shine to a waxed nose the result is simply stunning. Just mask around the embroidered nose and apply the coloured Nose Wax. Polish the wax by buffing with paper then apply the Nose Shine with a brush as referrred to above.

This German finishing wax for bear noses comes in 25gm tubs, and is available in natural, black, brown and mahogany. It can be lightly applied to an embroidered nose to make the stitches lay flat and give the nose an attractive sheen. For a simple application, first mask the fur around the nose with tape. Next prepare a mug of boiling water and rub the wax block onto the outside of the warm mug to soften it a little. Then apply a light coat of wax by rubbing the softened side of the block onto the bear's nose. Now buff up the nose to a pleasing shine by rubbing the nose briskly with a piece of clean white paper. Repeat the process until you gain the desired effect.

Some of the early antique bears had a nose made from wax and by waxing the nose as above you can achieve a look similar to those early treasures. Better still - waxing can help to hide imperfections in the stitches.
